  2. Here's the info from Yellowbullet: http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547420 The Thursday Night Lightz event will be changed to FRIDAY Nights for the 2013 Season. The name of the event will be changing to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTZ. TNL will be known as FNL Moving Forward !!! Event location will be KIL-KARE Raceway in Xenia, OH. Dates for the event will be every Friday from – MAY 3rd Til August 16th. EXCLUDING the JULY 5th Friday !!!! Times will be 6pm til 12 Midnight. Racing will be concluded by 11pm. Pricing for the event will not be changed for 2013. KIL-KARE Raceway has many big plans for 2013 and beyond. Since the new property owners took ownership of the facility roughly 1 year ago, improvements and revisions have been under way. For 2013 the Drag Strip is being fully refinished along with many other facility upgrades. We are very pleased to be working with Kilkare Raceway for the 2013 season. Our staff feels that the venue change will allow us to better cater to our racers and our guests. We feel that with a Friday event, this gives many racers and guests the opportunity to attend that may not have been able to make the Thursday event, whether due to driving distance, work schedules, or other conflicts. We are expecting to draw from all over the Tri-State Area; Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, and more ! The track’s new owners are very excited to be host to the Friday Night Lightz event. !!! 2013 RULES AND RACING PAYOUTS WILL BE POSTED THIS COMING WEEK !!! ** Note ** We will be contacting the local hotels to inquire about group rates for our out of town guests attending the Friday Night Lightz event **
  3. Thanks for the update. Now we know.
  4. It would have been opened already but there was a section of the new track that didn't settle properly so they tore it out and re-paved that section. I'm looking forward to the new track.
  5. Are they going to run the Friday bike nights?
  6. I don't know about everybody else but I'm getting that jones that only race gas and burnt rubber can fix.
  7. I was looking at the schedule for Kilkare and they have an event scheduled for Saturday, June 15. So it looks like they will be open soon. I have heard they will resume the Thursday test & tune schedule on June 20. That's not officially posted by the track, I was just told that is the day they're shooting for. I don't know if they will be resuming the Friday night bike nights. If I hear anything I will post it here. I know we have a member on here that works at Kilkare, maybe he can shed some light on all this for us so we can start planning bike night get-togethers...If they will be having any. http://www.kilkare.com/schedule_dragway.html
  8. I'm going to explain why I'm getting the ecu flashed now, instead of earlier in the build. I was going to get it done previously but couldn't decide on the electronics package I wanted without more research. Now I know which way I'm going with it so I need to get the computer flashed to accept the other mods. Long story short; I'm going to splice in a Power Commander 5 from a GSXR 1000 and Autotune set up to make my computer a closed loop system. There is no Powercommander V for the ZX12R. To do this I need to raise the rev limit to 12,700RPM. The other two reasons for raising the limit are land speed racing and drag racing. If I can keep it in a lower gear when I'm close to the finish line then I'll get a quicker E.T. since I'm not wasting milliseconds (or seconds) shifting gears. I can just run up into higher rpm and not tag the rev limiter. The same goes for LSR. If I can rev higher I can go faster. The reason for the GSXR PCV is the extended revs. I live 20 miles North of the Ohio Mile and 15 minutes from a dragstrip so I'm gonna play when I have the opportunities.Yes, I am experiencing delusions of grandeur. __________________
  9. Today's work on the 12 is relatively simple for me. I pulled the ECU to send off for a re-flash. I should have it back in about 1 week.:
  10. Thanks. I don't race it because I have waaaaaaay too many other things going on. I'd like to but time and money are always the two factors that dictate what you do and when you do it.
  11. After I filmed the previous sound clip I took it for a ride, you know, just to make sure everything was working right...It is and man does it feel good to ride that thing! I took it easy and just went up through the gears a couple times and took a leisurely ride on it.
  12. Double post.... [url=http://s180.photobucket.com/user/2fat2fly_photos/media/ZX12R/HPIM6323_zpsba21d195.jpg.html][/url
  13. I cut the roots that grew from the bike to the lift and then onto the garage floor. Yep, it's on it's own two wheels and saw daylight for the first time in a long time. Here's the proof: There's still some work to be done. I have some wiring to do plus dyno time for the fuel mapping, I have to source a good air filter for the turbo and install new tires. Even with that stuff remaining too be done I'm happy with how it's turned out so far.
  14. Welcome to the forum. I'd love to see some pictures of your bikes.
  15. Thanks Hellmutt. If I ever need a PR guy you'll have a job. Due to the extensive mods on this bike I'll need to learn to ride it again. It'll be totally different from the bike I remember so I will be a novice for awhile if I claimed any different I'd be lying.
  16. I need to get the dyno time in for the fuel mapping. After that the track will be my playground. I've got my trailer cleaned out and my pit bike ready to go.
  17. I'd really like to know what everyone else is using and how it's working for them.
  18. I've never used the Shinko tires but I'm looking at them now. I'm thinking about the Shinko Hookup for the strip. I'm on the fence between Dunlop Q2's and Michelins for the other two tires.
  19. I have a question for all the high speed guys; What tires are you running? I'm looking to replace both tires on my 12 and I want high speed rated tires that will hold up to a run at 200 mph at the Ohio Mile and attempts at rotating the Earth at the dragstrip. Any suggestions? I have 2 rear rims and I plan to have a drag tire on one rim and a street/LSR tire on the other rim. The front will stay the same. Any suggestions on brand and style? What kind of life are you getting out of what you have? Any I should steer clear of?
  20. The Cruising Missile is ready to ride but it's pouring down rain.
