  1. I'm definitely down for April 14th. Whether it's paintball or just an event / get together.
  2. They all look like good ideas. I'm going to look up some food events in the area and let you know what I come back with. Also... Paintball in our motorcycle helmets
  3. Maybe Fricker's in Middletown? We can all get some wings and beer. I've only lived in the area for a year so if anyone has better ideas for a place and time toss em out there.
  4. I kinda stay close but to one side so at least if I get smashed from behind I'll shoot off to the side
  5. That's my worst fear. Getting trucked over by some soccer mom. I hate being the first one sitting at a light, I'd rather tuck in behind someone really close so at least they see the person in front of me and slow down.
  6. I'm pretty sure the 250 can't do a wheelie, lol. Maybe if I pop the clutch and pull up reallllly hard. Doesn't matter tho, I wont be trying it. I like to keep things in one piece That said though, it's not as slow as some of you might think. I saw someone saying it can't out accelerate an SUV which I don't think is true. I drive a BMW 330xi and the bike has slightly more acceleration but doesn't come close to the top speed of the BMW. As far as maneuverability I'm not to sure on. You can whip a car around at speed but you have much less options if a wreck were about to happen. It's either the ditch or swerve into other lanes. The bike may give you more outs and when in doubt you can always ditch the bike. I have a buddy that moved to Alaska a few years ago and had to leave his 08 Yamaha R6 down here in a garage. It hasn't been ridden since 2009 and he's okay with me riding it so once I get more experience I may go pull that thing out so I can feel the power and weight differences between bikes.
  7. Edit: Group Meet April 14th in Lebanon! See thread... http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=90945 All I see are group meets for other areas! I would love to attend a group ride or meeting in the next few weeks for the Southwest Area. I work 12 hours on Sunday so I'm down for a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday! I did just see a Dayton meet up thread I missed at the beginning of the month. Maybe set up a meet somewhere along 75 between Dayton and Cincy? Middletown Area possibly? Anyone else down for a Southwest meet or have suggestions?
  8. bahahaha. I love that episode of South Park
  9. Cool. Took a little ride around the block to try this out after reading your comment. Bike moves back and forth more than I want it to but I don't feel like I'm losing control.
  10. Riding in the wind today felt like it was trying to push the bike out from under me. Sucked so I'll wait till tomorrow to ride
  11. What usually causes the wobble? Brake locking up?
  12. I haven't leaned enough to rub it off the whole tire while riding. I will clean off the sides of the tires when I get home. I can definitely tell the release agent is there still.
  13. Half tempted to post a looking for love ad on Craigslist with that number
  14. Haha I figured. Although they were pretty harsh when I took my regular driving test. In Lebanon I stopped at a stop sign then had to pull up and stop again because I couldn't see around the corner and they deducted points. Easily passed but w/e. Anyways... back on topic... I had to make a hard stop today at a light and did what (forget who) told me in this thread to do. On both brakes hard but not all the way as to lock them up. Stopped pretty quickly, good advice for a n00b. Good to know that in the "oh shit" moments I still remember what you guys have said. Love the experiences everyone is sharing.
  15. Has anyone done the standard test to get your motorcycle endorsement instead of the MSF course? Is it pretty simple? (I do plan on doing the MSF course, just curious)
  16. Yeah. I'll make sure to let whoever I ride with I'm a n00b so they can wait for me. hehe
  17. I can definitely see riding in a group as a problem. I wouldn't want to be left behind and would probably push past my own ability in order to keep up. I went out today for my first long ride. Rode about an hour around town and some country roads. For some reason I can't make the connection in my brain that I have to turn the turn signal off... Used to it turning itself off... Leaving it on is just asking for someone to pull out in front of me...
  18. This is good advice. I was riding in the center of the lane always. Definitely will be switching it up now.
  19. Did you go to Little Miami HS? I grew up near Morrow
  20. Right now I find myself concentrating more on riding the bike so I don't crash it and less to traffic. With experience this will change so right now I stay away from anywhere with traffic lol
