  1. I have a set of Hepco-Becker hard cases that are in good condition but without keys.

It's the Enduro set of their "Junior" cases. The left side is 40l the right is 30l.

They are currently mounted on my SW Motech racks, but I will separate if you're interested.

    $150 picked up in Brooklyn.

  2. I wrote this article about a guy who did a track day for the first time when he was in his late 50s.

Now he's 74 and doing about 10 track days a year.

So be forewarned: It can be addictive.

    Good read motociclista.

It's encouraging to hear stories like that where age isn't a limiting factor. In my case, I think I'm more concerned about my inexperience with riding in general and not so much that I'm older.

Looking forward to to seeing how addictive it can actually get for me! An "off" would kill the buzz for me fairly quick. So you'll see me well within my limits and trying to learn as I go.

  3. Yeah some 70+ year old guy was riding Mid O the first day I ever did a track day. He had RODE from Cali to OH because he wanted to hit as many tracks as he could doing track days. He was on a GSXR, FACT, with luggage. Showed up in leathers, and was railing it in Int.

50 ain't got nothing on that dude, you'll love it.

Lol, yes I'm looking forward to some spirited riding. However I can pretty much guarantee it won't be anywhere near the velocities that guy on the gixxer was capable of. Much respect.

Well to be honest it's not so much the age thing. My concern was being away from riding for so long. That and I know I'm not a good rider which is why I'd like to learn in a controlled environment.

  4. Well I turned 50 last month so I'm already off to a late start, but I really would like to at least try a track day.

2 years ago and 30 years since I sold my last bike, I picked up an SV1000S. That is what I would be using.

So I don't have a ton of experience and have never been on a track, but would love to try a few novice classes with someone giving me pointers. I'm not really looking at burning up the track just some critique to help me be a smoother and safer rider.

I live near Cleveland and don't have a trailer so Nelson Ledges would probably work best.

How do I sign up? Thanks, Steve

  5. looks a lil lopsided... glws

Thanks. Oh it not only looks lopsided, it is. I got the cases used to mount on the rack. The left case is 40l, the right is 30l. They are called "Enduro" style for mounting on bikes with a high exhaust on one side. The smaller bag clears the pipe and all is well.

I looked at buying the opposite "Enduro" set thus having 2 large and 2 smaller bags. After a couple days riding like this it didn't bother me enough to spend the $ though.

  6. I'm selling a complete touring setup for an '03 SV1000.

SW Motech quick release rack system with Alu-rack top rack.

Hepco Becker hard cases. Enduro style, 40l left and 30l right.

Very good condition. Still mounted on my bike until sold.

    $350 complete. located near Cleveland

  7. your forks (if i remember correctly) cannot be adjusted externally.

    your shock can however.

i can find out what your sag is, and then you could take that info and make that adjustment by increasing or decreasing the spacer size.

i believe the SV650 forks are non adjustable. mine is an SV1000 with preload, compression and rebound adjusters.

I've tried playing around with all that, put a new front spring in, put a rear shock on and it still never feels right.

That's mainly why I'd like to take it someplace and have it redone. By somebody that's able to set it up correctly.

The downside is it has to be near Cleveland.

  8. Wow, I for one would be all over this!

Already put correct springs in my SV, but not sure if oil level is correct or even if I did the spacers correctly.

The rear shock was replaced with a ZX-10 shock which is generally considered an "upgrade" for my SV. But again I'm not sure if it's setup correctly.

Are my forks set at the correct height? Are my wheels aligned?

I love riding this bike. That is as long as it's in a straight line with no bumps.

Throw some curves in and I'd just as soon dismount and walk.

I'm not a racer, but my suspension needs HELP!

I'd be willing to pay for the extra service I need. Any possibility of doing an event near Cleveland?

  9. Leave the restaurant. A bunch of people did so.

The guy killed 2 and wounded 1. i heard he had to go to three different locations in the restaurant to hunt down and kill/attempt to kill his family. (wife at register, one daughter in bathroom, another in the party room.) After seeing a gun and hearing the first shot, I would feel obligated to step in and defend others. Let the courts sort out the details later...

  10. I have an "enduro" set of luggage where one side is smaller to allow fitment clearance for exhaust.

My SV has dual exhaust and luggage is tucked in next to sub-frame evenly on both sides.

So the result is an unbalanced look with a 40 liter left bag and 30 liter right. I want to end up with a set of 30's

They are the Hepco Becker Junior cases.

I know it's a stretch trying to find somebody that wants to trade but giving it a shot...
