Yeah the pan is cheap to retain factory k member. If I go with a tubular I can use the stock pan I'm pretty sure. I will be using this car for more autocross the. Strip so want it to be able to do both effectively. Here is a 04 gt with a coyote. He has a new best of 11.08 but can't find the video

6,300 for the crate motor the. 1,600 for the control pack. Headers, oil pan, powerstering bracket, a/c bracket, return fuel system and its turn the key to a 11 second car.

My parents got a quote for there's. i think there driveway is 100' long 10 wide till it gets to the back of the house where is spreads to 20' where the garage is. There quote was north of 14k

Well it had no compression. It over heated massively enough to melt the knock Sensor and make the overflow tank bulge massively. After pullin the water pump off and the bearings being trashed my guess is water pump failure and over heated massively. Lady said she was driving down 270 when all a sudden it just lost all power. I'd bet it also massively pushed he head gaskets as even the intake was full of colant oil mix. Ironically. The chains and teninors in it are in great shape. I have a extra set of heads for it if someone wanted to build a good motor out of it but in sure heads on it are warped massively lol.

i picked up a 04 explorer last month for 550 bucks with 120,7xx miles that needed a motor. i had it towed home where it set for 2 weeks while i went back in fourth on either to rebuild the motor or just drop another in. needless to say after diving into how to time the damn thing i decided option 2 was better. i got lucky and found a motor from an 04 with only 66k on it. paid 850 for the motor and 50 bucks in gas to go out to bfe and pick it up. i put new valve cover gaskets on it and swapped over my intake and fuel rails and tb as mine is a flex fuel motor and the one i got was not. got it all finished up last night and today went out and put a 150 miles on it today. so far total investment is around 1,700 bucks in it. now the best part of this is i can now put the mustang in garage and start on it. for the mustang ive been debating on either turbo 2v or a 4v swap from a termi. but after driving a new 5.0 gt and loving the response of the new coyote motors ive decided a coyote motor is what needs to find it way into the engine bay of my new edge. 400-420 rwhp all motor will be just about perfect for what i want to car to do. now my plans for it are going to start with tearing the motor and trans out and sending it out to have the 1/4 fixed and repaint. after that im going to pull the rear out and have 3.73's installed and a new posi unit as mine is not worth a damn. suspension wise im still up in the air. i want it to handle well enough to have fun with it for autocross some track days here and there but also still be able to do 1/4 mile every now and then as well as it be good street car. prefer to stay away from coil overs because no i not a thing about them though lol. ill let cr help me when the time comes for suspension choice. http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r740/ryan3637/explorer3_zps726312ae.jpg http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r740/ryan3637/explorer1_zps3cbb5bd7.jpg http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r740/ryan3637/explorer2_zpsa116c1a4.jpg

I picked up a new motor for my 04 explorer last week and I just about have the old motor out. Have to wait till Tomm so I can try and find the tool to get the fan off. Damn autozone tool was so bent it's to big for it. Now my problem is the radiator is gummed up with block seal it seems. I already got new hoses for it but I do not want to get any of this into the new motor as its a low miliage one and cost a shit ton. Anyone on here have the abailty to boil it to clean it out? All the local radator shops in doubt can fit in in Tomm as most are only open a few hours and I'd like to get this thing all together by tomm night. Mustang is killing me in gas with the motor hurt. Trying to avoid buying an autozone special radiator that's made by spectra

Good luck with it. Seen the car. Super clean.

our 05 was very good with the 4 cyl on gas but the all but common sterring suspenion pops when turning the wheel and the sqeaks and rattles of the interior i refused to drive it. ( worse then a fox body no joke ) wasnt very comfoy for me to drive on long trips. trip to wv was hell stright there and stright back.

ok thank you. timing this motor looks like a massive pain and i really dont want to set it up wrong. damn cheapest ive found was 180 for the kit. if someone has this tool ill happily throw them 50 bucks or whatever to borrow the tool or the day. orrrr if someone wants to time it...more money and beer..... or walk me through as i do it.
-
what all tools are needed to time this thing? pulling the motor out this weekend then getting all the parts to start this. the mustang just devopled somemssive oil consumtion problem so i need to get this fixed so i can put the mustang in the garage and build another motor lol.

650 edelbrock 150 obo. Holley Fuel pressure regulator 25 bucks never used.
-
Need one for my 2000 gt anyone have one?
-
Yeah getting it all. Anyone have all te specitly tools for it to time it i can borrow/rent from someone for the day
-
Who here has done the time chains on a 4.0 from a 04 explorer? I'm getting ready to pull the motor on my explorer to rebuild it. The timing on it looks like a pain in the add with chain front of motor and the back. Could use a little help.
-
Cast crank though. This what was in your gt before?
-
is there a company I can call to cross reference the cobra piston part number and get a similar piston this way? also why do the 03/04 cobras show a grade 2 and grade 3 on there pistions. what the difference? ive built a few push rod motors just never a 4v mod motor. ill have a buddy help me with the heads and assembly of that and timing chains as it looks massively intimidating to me lol.
-
your right. probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a machine shop tank the block and just do it right the first time. save money in the end. ok new plan. im going to use coyote rods, a 03/04 crank if I can find one and for pistons I just need something similar to the 03/04 cobra as I don't plan to use anything other then stock cams.
