    The on site store will bum you out. Not a lot of stock. Federal law says they can only sell through traditional distribution. So the distillery sells to the distributor and then their store buys it back.

    They don't even own the store, they can't.

    Not an easy find these days but I always have one on the shelf at the house. Glad you enjoyed your time there!  I need to plan a trip this summer/fall.

    Feel at the lever can be adjusted, too as each unit comes with the ability to set the lever ratio in three positions. This effectively gives you the ability to reduce or increase the piston’s bore (from a power perspective) by 1mm above or below the stock piston size (Piston diameter 18 mm = 17 to 19 mm ). You’ll be able to attenuate feel at the lever for your preferred riding needs.

    And the lever itself is a folding affair for added impact resistance. The pivot is secured with a titanium bolt. The same material is used for the bolts that affix the entire unit to the handlebar, too, further reducing weight.

A three-way intake is set top and center on this helmet in a way that, even with the chinbar locked in the fully-upright position, this intake still draws air into the helmet.     And if you’re looking for (relatively) quiet comfort, we’ll point out the bottom of the comfort liner – specifically, the parts the cover your cheeks and chin. The liner, itself a fully-removable affair, is built with a curtain that surrounds the lower part of your head to keep noise out, prevent updrafts into the helmet, and otherwise keep the air in front of your face still where your head would otherwise be in the wind.  There’s also a rubber gasket that surrounds the faceshield when it’s closed to further stabilize the environment inside the helmet when you need it most –it keeps rain and wind out no matter how fast you ride.

  6. Have you looked at your bike’s brake master cylinder lately? If it looks like you’re brewing tea in there, it’s time to replace that brake fluid.

    We recommend Motul RBF 600. This DOT-4 spec brake fluid is the same stuff we’ve used in our own race bikes, and it’s more than up to the task of stopping your street bike. A 594F boiling point means no brake fade or vapor lock, no matter how spirited the riding gets.

  10. Now that winter doldrums have taken over a large swath of the country, it’s time to take a closer look at your offroad machine’s drivetrain … specifically, its chain and sprockets.

    That shark fin look, while nifty, isn’t a harbinger of good riding, but rather an indicator that your chain’s best days are pretty much over. Check out the photo below. If you pull your chain off the bike, and you can stand it up like a snake – best get a replacement before that chain wraps itself around the front sprocket, pierces the engine case and gets you stuck out on a moto (at best) or the far side of an ORV trail (much, much worse).

     

    We have complete Renthal chain kits available for just about every dirtbike. These kits come with an Italian-made chain and British-made sprockets.

     

    Renthal’s rear chainwheels, as our friends across the pond want call them, are built using high-quality materials and are available with standard all-aluminum construction,  or a TwinRing design (depicted herein)  that features an aluminum carrier with a steel toothed ring. The result is sprocket that’s only slightly heavier than an-all aluminum affair, but with the longevity of a steel rear sprocket.

     

    All Renthal front sprockets are designed to be as light as possible, and just like their rear sprockets, they use tooth design that’s exceptional for throwing off dirt and mud for increased chain and sprocket life.

  11. One of the most durable fender bags we’ve seen come through the shop, Giant Loop’s fender bag is built using a 500 denier tarpaulin chassis with RF-welded seams. When the open end is properly rolled shut, you can expect everything inside to stay dry, free of dust, mud and snow.

    Built using a combination of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide hinges set on the outside of a breathable mesh lining, the internal bio-mechanical ankle brace works with the outer structure of the allows free movement of the foot, on or off the bike. The double-hinged inner and outer torsion bars give greater impact protection to the ankle by progressively absorbing flex and rotation stress, reducing pressure and hyper-extension injury to the lower leg joints in the event of a hard hit to the ground. You simply put this on before slipping your foot into the boot.

    The outer shell employs shields of TPU material on the shin and heel. These ergonomically-shaped parts wrap around to outer calf and heel to dissipate impact energy across a larger part of the boot, and the foot within, these mitigate the force of impact when everything goes wrong. Ventilated swatches of Alpinestars-formulated microfiber cover the spaces in between and, at the toe-end of things, are capped off by a set of replaceable TPU/Aluminium toe sliders. These sliders use an easy screw fixing scheme that protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion.

    Starting from within, each X-Fourteen helmet is fashioned around a highly-engineered, fully-removable comfort liner and cheek pads. These pieces effectively pull moisture off your head and keep you cool while you make way through the apex, or the toll booth.  The (now-standard) emergency quick release system EQRS cheek pads allow for, not only a secure fit of the helmet, but also a faster, safer removal of the lid should the rider need careful attention after a crash. All of this is snuggled inside a dual-layer, multi-density EPS foam liner that absorbs impact energy in a fall, while effectively aiding in the delivery of cooling air straight to the scalp.

    For maximum safety, helmet sizing is critical, that’s why Shoei employs four different shell sizes in the X-Fourteen range to fit extra-small to XX-large heads. The shell itself, which uses six layers of hand-laid, varying materials, provides the right mix of rigidity and flexibility not typically seen in a fiberglass helmet, or that of a plastic shell. The result is a SNELL-approved helmet that almost certainly looks like it’s been developed in a wind tunnel (it was!). The shape is carefully engineered to provide effective rider ventilation without calling into question safety. Riders that spend a lot of time at the track will appreciate the minimal buffeting at speed in a helmet that doesn’t push the head around as much as lesser designs.

    Each helmet is build using a proven polycarbonate/ABS plastic shell with integrated, rider-adjustable vents on the chin, forehead and scalp. These intakes are complimented on the aft top and sides to draw air through the helmet and out the rear while you’re on the throttle.
