  1. PM'ed you, that is right up my alley.
  2. I always do. I ride with my high beams on almost 100% of the time at night and very very rarely get flashed to shut them off. They suck that bad. Usually i try to hook on to a car and use its lights to actually see what's ahead.
  3. People get PISSED when you do it in akron. DAMHIK... It without a doubt saved my life on RT8 one day. I was in the fast lane following a woman in a corolla, and had a blazer up my ass. She turned her right signal on, and a tanker truck was blocking the middle lane. She realized she was going to miss her exit 3 lanes over, slammed on the brakes, and without even thinking i pinned it and ducked between her and the tanker truck. I glanced in my mirror as i was between them and saw smoke rolling off the front tires of the blazer. I continued on down the road, I'm not sure if he hit her or not, but there for sure wasn't room for me in between. I don't give a shit if it's illegal or not, In traffic i'm always prepared to split at any time.
  4. I rode 2 winters on a set of BT045s sometimes below zero and they held up fine. Traction was better than the conti-motions i have now. I've rode on many different tires in below freezing temps and have never seen a tire fail because of it. Crap for traction yes, but no cracks or anything like that.
  5. I rode my 76 CB200T to the gulf coast last year, Hit deals gap on the way down and back. I got the bike for free and rode it MAYBE 200 miles after i got it running before i left, so the saddlebags were full of about 100 pounds of tools and spare parts. Wore out a brand new rear tire in 10 days, I figure i was way over the weight rating on the moped tires i put on it.
  6. My girlfriend wears a Kali dirt helmet. Seems like a really nice helmet for what she paid for it.
  7. Probably about 10 times, once riding 2 up. 2 up sucked, really ruins what little traction you have on the front end. The best was an unexpected snow at the end of October when i lived in Indiana. Rode the 20 miles or so to work one morning. I rode to my girlfriend's house the night before, woke up to about 9 inches of snow on the ground. Nothing more satisfying than passing a car in the ditch while you're on a bike. Always gave them a honk and a wave. I took to riding in the ditch myself for one stretch, riding in deep powder was easier than driving in the packed snow/ice.
  8. Dibs on the seat if you're going with a cafe seat... I need a stock seat for that bike.
  9. Sounds like you need a supermoto. I haven't driven to work since june, truck is sitting in the driveway with expired plates and a dead battery. I love riding in the cold, free horsepower.
  10. I hit a peacock (i think) in west Virginia a few weeks ago. I ducked down and its legs clipped the top of my helmet. My girlfriend on the back took a much more solid hit.
  11. Tell him a Busa won't wheelie, then show him any of the million supermoto videos on youtube. Get him on a DRZ400sm.... He'll get to law break and won't kill himself in the process.
  12. I've figured out why that is. When i ride my CB200, I can ride it like a maniac, Wide open slamming gears, etc. No cars get in my way, I'm happy as a clam. When i'm on my 625 SMC... I'm just mad, or bored. I can get on the throttle for all of about a second before i have to get off of it. Cars go at seemingly walking pace around corners. Riding in traffic makes me want to blow my brains out. That being said, the bike is pure magic when i have the road to myself, which is never, unless i'm on a trip. I always wave, because i remember when i was 18 and got my first bike (82 nighthawk) on one of my first rides in early January after i bought the thing, a guy going the other way on a bad ass old harley chopper gave me the wave. I thought I was cool shit. I love seeing little kids out in the country riding dirtbikes, I always give them a wave, and they act like i made their day.
  13. That stretch of road is fucking awesome. That's where we hit the peacock actually.
  14. I rode there this weekend... Amazing. I can't recall the name of the road off the top of my head, but the road that goes from highway 33 to the top of spruce knob was amazing. Took gravel roads up one side of the mountain, and that ridiculous stretch of paved 2 lane down the mountain. Deals gap ain't got shit on that piece of pavement. Not a single car, house, road or driveway. Epic. I learned one thing this weekend. I fucking love gravel. (as long as its not on top of pavement) We hit a peacock at about 60mph, I didn't know they could fly. Picked up the front end when i saw them walking across the road, and then they decided to half assed fly. They made it as high as my head. I ducked, but my girlfriend took one straight in the helmet.
  15. How old is the bike? If its over 15 years old getting it plated in vermont is easy. Print out a few forms from their website and mail them a check. Plates come in less than 2 weeks. Vermont doesn't title anything over 15 years old, as long as it doesn't come back as stolen you're good to go. You can then transfer that registration to ohio and get a title. I did it with a CB200 that was abandoned, last registered in 88.
