  1. I have some Joe Rocket mesh Phoenix pants that are nice and cool in the summer. They have some armor like the mesh Phoenix jacket. Can't say as to how they will hold up but my wife's Phoenix jacket held up well in her accident several years ago. Unfortunately, it didn't help protect her pelvis which was broken in 2 places (she's fine now).

That's what concerns me, protection without being soaked with sweat on warm days when off the bike.

My only solution so far is chaps over knee length shorts.

  2. Bump,

Also if someone is going to be making the gap trip and they do not have a nice protective jacket i would be willing to donate this to someone in need! Do not show up in a new BMW or some shit and tell me you are in need though!

Ha that's honest and funny at the same time.

  3. I've been in the information technology business for many years and dealt with just about every brand name of laptop computer. As a former toshiba factory warranty technician I can tell you stay far far away from them unless you purchase the extended warranty especially with the big box store models. After you have taken apart a few hundred of them you begin to see what I mean. The quality just isn't there.

I've had marginal luck with some models of lenovos but I say the better ones to get are dells your purchase from dell and not the big box stores.

  4. In my opinion the key is to ensure the weight of the load on the trailer falls in front of the axle(s) just enough so you have tongue weight that prevents the trailer from tipping back and staying there but not so much that you drop the tow vehicle's rear end down more than an inch or so.

As far as bearings, the only way I know how to pack is with grease in one palm and a bearing in the other hand. Don't rely on a bearing buddy to get grease to those inner ones. They are the hardest to get to when they fail.

  5. $8 adult admission that goes to the foundation and there was hardly anyone there today. It's not a huge museum but the bikes themselves were worth the cost as well as all the Packards and local history. I'd go again just to look at the old oil cans and gas pumps. I didn't take nearly enough photos of the cars.

  6. And that's the answer I was looking for. I have also heard that java is incompatible? Is this true?

now i just need to find it cheapest. Sony has their $100 off, which will be hard to beat.

The Java runtime environment? No, it's not supported in android but I don't think you'll miss it (unless you're studying java programming). Whatever functionality java websites gave you previously, most likely you'll find an app to replace it.

  7. Apple fanboy? Check. :D

App market? Check. Or so I hope. It's android. That means it can get android

apps, right? Well, I hope. it can get games from the playstation network thing.

Not necessarily. Some tablets that are android based are locked into either Amazon or Barnes & Nobles or other manufacturer app stores. It depends on their customization of the android O/S and you would have to root the device to get around that.

I do believe though that the model you're looking at is full android market.

If you have or create a google account, you'll also have access to google documents which is compatible with MS office files and honeycomb has support for adobe reader, flash etc. so you should be fine there.

  8. So how old do you have to be? How many tattoos do I need to ride a Harley? I'm 60,Too old for a sport bike? I joined up at 43 and I wish I would have done it sooner. My wife and I have had some of the best times in our life on the Wing. Don't ride one if you don't want one and if you don't want one don't let your wife ride on one. The 1800's handle alot better than the 1500 and have a little more power but the 1500 is quite capable. This is ours.We have traveled every state east of the Miss. River and camped in several.

    Nice. ;)

  9. I just purchased an Acer Iconia off ebay yesterday after researching and watching/reading reviews of android tablets (which included Sonys).

Knowing the reputation of Sony electronics, especially the Vaio line of computers I don't think you can go wrong by buying one.

I've used an android phone for over a year now, and have to say it's the best phone I've ever owned. I'm not an Apple fanboy or even an Apple supporter because I don't care for the high cost of the brand name or the locked down nature of their operating systems and applications. Having said that, the high cost does also buy you a quality product and quality service with Apple if you ever need it.

Google Android gives names to each operating system version they roll out. The current one is "Honeycomb" the next will be "Ice Cream Sandwich" and typically you'll want your device to be capable of upgrading to the latest and greatest for awhile. The specs should tell you that, or you can always check reviews of the device you're looking at on numerous forums and youtube videos.

As far as apps and games, make sure your choice supports the full android market and doesn't restrict you to Amazon or elsewhere. You can check the Android Market at market.android.com and see if the games / apps you are interested in are there.
