  1. I effin love Steam sales. Sadly, they lost my business on Bioshock and Bioshock 2 as Amazon had them bundled a couple weeks ago for $7.50.

Eagerly awaiting Arma II: Combined Ops + DayZ for big discount.

Wow that mod looks like a lot of fun. Anyone here playing that mod? Might be fun to fire up a Vent server and get a bandit group going.

I might wait till I see it go on a daily deal.

So far I have LA Noire, Portal 2, & The Walking Dead games to keep me occupied. But every YouTube video I watch of that damn DayZ makes me want to buy it.

    Add me on steam MiDe84

  2. I wish the guy a speedy recovery but leaving a child alone while he test drives is messed up!
So who got the kid while they were scraping calamari off the side of the church?

I think we might be a little confused from Mykill. He was referring to the guy who dumped the vstrom 650 abs into the grass after the guardrail. He was not hurt nor was the bike really damaged besides some dirt, grass, and bent passenger pegs.

The guy who crashed the GSXR 750 was alone as far as I know.

  3. Not in market to buy, no reason to demo. Sounds pretty simple to me.

I would agree with you however that is not how this event was advertised. Read through these 2 pages. Suzuki demo truck at Pony Powersports May 19th & 20th

Someone even commented that they were not interested in buying and was then told to still come out and try them all just for the fun of it.

It could have been advertised differently if all they were looking for was buyers.

The way I read the original event thread was that this was a fun day put on by suzuki to try and turn me into a potential buyer as well as get me on some bikes I would not normally consider.

  4. Was it a gsxr or a strom? Or were there two wrecks?

It was a GSXR 750 that wrecked. From what I heard someone slid off the road on the vstrom 650 abs earlier on the same corner but it just got a little dirty and the passenger peg bent. The rider was ok after that and they even let him ride the vstrom 1000. :wtf:

I rode the vstrom 650 abs on that ride and it rode great.

  5. Not to take away from the situation, if in fact there really is one since this is all based on hearsay from a text message and not a statement drop Pony themselves.... How does one crash on a dealer demo ride unless being a total tool or total noob? I say this because I have attended 2 dealer demos, only 2 because I was shopping for a bike and they were demoing ones I was deciding on. I think its lame to attend these things just to rub your ass on someone else's bike when you have no intent to buy and are not there to compare your choices. Anyway, both rides I did were guided rides with a rep in the lead, at the tail and in the middle. They were led at a snails pace along a route chosen for its lack of intersections, corners ect so there was no chance of crashing, especially a fatal crash. So I'm curious how did the crash happen, total tool not obeying the rules of the ride?

I used this event as a way of getting to see different types of bikes and to see if maybe I would be interested in something other than my sv650s. The first and only bike I rode was the vstrom 650 abs. It was actually really fun to ride. I would have never considered a bike like that before that ride. Now when I am done with the sv that will more than likely be what replaces it. Maybe that will be sooner than later since the wife hates the sv.

I did not see the crash first hand but I heard his leg was pretty messed up. From what I understand of the situation he stalled at a stop sign on Schott and E Walnut. Got it started then made a right hand turn onto E Walnut. Apparently he tried to catch up and lost it on the turn by the church. The person behind him said that he saw a black strip then the guy hit the guard rail.

This was not a blind turn nor a tricky one. I think rider panic/inexperience was the problem. More than likely he felt like he was going to fast for it locked the rear then fixed on the rail.

Here is a link to the corner in question. This is also the same corner someone dumped the vstrom 650 abs that I rode on earlier.

I hope he has a speedy recovery and takes it slower next time.

  6. So today is the first day I can actually play and what happens?

Error 33 Battle net is down.

    :fuuuu:

Graphics are just a teeeeny bit too cartoony for me. They definitely went toward the WoW color pallette and art direction (neon effects everywhere, pastel colors galore) vs the Diablo look of yore.

Beyond that - solid play mechanics. Well what I could enjoy of it after I got the wife's PC up, got it installed on my PC too, and before the servers went tits up.

Have you seen the secret level? If not im not gonna ruin it for you but I can tell you it has something to do with your post.

  7. This is a truly sad story. I really wasn't sure where to put this so I figured the off topic section would be ok.

Basically 2 guys from a company that hosts exotic car rentals went out for gas. When they returned it seems they were doing a bit of hooning around. Well they got into an accident that killed a motorcyclist who was on his way to work on his Triumph.

I really hope the guys in the Ferrari's get some prison time. Its just not fair that their inability to self control had to take someones life.

This is the same company whose owner is famous for the Super Speeders DVDs.

This reminds me to much of stories were the drunks survive horrific accidents that others died in. :nono:

    Full story here.

  8. Can someone please Paul Harvey this shit and tell us the rest of the story?

How could the cop have destroyed his night? Sounds like the beers talking? Were the 2 of you drunk riding? Super cool if so.

Ok destroyed is a bit of a harsh word. But trust me when I say it could have been worse.

No we(more than the 2 of us)were not drunk riding at all. I would never ride buzzed let alone drunk. Hell I don't even really drink now that I think about it. I have seen the results and do not wish to feel them.

I know when he got home after all this drama he had a few.

I am a simple person who minds his own so I am not going to say what else happened during the stop. If he wishes he can explain later.

I just so happened to be a nice guy and came back to help him out.

  9. Got pulled over going 5 mph down campus because my VISOR was up with no eyewear... LOL. i hope he gets shot in the fucking head tonight

Dude what the hell is wrong with you hoping he gets shot. That cop could have destroyed your nite but instead just gave you some tickets. Honestly he was pretty nice for the circumstance.

I hope that comment was just the beers talking.

Everyone else just to clear some things up he really did just get pulled over for the eye protection. We were just cruising around not going fast or revving or any other squid like behavior.

I think you left a few parts out... I know the officer in question, who is once of the most polite and professional officers at OSU.

Might want to insert what all your ticket was for before going off.

O shit I really don't want to be a part of this now. I feel like I'm going to be guilty by association for being there. Can you tell your buddy that I do not wish any harm to him and that I felt he was being professional.

Last thing I need is campus pd giving me hell cause I'm associate with someone who wishes them harm.

Sounds like threat on an officer's life to me.....

Maybe anonymous tip to the osu police to be on the look out for this guy...

I do not agree at all with the comment but I can tell you that it's not a threat.

  10. No worries at all man...just glad you stayed safe.

p.s. it's Ben, not Dan. Confusing I know..it happens often. (Or, maybe it's Jeff, depending on who you ask!)

    :busa:

Sorry Ben I promise I won't forget your name now lol.

Hey I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for sticking around and helping me out after I went down on Sunday. Also a special thanks to John for giving me a ride back home and arranging the pick-up to get the bike out of there. I haven't looked at it since we put it into the garage, but I'll tear it apart over the weekend and see what needs replacing. Hopefully I'll have it back in riding condition in the next month. As for me, a little whiplash and some sore ribs. I'm very lucky. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I'm looking forward to the next ride! You guys are a great bunch!

Thanks for posting up. I'm glad to hear that your good besides a little soreness. I live in Blacklick as well. If you need any help with tear down or build up let me know I'll be more than happy to hope over and give you a hand. Plus I have a ton a tools so don't go buyin any unless you see if I have it first. :D

  11. It was nice meeting you guys. What a bunch of some of the nicest guys iv ever met. Sorry I slowed you guys a bit. Dan special thanks to you for keeping me under your wing so to speak.

I will practice and learn to trust the bike more. Then maybe I will come out again. It was fun but I really did not like the blind turns.

I feel super bad for the zx10r guy. Thank goodness he was able to just walk away.

Now for some pictures. If anyone wishes me to take them down let me know and I will remove them.

  12. Thats cool man....be glad to see you there.

I know Cookie is meeting me at McDs in Buckeye Lake. If you guys can post where you plan to meet it'll help so we know when we have everyone.

And if you don't make it, you don't make it. But at least let us know where you plan to join up.

I'm going to be at that McDonald's. I'm shooting for 11:30. O man I'm wishing I did not go out tonight now.

  13. No problem man. I wouldn't say I ride slow but I am definitely not fast and everyone rides at their own pace. Everyones welcome.

We'll be at the Buckeye Lake McDonalds at 11:40am and KFC in Newark on 16/79 (cedar Street at noon). Hope to see ya there

And if that's you in your thumbnail.....doesn't look like you need Viagra to get it up. haha

I'm going to try and make it tomorrow. I'm down for a nice ride. I feel the same. I'm not super fast guy but my right hand does get a little itchy every now and then.

  14. ok yea in my opinion that price is far too high. Dover is about 20 mins south of where I work and I wouldn't even bother making that short drive for that price. At $2500 I'd consider it however

Well I made the gamble and I think it payed off. I drove out to Dover in a CX-7 and came back on a sv650s. :D

What a crazy first ride for my new bike. I had 3 hours of sun/night/rain/gusty winds. Kept me on my toes. When I could feel them of course.

Its a flat black 2005 sv650s with 16k miles on it. It has a full Yoshi exhaust, Fender eliminator kit that was actually installed well, Flush turn signals, Almost brand new front and rear tires, and oil just changed. The title was a repair and not salvaged so its already passed state inspection.

The bike ran like a top. All gears shift smoothly, no hesitation throughout the rpm band, and the clutch felt good.

The final price was 2900. I don't think this was a bad price.

Now my sore ass is going to bed to pass the hell out and hope when I wake up im not as sore or cold as I am right now. :D

PS: I went and looked at that yellow one today and they guy would not budge off of 3k. It was all stock with busted up from plastics and missing various bits and pieces throughout the bike. So I am glad I did not go for that one.

  15. What are the dimensions on the speaker box?

    -Mike

I have to find the tape measure and I cant atm I will look for it tomorrow.

Here are some links to get an idea. The pdf files says that it should be able to get spliced into any system really. Just have to tap into one of your speakers and run a power wire. I will say however that the stock 200w amp is conservative and none adjustable.

  16. also when I was looking for my first bike...the world of difference from 3k to 4k is crazy. Find a ton of better options at the 4k mark if you can be patient and save up a bit more

Trust me I know. Another forum I frequent someone offered me a 2005 r6 with Yoshi exhaust and a PC. For 4k even.

But I am not anywhere near rich and my Wife as a surprise for me got a 3k loan so i could buy a bike. That is why I am so hard set on 3k. If I saved another thousand the riding season would be over lol.

Thank you for all the links. I did like that zx6. I would need something 600 or larger. I would be bored with a 250 or 500 in about 1 week. The bike I have found the most fun riding in my few years so far has been a friends grxr 600.

I think I found a decent SV650. What do you guys think? Can you get full coverage on a salvaged bike?

I got him talked down but he lives 2 hours away. I might go drive there on Friday to look at the bike.

  17. That price seems high to me. As far as test riding, I actually understand where he is coming from as we would not allow anybody to test drive any of our bikes unless they gave us the cash first. The signing over the title is a little over the top but I don't think it's unreasonable to have the cash in hand. Once the test ride is over, if they no longer wanted the bike, we gave the cash back. Our bikes were always (and currently are) pristine so nobody ever wanted the money back but the options was there. As a previous owner of several salvage motorcycles with less than 15 miles on them (they make nice race bikes!) accidents can and do happen within miles of leaving the showroom so there is no way I'd trust ANYBODY to test ride my bike without covering myself.

    Mary

I completely understand this. That is why I offered to have cash in hand for the test ride but he said no that the title needed to be in my name first. I just have an odd feeling about the situation so I am no longer going o try and buy that bike. So time to start over with my search.

    welcome.

What part of blacklick do you live in?

By east broad and wagner road.

    Oh and welcome!!

Thank you guys for all the welcomes. If anyone comes across a good deal 3k or less I would appreciate the lead.

  18. Whats he asking? I wouldnt give him over KBB no matter the miles. Plenty of bikes in the 3k range...

I wont buy it unless I can ride it.

He was asking 2900. He came down to 2650 for the bike and helmet. The helmet surprisingly fits very well. KBB is 2215. The helmet is an arai if i am remembering correctly.

Here is the link to the Katana.

    First, welcome aboard.

About the bike, I'd never buy something I can't ride first. Also, I'd never pay over kbb. For $3k, we can find you some deals. Personally, I'd be looking at SV650's, F4i's, Bandit's, etc. $3k can get you a nice bike, nicer than a 12k Katana that the owner won't let you test ride. Good luck.

PS: If I get some free time I'll post some links to deals for you.

Thank you for the offer. The bikes you listed seem like a dream atm. Most of the ones I find are around the 4k mark. I need to find a bike around 2600 2700 so that once taxes and stuff is done I should be sitting at around 3k or the wife will kill me.

    Welcome !!!

    SV's are great bike's for around 3,000.

I would love to find a sv 3k or less I am rather fond of the sound of a vtwin from riding on my dads Harley for years. O and the 2nd thing I need a rear seat or I would have been all over the one that was for sale on here.

    Welcome to OR!

Search the bike shop for bikes that are being sold might be able to one there.

I did try the shops but they seem a bit steep in prices. Cycle Co has a nice z750s but I offered 3k cash and they said they needed more. I emailed them asking how much more but never got a response.

Independent has some nice bikes. They even have a Katana but wanted 3995 and when I called they wouldn't budge on the price at all.
