    2011 cycling

Went for another ride today. It was not to bad when in the cover of the trees. But on the roads with the sun beating down it was hotter than hell. I do not think I have ever drank so much water from a fountain in my life lol. After the ride I got in the car and it said it was 100 hot damn. Map My Ride I think im going to work on making a route that does the entire Olentangy trail with a loop around the State house then on the way back a little tour of OSU. I think it would be close to around 40 miles. Definitely going to wait for a cooler day for that lol.

Wow crazy Xray pictures. That Tour De Cause was really really good. I will be there next year for sure. Map My Ride Evan is one tuff fucker. I hate to admit it but even with his broken wrist he was still making me work my ass off on the hills towards the end. I need more hill practice. I have off tomorrow and thinking about doing another sorta long ride 40 ish miles. Anyone wanna go? Any suggestions? Edit: Hey Evan what was that trail that goes from Columbus to Newark? You guys said it was nice maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
  4. Im in! 20 bucks for a fun morning is worth it. You guys wanna meet up prior and start in a group? May not end that way but it would be fun to meet some of you.

Fixed the link. Ignore the time it took me to do it. I had to sit under an over pass once and then I stayed in the bike tunnel for a bit on Olentangy River Road when the lightning started.

    2011 cycling

Well I went for my ride. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/41128706 Mother nature decided to pay me a visit once I was Downtown. On the way back to the car I had close to 10 miles of ran, wind, and crazy weather. Felt like I was in the movie Twister lol. Now my bike is really dirty. Figures this would happen on my first real ride. Any tips on how to clean it up? The thing I am worried about is all the sandy water crap that kicked up. The rear brake now feels like it has tooth paste for lube. Chain looks a little dirty too. I really don't want to kill my chain and derailleurs from not cleaning it right. I was thinking of rinsing the bike off with some water from the garden hose. Not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Well finally got around to going to a Trek store. I rode a bunch of bikes and pulled the trigger on a 60cm Trek 1.5. It should be all set and ready to go by Friday. Anyone wanna go for a ride this weekend? I went with the compact double per the suggestions from the Trek guy. He said that once I get my road legs I would never use the little gear anyways. Would you guys agree?

For a Trek 1.2 what do you think the best price would be. After looking at several different bikes the 1.2 looks like the better deal for the cash. Yes and no. I have been having a blast on my Mojave but I never take it off road. I figured I would get rid of it and get a nice road bike so I can do Pelotonia and I would also like to do other rides around Ohio. The thing that has struck my interest in Pelotonia was the fact that my work is trying to get a team together. The more people on the team the more the company will give. I am not worried to much about the distance I would only be going to Athens not back. I can usually do 25ish miles without even thinking about it on the Mojave. I don't think it would be easy but I feel that I could do it.

Thanks for the Trek tip. The 1.2 does look nice do you think I might be able to squeeze one out for around $600ish? Someone told me to wait until around July cause that is when the 2012 models will come out and the 2011 will get discounted. Is that true? Not 100% sure to be honest that is the main reason I want to purchase from a shop and not online to make sure I get the right fit. I went to some website and took a bunch of measurements. Gender M Inseam 35.75 in Trunk 26.25 in Forearm 14 in Arm 26 in Thigh 25.5 in Lower Leg 24 in Sternal Notch 62 in Total Body Height 76.25 in This is what the website suggested for me. The Competitive Fit Seat tube range c-c 58.8 - 59.3 Seat tube range c-t 60.6 - 61.1 Top tube length 55.8 - 56.2 Stem Length 11.6 - 12.2 BB-Saddle Position 83.7 - 85.7 Saddle-Handlebar 55.2 - 55.8 Saddle Setback 6.3 - 6.7 The Eddy Fit Seat tube range c-c 60.0 - 60.5 Seat tube range c-t 61.8 - 62.3 Top tube length 55.8 - 56.2 Stem Length 10.5 - 11.1 BB-Saddle Position 82.9 - 84.9 Saddle-Handlebar 56.0 - 56.6 Saddle Setback 7.5 - 7.9 The French Fit Seat tube range c-c 61.7 - 62.2 Seat tube range c-t 63.5 - 64.0 Top tube length 57.0 - 57.4 Stem Length 10.7 - 11.3 BB-Saddle Position 81.2 - 83.2 Saddle-Handlebar 57.7 - 58.3 Saddle Setback 7.0 - 7.4 I just checked the Trek 1.2 sizing I think I might need to max it out with a large. I was thinking the Eddy fit would be a little bit easier on my back and the largest 1.2 frame just misses some of those spec by a hair.

Hey guys looking for a little help. I need a ride for Pelatonia. I only have about 500-600 to spend. I have been looking at the Cannondale Synapse Alloy or maybe the Trek 1 series. Anyone know where I can get a good deal on one around? I wouldn't mind having to drive a bit if its a good deal. I also have a bike I would like to trade in at the same time. Its a Raleigh Mojave 2.0. Any other suggestions on fairly cheap road bikes? If you give me a really good deal ill put a nice sticker on the back of my Jersey for your shop. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  15. NM forgot how soon Duke is comin out. It's all yours Archie.
  16. I have a Logitech Driving Force GT that I would like to get rid of since I no longer have my Ps3. Its in great shape. I purchased it a little bit after GT5 came out. If you play GT5 and do not have wheel then this is a great time to get one. Cheapest place I found online right before I posted this is $109. I would be happy with $80. Gamestop link for Driving Force GT
  17. I would vote against the cx7. My wife has one and it's the turbo 4 banger. It seemed like a good car but it has had a bunch of problems. Plus it requires premium gas It's been to the shop for engine ticking, wheel bearings, and the passenger side window stopped working. This vehicle has made my wife and I agree we will never buy another Mazda again.
  18. Read and be amazed! Be sure to check out the bottom where they feature many other high mileage Mopars. xcase is NV-242 Front axle Dana 30 Rear axle Dana 35C Right now there is small leak. Not big enough to notice on the dip stick but its making the engine a little dirty. I think it may be the valve cover gasket or the oil filter gasket. more annoying then worry some.

    Router info?

DD-wrt Tomato Gui Tomato USB They are not exe files they are .bin files usually and you go into the routers GUI and update to the custom firmware. DD-wrt is a more general GUI its more than likely the most user friendly. Tomato has a few more options but is not as easy to use or navigate. Tomato USB is pretty much the same but a little newer and supports more routers including those that have USB ports.
  20. Sorry most of that info is in the KBB link so I figured I wouldn't go over it twice. Ill post that info here as well to make things easier. It has 322500 miles. Power windows. Power locks. Cruise control. Ac and Heat both work great. Keyless entry. Overhead trip computer. The only real extras are window vent covers and an aftermarket head unit mounting bracket and wire harness. However I do not have the CD player install anymore. In fact if you have a head unit I will put it in free or if its really a big deal I can find one for you. I know your thinking holly cow that is a lot of miles but it has the 4.0 inline 6 cylinder. Those things are rocks. They have been known to last 600K+. It has been taken care of and runs well. I would trust it next winter. In fact that is all I really use it for is a winter car. But now I want a bike.
  21. TTT ok not to many people getting rid of bikes for cars. Mostly people want money so heres what I wanna do. If someone gives me $3k cash I'll sign the title over to you. Then I'll take the money and then buy a bike. This is on craigslist for 3500. Figured I would toss it on here for a little cheaper.

    Router info?

If you have a linksys router then go download any of the many custom firmwares that are available. DD-WRT or Tomato GUI are the best known ones. I personally use tomato myself. Those GUIs will allow you to up the voltage to the wifi antennas. Just be careful and look up your model and see what people say is a good setting. To high can cause problems.
  23. When I was 18 bank of America gave me a 10k card and I was given a 5k card from some other company. Those cards came after I was approved for a 28k auto loan. I can see where people get upside down really fast. I wish I had known what I know now back when I was 18 that's for sure. Hang in there Rhett with the right lawyer you will be fine.
  24. Here is the deal I recently purchased a 01 Grand Cherokee with the intention of building it up as a off road rig. I have now been bitten by the 2 wheel bug. I figured since I'm only allowed 1 toy it might as well be something I can go out and play with almost everyday. A Lifted Jeep with 35s isn't much fun driving around the road. A bike on the other hand would be. As it sits Kbb is 3600 fair to 4300 good. I think its in-between fair and good. I'm looking for a sport bike. I'm trying to get something 600 or 750 but 1000 size bike is also ok. I'm 6'4 around 200 lbs so a bigger frame bike is better. To give you a good idea what I have been looking for is a 600/750 katana. I know some people say they suck but I would only use the bike for fun and work commute. I don't need a track star. Don't be afraid to toss me some other offers I do like cruisers but would prefer a sport bike. Pictures are below let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested. I need this to be a flat out trade. If I spend more money on toys I think my wife would kill me. Title is free and clear and in my hand. http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/th_photo5.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/th_photo4.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/th_photo3.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/th_photo2.jpg http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/SRTmike08/th_photo1.jpg
  25. I have a buddy who is a contractor and he tells me that he buys a shit ton of Home Improvement / Lowes gift cards at the grocery store then winds up getting his gas for free almost ever fill up. Pretty good idea really he is gonna spend the money so why not get some gas included. Food for thought.
