  1. Considering the circumstances and since there were two witnesses (at least) to what happened I think you at minimum should call or visit that county's prosecutor and offer your story just in case the guy is already known to them, and let them decide if there's grounds to file a case. At least then there is a record of you reporting it.

  2. Job, your life, your friends and familys life either way people are going to fuck with their phones reguardless of the law. Just like you are gonna be a "in control and paying attention" idiot when someone cuts you off and you get your "revenge"

I know this is a hopeless argument but I'm stuck in a hotel until 7am tomorrow and I have nothing to do

There has to be something to do besides a hopeless argument. :jd:

  3. I'll go the opposite on whether a motorcycle cop will enforce something on your motorcycle. Yes, they know how to ride, and are perfectly willing to explain it to you. They will pull you over. (And explain it to you.)

Just an example, nothing more. One m/c may lane split routinely and think it's okay, next city over no way.

It's up to their interpretation, experience and what they'll tolerate.

  4. Although there may not be a specific statute addressing lane splitting in a particular state what will likely happen is law enforcement will either interpret existing statutes to cite you for it or not, depending on what they are accustomed to doing in their jurisdiction or from their own experience. A motorcycle cop may overlook it, a township cop or a deputy may not.

For instance consider a common circumstance where at a stoplight there is no right turn only lane, yet people go off onto the shoulder to get around stopped cars to do a right turn on red. If the shoulder is marked and has a sign stating "do not drive on marked shoulder" and you do it in front of a cop, you are getting ticketed. If it isn't marked, you probably will get away with it but if you cause an accident they could interpret any of a number of statutes to cite you with.

  5. Ok my Cousin has a bike in his garage and was there when he bought the house, they contacted the guy that owned the house and he had since passed away. After such he contacted the children of the man and they dont have title and dont want anything to do with the bike. How would someone go about getting a title for the bike?

First thing would be to find out if in fact the bike belonged to the deceased man. If it did, then next thing to be determined is who is his next of kin (spouse, child, etc). If he had a beneficiary then it's going to be a different process than if his case went through probate.

  6. I would pass em up, but I also break the law every time I hit the roads... Except on my bike(for now atleast)

I was talking bout the legal/right way to do it. Not the logical/law breaking way to do it....

1mph over.the speed limit is still breaking the law, some areas have speed traps. I usually blow by cops at 10mph over in the left lane without so much as a glance. All my tickets are 20mph+ over the limit.

I see your profile says you're down in Dayton. That makes me happy.

Ride smart, be safe, take care of yourself brother.

  7. In a situation like that you do what makes sense. If you can safely accelerate away from someone like that, do it. If you need to slow down and force them to move on, you do that.

I am not big on lane splitting, but I'll be damed If I'm going to sit boxed in by idiots who all want to jockey for position till they run into each other or ME. I am also not against doing 55 mph in the right lane to force them to go left and pass me.

These situations would not exist if they followed the 5 simple rules.;)

    What he said.

a motorcycle has better brakes, more speed, more maneuverability than any cage . It's up to the rider to know which to use in a situation.

  8. He will just say you should of slowed down instead of speed up. Guessing you never took drivers Ed :dunno:

I cant take the highway anyhow now, as of today they blocked 35 east to 75... I was pissed when they blocked off my exit home forcing me to take the backways home, now im forced to take the backways to work... Eta 9mo... If its anything like their last 9mo project it will take 3years to get it 1/2assed done...

I'm guessing When I took drivers ed you were just a twinkle in your moms eye.

I never said the cops would agree with me. If someone in a cage is pacing you there's the option to either slow down or pass. If youre on a road that has a passing lane slowing down may not be your best option.

  9. I'll say one thing about the passing lane and speed limits. If someone is pacing me in a car or truck I'm getting around them and away from them. If I exceed the speed limit so be it. I will explain to the cops later why I refuse to stay in the persons blind spot.

  10. Perfectly understand flipping the bird unless there's small children in the car. Screaming, yelling and blowing the horn at the offending driver is good too if they've driven into your space and tried to kill you, but there's no sense in staying close enough to their vehicle in order to dish out some revenge.

Get away from them, regain composure and watch out for the next one.
