  1. I was to. I don't have stuff in my underwear.
  2. Now now now, let's not be paranoid. I own 3 50's and tons of ammo and fly all over the country, only get BATFE visits every other year (normal dealer audits) and the stuff in my underwear may smell but it will not blow up. I am registered with Ohio Ordnance works (originaters of the deal) and the price on the 82A1's is $6400 which isn't a bad deal. Great gun to piss of your neighbors!

    Sks mags

31 rounds is the limit in Ohio. Like said before, you can own a higher cap and the gun but become ileagle when put together. You can buy and sell them in Ohio (AIM will sell to Ohioians). That all being said, be careful what mag you buy as most are hit and miss at best for the SKS rifles. The metal 30 rounders are junk and don't waist you money. The Tapco 20 rounders are the best and have a lifetime warranty and do not need fitting. I have sold them for years and never had one come back for any reason and I have tried them on every SKS I own (I collect them and have one of every kind made). Now comes my next point. If you buy larger cap mags, do not think you now have a AK with rapid fire capabilities as you can burn up you gas system with sustained fire. The good thing about the 10 round factory mag is you have to stop to reload and the gun can cool down and you do not go through as much ammo.
  4. Try military surplus guns. Great guns, cheap to buy, cheap to shoot, have history behind them and go up in value. Since they go up in value and are good investments, the wife don't care if I buy them. My kimbers and evil black guns drop in price as soon as you pull the trigger and takes years before they are in the ball park of what you paid. I have guns I bought 10 years ago for$50 that are now worth $500. 450 guns later, I have a start on a retirement fund I can play with!
  5. There will be a gunshow at the Hara arena on the 10/11th. What better way to show patriotism on this day than to buy a gun! I run the Family Firearms tables so stop by and say hi!
  6. Look to see when the gun was made. Earlier LCP's had the hiccups like the Kel Tecs had and now the Tarus is having. Ruger did several updated on angles and spring weights to get It right and if you have problems, send it back as it needs to work every time as a self-defense gun. Accessional jams are not acceptable (can be ammo batch related) even for a back up gun. Shoot a lot of different ammo to see what it likes and shoot that ammo until you are proficient with it as all ammo will have a different POI. +1 on the ramp polishing but becarful to not change ramp angle as it will greatly effect function.
  7. There is no one gun or combos that do everything and you do get what you pay for. That said, have you checked out any gunshows? Used guns can be a great value as other people have been in the same boat as you, bought guns and grew out of them. Do to finances or wives, sell them to up grade and as most guns, they devalue as soon as you pull the trigger ( my Kimber lost $200 as soon as I pulled the trigger). Decent used shotguns are fairly cheap and there are dozens of decent .22's are valued priced as well. You could get a 12 GA and a .22 for a couple hundred bucks. Also look at ammo prices, since 12GA is the most popular caliber, there are more options and is cheaper than 20 GA and a lot cheaper than 410. A good 12GA is also the best home defense weapon you can have. Most shotguns have several different barrels available so you can just switch barrels for slug hunting, longer ones for bird hunting or fun skeet shooting and you can find those used as well.
  8. Is the Swiss a K31 or 1911? Condition, matching numbers?
  9. Yes, I have 54R and a ton of hand picked Mosin's as well. I try to have other surplus ammo as well as some of the standard calibers. We are even closer to you as we are 8 miles east of Oxford on SR73. I will pm you our shop number.
  10. After lurking around for a while, I have registered to this forum. The information I have received here has been very helpful And seems to be a good place to meet like minded people in the same state. I am 47 and a retired commercial painter/restoration contractor. I now own my own firearms company who specialize in hand picked C&R guns, ammo and accessories. We do the Bill Goodman gun shows from fall to spring as it is the busy time and it gives me all summer to ride.
