2005 suzuki SV 650 N, im 5'8" @ 165lbs 48-54 mpg calculated over about 10 fillups. all highway at indicated 80mph ~ 72 actual. 45-50 mpg on back roads.

Love that color! Do yourself a favor and get rid of those stock Dunlop D220's. They suck very badly.

My 2004 Husqvarna TE250 bit the bullet today (something in the bottom end let go). Anyone know a dealer with a competent service department that can rebuild Husqvarna engines?

It may not be perforated, but my Joe Rocket sonic 2.0 has zip out panels that run the entire length of the torso and arms. works damn good in the summer time. and with the panels in, It keeps me warm on those cool morning country road commutes. works just as good if not better than my brothers perforated alpinestar leather (forget which one it is). best part was I got it slightly used off of ebay for $160 shipped to my house.

It maybe a bit far for you, but I've heard some good things about Clinton County Motorsport in Wilmington. As i'm sure you are aware; its not the parts that's going to get you, its the labor. If you're a gambling man, you could try ebay. I did a quick search, and for right around $800 you can get an engine shipped to your house that comes with a 30 day warranty. could be an option. A buddy went this route for his '94 suzuki rf600 and it worked out very well.

yep, thats the issue that I was having. called the bmv again and was told I could renew my temp. any time. The family rented a cabin that is very close to us-129 so the bike will be trailered down. don't plan on riding at night, so I should be OK. good looking out, though. always nice to meet a fellow SV haver! I'm over by caesars creek off of Oregonia rd.

I've heard the same thing. my brother got his temp at the end of the riding season 2 years ago, and didn't get a bike until last June (VFR800 for his first bike). He rode it for a few weeks then took the skills test and passed. But he's been riding as long as i have and is actually a damn good racer, so I'm not surprised.

Ok, that makes more sense! unfortunately the the two Examination Station that I called on my lunch break today told me that they don't offer skills tests until April. crap... good advice for newbs who watch too many youtube videos of guys flying down the dragon and think they are ready to tackle the beast. while I'm relatively new to street riding (I did manage to put 7000 miles on my sv last year), this will be my 10th year riding dirt bikes and going on my third year of riding competitively, so I'm no stranger when it comes to risk analysis, choosing proper lines, body positioning, throttle control, brake modulation, ect... (yes I am aware they are two different styles of riding, but there are enough similarities between the two to make the comparison valid)

Mind elaborating on that? I've had my temp for almost a year now, but wasn't aware I could take a written test and get my endorsement.

Quick question for those who may now, when is the earliest BRC class? I sort of screwed the pooch over the summer when it came to registering and taking the BRC (totally forgot that I registered for a class until it was too late ) and then school got in the way when it came to registering and finding time to do it again. I figured I would put it off until this coming spring, but this weekend the stars aligned and found out I would be making the motorcyclists pilgrimage to deals gap mid march. ... or so I hope. I called the BMV to see when the the first skills test would be held and I was told it wouldn't be until April? so that blows. I checked the ODPS website I noticed they say registration starts feb. 6th, but it doesn't say when the first session actually is. So, does anyone remember from last year when about the first session was. I pray its was before march 16th.

Instead of dropping a shoulder like on a street bike, you push the dirt bike down and away. make sure to wear a helmet and a good pair of boots. A special type of tree grows along the sides of trails that can magically move in-front of you

Fox19 didn't need to do a study to figure that out. just 5 minutes on I-71 between Fields Ertal and the 275 exchange is enough proof to show 1 in 5 drivers can't drive. I particularly like the the "I'm in the fast lane and need to merge over 3 lanes of rush hour traffic to get on 275 even though I knew for the last 5 miles that I needed to get over, and I refuse to use my blinker" move. Wankers...

Did the 25 mile hike to kettering this morning. A tab bit cold, but at least it was calm.

Whats up everyone! I'm Rick! 4 weeks ago I bought my first street bike, a 2005 SV 650N. I'm new to the streets, but not to motorcycles. I've been riding on the dirt for the past 8 years. I started to ride competitively 2 years ago, starting out with a small harescramble, then moved up to the ACES enduro series races. I had to cut that endeavor short due to my time constraints being that I'm also going to school at the university of Cincinnati for mechanical engineering technology. So I did the next best thing, put the dirt bike up for sale and bought a street bike! Found a gem of a SV at my local dealer, Clinton County Motorsport. It fit me like a glove and the price was right, so I could not pass it up. In the last month, I've put about 600 miles tearing up the back-roads of Waynesville, Lebanon, Oregonia, and Spring valley. I'm looking forward to engaging with fellow Ohio riders.
