  1. Wow, that's pretty crazy. Mercedes has set the standards before though so I expect others to follow soon.
  2. I went polarized, I'll never go back. The glare is cut down so much. This is especially true for glare on the windshield from the dash. I have also noticed that windshields on some vehicles, Rendezvous and Montana to name a few, are bright metallic purple when looking at them through polarized glasses. Anyone know why that is?
  3. Oh crap...I do remember that now. My memory sucks.
  4. Welcome to CR. That's a very clean 2G you have. It's encouraging to see that not everyone gives up on DSMs after just a few years.
  5. Also keep in mind that there are other reputable DSM transmission vendors such as TRE and Jack's. I am not saying a single bad thing about Shep. I'm just showing that there is a variety.
  6. LOL. That was actually pretty funny.
  7. Going to your uncle's tomorrow I assume?
  8. You can use race gas if you like. You could lighten the stock flywheel if you like. That would be the cheapest route. A good clutch would be required. Drivability is not sacrificed very badly(if at all) with a clutch such as an ACT2600. As said though, it is a matter of opinion. It was directed to whomever was looking to build a $5K DSM on a budget. However, I would gladly provide this service to anyone on CR. ...and you are welcome
  9. Should be interesting to see how this turns out. Did Force really buy it or are you kidding?
  10. I don't spend any less than 50 for sunglasses (I'm a rebel). I always buy polarized, I always get a comfortable pair, and I always take care of them. I will ask though, where is a good place to buy RayBans in Columbus? I have been thinking lately about picking up a pair.
  11. Wow...this thread grew quickly. My favorite saying in the DSM world is "DSMs are as reliable as their owners." Simply put, if it breaks then fix it! If you want to do an 11 second 1990 DSM for $5K, then I recommend staying with the stock bottom end 6bolt, keep the 3 bolt, and try a 20G turbo with all supporting mods. I also highly suggest buying used GOOD parts as much as possible. If by some chance you have enough $ in that budget to do DSMLink (which I think you will, and should) then I will even socket your EPROM ECU for free just to help. I have done a few already anyway. So there ya go. For those who do not know, you will find that the DSM community is generally very friendly and willing to help each other out.
  12. QOTD I don't think people understand that when you double, triple, or even quadruple the stock power of a vehicle shit does start breaking. Dumbasses.
  13. Hello fellow DSMer. Welcome to CR. Now...PICS!!
  14. What do you guys think of this Rosetta Stone thing on TV? I have thought about picking it up to learn Spanish. Anyone have any experience with it?
  15. Even then, Dynamat didn't do much in that car. Ear plugs may have helped...
  16. I was at the Rolex too. Once I saw the white EvoX in the background of your pic, I realized that we were parked only 50 or so yards away from you. I remember seeing your car now. Welcome to CR.
  17. Beat me to it. I also like my 17mm for the ol' DSM. Honorable mentions include: Gear wrenches, BFH, PB Blaster, any of my air tools, and prybar.
  18. I'm having trouble selling my 2000 Jeep Cherokee too. The price of fuel right now is whats killing me. I suggest putting a $2000 car in the newspaper. Thats a good place to sell cheap cars. It's not free obviously, but I would think you could sell it pretty quickly that way.
  19. I like Vista too. I just bought an HP laptop at Best Buy a week ago. It's my first Vista system and no complaints yet. I just wish I had enough to afford a Mac...
  20. Pretty cool. Looks like a hell of an autocross car. Build one and keep a build thread on here.
  21. Slightly off topic but I thought the S2000 had a chain as well?
  22. "• Officials from Top Gear in England, who are producing the show, along with “everyone involved,” have assured Carolla that he will be able to speak his mind on any car “without fear of reprisal” from advertisers, which he fully plans to do." I am happy to read that for sure.
  23. Heard about this when I got to work this morning. Very sad.
