  1. if you dont have a compressor (or a reasonably big one) they also make 110v impacts that if it will do the job can be had reasonably as well (plus no battery issues later)
  2. do you know the axle capacity? what two bikes? sporties? depends on the trailer. if it has cross members that are flat, then you can just deck it in and add a cross member front and back to protect the boards ends etc.. photos? tire size will tell me more about the capacity if you don't know what it is. make some rails for the tires and lots of TIE DOWNS TIE DOWNS TIE DOWNS!! tractor supply sells some 5K d rings that are substantial enough to be worthwhile for about $4 a pop did I mention photos? if its ONLY for bikes (IMO not a great plan but its yours) then just weld on a few 5x2 channels for tire troughs& some tie downs then move on down the road after some paint. cheap and easy down side of just rails, no where to put feet, my scratch built (by me) trailer has a board top and I will make troughs to lock into siderail pockets. I can use it for trash/cleanup, quads, mini buggy, mowers. it takes up the same space either way it might as well be useful!
  3. I have been doing this, its not too uncomfortable, its getting better every day thankfully, they told me it would hurt as it does, there isn't much they can do aside from tell me to keep it elevated as much as is reasonable while its still swollen and as you said move it around.. lol, maybe not you, I haven't road a bike in over a decade, and only have 6 rides on this bike, not really beaming with confidence or got my groove back yet lol.. other than taking the first week off to wait for the boot to fit over my foot, I dont disagree much. the problem is likely 60% mental 20% physical and 20% sissy... but there ya are, its a big heavy bike and I'm still a little wary of it.
  4. I cant seem to find OR group either

at least in scioto county, this! the wendy's in lucasville has been better than any in portsmouth. but for a real burger, rallys (closest hardees is huntington then circleville last I checked)
  6. yah its my brake foot, the only issue I really have is its kind of like pushing someone elses foot, like a unstable flop onto the floorboard, and its given me a bit of a wobble/wave in my ride somehow, I'm wondering if I was/am pushing my floorboards when I ride as weight shift. its just a different beast
  7. lol I already do that!! my wife says that to me before I leave the house, seemed fitting. I guess I know what I need to do, just blah, frustrated that I was making good progress getting back to riding and now I'm back to square one.
  8. I rode my bike about 6 times before last week, then I had something heavy fall(not the bike!!) on my right foot and couldnt fit my foot in a boot. I had it x-rayed day of, no breaks but def pulled/torn ligaments, been patiently waiting for it to get better, but at this point the swelling is mostly down and I can use my foot, just severly tender on the top (no touchy touchy). i went riding for about 45 mins tonight to get back in the saddle and give it a go, it seemed ok but the foot doesn't listen quite right (if that makes sense). my guess is I need to suck it up and wait some more or just retrain my brain to deal with what I have. any tips?
  9. they were pretty dull in color, no shine or luster at all, so maybe were sanded prior to install? no scratching of consequence.. I just didn't like the look. I am not sure I like how it is now either, but at least it looks more appropriate. I think I can run the supports up the back of the handlebar for a cleaner look from rider POV. windshield and tires were put on with less than 100 miles after, so no time for real damage to add up. he added them with the intent of riding it more, but life intervened and after putting less than 150 miles on it in the last 6 months, he offered it up to me.
  10. so I got my bike a week ago, and one thing bothered me, when he mounted the windshield he didn't want to use the fork clamps because they would scratch the down tube. ok no prob.. it looked like this I went online, and found some clamps for a different kind of windshield but looks like it will work and not too pricey here it is installed.. I think its better.
  11. when I got to minford I turned on north 335 and chased that a ways, so no idea about 32. if you mean the intersection with us 52 in portsmouth, its still fubar, but you can turn left go a block and come out on another light to 52. I did see signs in minford about the closing in portsmouth, that sign is really for trucks imo, you can get around it a few ways, not nearly as pleasant but they have a detour marked to turn left, then go over the drainway/trench bridge (bridge is not rated for truck weight I do not believe) and at the stop sign go right, follow out to 52. I do this all the time to get to walmart in my pickup lol.
  12. I just picked up a '97 Kawasaki 1500 classic and have been plunking around my neighborhood getting used to the clutch for about 25 miles and 2 days, didn't realize it had been so long.... so this morning after putzing around my neighborhood once to make sure the bike and I were warmed up (mostly me).. decided to run out sr139 a ways and ended up getting about 70 miles in. have to work this afternoon, so just wanted to get some miles in while I could, left the house at about 8:30am got back around 10:30am stopped twice to have some water and fiddle with mirrors so I could get a sight picture I liked on the road. I am glad I took the time to adjust my bars last night, it felt alot more comfy/natural today, not so much feeling of holding on. I had put it off because I didn't have a metric Allen wrench big enough to adjust it. finally bought a set of Lisle Allen head sockets and was off to the races. things I think need to do, turn up preload on the rear shocks (caught a frost/root heave at about 35 solidly thumped the back end), lubricate/graphite the speedo cable (heard it ever so slightly sometimes, maybe its normal, haven't dealt with it before). and look into a driver back rest down the road. I'm pretty sure theres more, but so far still grinning so its a good day.
  13. no but I'm a transplant, so all the "locals common knowledge" is lost on me. been here around 8 years, but spent the first five of that as an over the road truck driver. met my wife and this is where her family was from so we moved here to start a family and have family around for them. sooo, nope, not familiar, what is it?
  14. I will work on that for you this weekend! thanks again for the warm welcome
  15. thanks for the welcomes, its nice to be here!
  16. theres alot of talent and luck in taking those photos that way. has anyone tried using digital video camera? then you could use a single frame exported as an image? they won't be as high definition, but if you want a good web shot or 5x7 quality, might be ok enough depending on what your use is. either way thank you for sharing!
  17. just wanted to say hi, just got back into riding after a long pause. looking forward to listening in and learning. not really on much, but wanted to get registered so could enjoy the site better. not much to say, I'm 33 y/o guy, happily married, 2 kids, into re-learning to ride and just reading what I can. bike is a '97 Kaw Vulcan 1500 classic green and pearl.
