who was your service person? the tech is very nice to deal with that has the durango in his bay. been talking and working with him on trying to figure it out. i just call and ask to talk to him now. it seems to really piss the service adviser off anyways. 7 days now. what really pisses me off is that there not making my vehicle a priority. i understand that your busy in the shop but my temp tag expires on Friday and i still need to get it inspected. i really do not feel like having to get it towed to be inspected. and i can not get plates until then since its a Kentucky title.

the previous owner would of been the one that paid the sales tax when he bought it. you took over payments. so you havnt paid sales tax. you just made his payment to pay it off. now as the new owner you are responsible for the sales tax on bikes value. state didnt get there cut on you taking over his payments. so now they want there cut.

It's a close tie with Pete so far. I went down there and talked to the service tech that has been working on it. Said he wants to try replacing the distributor gear as it had some play. Told me fuel sync is all synced up at 0 through -1 while running so now it's a timming issue but fuel sync problem is settled. And I know the timming chain isn't the issue as I heard this motor run for 20 mins before It was pulled. So at this point I'm goin to sum it up with I hate the magnum motor and wait till Monday or Tuesday and see what they has figured out. Being a 97 motor the 97 did have a common issue with the distributor drive gear from what I'm told so hopefully that is it but I don't see why it would be when it ran fine before it was pulled and put into the Durango unless by me removing the dist. Has somehow dis logged the gear from its happy home and now it's jumping around

agred. read up. i found this when i was looking into buying a 6.0 powerstroke and decided to stay away from a 6.0 and just wait a little longer till i could find the right 7.3 for me and also pay cash. the 6.0 is a decent motor if your willing to put some money into it right away to save your ass down the road. i decided to sterr clear because i would be paranoid driving it know that at any moment i could be sitting on a 5k repair bill on a truck i would still be paying on. if not get a 7.3 still get atleast 20mpg on the highway. http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/general-6-0l-discussion/204386-write-up-bullet-proofing-6-0l-psd.html this is good area to look. shows all the down falls of the different ford diesels as well as a break down of common issues to look for. http://leftcoastdiesel.com/wordpress/?page_id=79 also check out mid west diesel. a buddy of mine and his dad always buy there trucks from there. ( they have bought 3 so far in the past 2 years ) usually have some pretty decent deals. right now they dont really have a 6.0 id buy but they do have a nice 7.3 with high miles for under 10k. have 5k saved up to be safe to put into the 6.0 then you wont regret it. id love another superduty as well. i had a nice black 99 superduty. but it had the v10. talk about piss poor mileage. so ill wait a year or so till i have the cash and pick up a crew cab shortbed 7.3

has anyone ever done business with this dealership? i have my durango there right now in there service center and needless to say after 2 and 1/2 days of what i was told would take 2 hours tops im getting mildly frustrated. mainly. the service mangers ass hole attitude and talks to me as if his bitch. on top of that. how damn hard is it to call me before you start fucking with shit. he is now telling me that it is running worse after they fucked with the distributor. i asked him where was the intermediate shaft pointing when they pulled the distributor out and he responds. ( im not sure i didnt ask the tech that ) at least when i brought it in it could be driven. im told it runs even worse now. but then again as soon as i try to ask a question he feels as if our conversation is over and hangs up the fucking phone. anyways anyone else had a piss poor experience with the service manger there as well?

what dealership did you take it to?

at this point i am stumped at to what i am doing wrong with this thing. i replaced the motor and i broke the dis in the process. dropped a new one in and from what im reading ive done it 100% wrong. online its saying the dis is used to set the fuel syn and i can not get it to work. does anyone on here have the super fucking expensive scanner to set fuel sync and know how to do this in a dodge? id rather pay someone on here to help me before i pay for the thing to get towed to a dealership to be fixed.

-
nope. its a driver.
-
i did, i re gasketed it and put a new oil pump in it.
-
well i made a simple but stupid mistake. put the valve covers on the wrong side so i have vacum lines mixed up. going to swap the valve covers to there correct side and hopefully that will fix my idling issues. i noticed i have some vacum lines mixxed up.
-
yeah, she keeps me on a my feet right now lol. ill get a few motor pictures of her tomm.
-
new motor is in and runs. but i either have timming issues or a vacum lean or possible i didnt get the intake gaskets sealed. ok well now the durango runs but not perfectly. first was a timing off. got that sorted out but now it is acting like it has a vacuum leak and running rich as hell. i have sprayed carb cleaner all around the lower intake and the tb vacuum lines ect and makes no difference. still have to either bring the rpms up to keep it running or feather the gas peddle. think its possible the belly pan gasket didnt get sealed? i replaced them all and that was my first time on a dodge motor so its a good possibility. sound like something that would be a belly pan or what else can i check before i pull the intake off? http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/motorin.jpg has a hair under 80 psi of oil pressure at cold idle. photo cut if off for some reason http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/durangoruns.jpg

nope it was put into a 24ft box truck along with the engine hoist and engine stand lol.

well i drove a little over 300 miles today starting at 9 am looking around at dogs and puppy's. then last min when i had just about given up i found this girl on craigslist in Lancaster and back on the road we went. pulled up and got out of the car and she ran right up to us. basically was love at first sight. she is lab mix. mother was a full blooded black lab. father is un know. maybe retriever or chow? not sure. she picked her own name. while at pets mart getting puppy food, a bed for her, some toys and a leash and collar she bite onto a Harley collar thus her name. Harliegh. she is 6 weeks old we were told and loves to play. she is passed out in her bed and i am puppy proofing the house now. laptop cords, phone cords ect. lots to do. this is my first puppy so big learning curve for me. So far she loves the 2 cats and they are taking to her pretty well. They are starting to play together. i know its not a husky but after seeing a few of them and spending some time with them we decided we should really wait on a husky. im very happy with her. Will be making her a vet appointment on Monday for something this week for her to get a check up and her first round of shots. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/harliegh.jpg

there great when there running great when not. they are TERRIABLE after the experience i had with my audi i said id never own another German car. well that was wrong. women ended up wanting a jetta really bad so i traded in my jeep that had 200k on it and got a 07 jetta wolfsburg edition with the 2.5 within 3 weeks of ownership it had been on a tow truck 4 times. the 3rd time i was majorly pissed as i was 120 miles away from home ( at 1 am mind you ) with then pos decided to die. to a tune of a 438.30 tow bill. luckily the warranty covered the repair which ended up being a pinched wire to the main fuse panel under the dash. whiched required the whole interior to be tore apart to be fixed. dash and all. i paid my 100.00 deductible and it was fixed. repair was close to 1k. so im glad i opted for the 1,500 warranty. it covered the first 3 tow bills with the exception of the 80 bucks of it plus the majorly expensive tow bill the last time. after this car i told her no more. luckily it has been going strong since. this was also a 1 owner car. local trade in. that was serviced be the dealer since day 1. was bought with low miles as well. thats my experience with German cars and it hasn't been a good one. i will say though all around it is a nice car. rides nice. interior is great quality. gas mileage of the 2.5 5 cyl isnt the best though. not sure on them v6's.
