Of course I may try to go to that show. Honestly I hate to go to any shows until my Talon is ready for this year. I still have a LOT to get done to it. We'll see though.
Personally I'd like to see Gojira roll around again sometime soon.
G&Ls can be a little pricey but they are nice. I saw one at GC on Morse about a year ago. It was a 70s Jazz with a lot of mojo for like $1500.
The T40 is a tank! It made my back hurt to play after a while. I like em 9.5 and under. A NICE one can be had for like $200 now. Check out talkbass.com for one. They pop up every once in a while. I am on there everyday looking for new gear.
I liked them before all of this went down. It really changed my view of them. Kinda ruined it for me ya know?
I will say though that the guys from Shadows Fall and Bury Your Dead are cool as hell! I had time to help Shadows Fall take down their set. Cool dudes.
Have you ever considered a G&L? They are really nice sounding passive basses. You could also consider a Peavey T40. They have a nice vintage look and sound to them. Only problem is they are pig ass heavy (10-12lbs). I sold mine because of this. They are cheap($) though.
I'm with you on the unfinished neck. Easier to neck dive.
Almost for me. I was the "leader" of a stage crew (I was a damn roadie) for a well known local band around here for a few years. We had a gig with Shadows Fall, Trivium, Bury Your Dead, and a few other bands the night before Columbus OzzFest. I will not get into the details of the words we spoke, but I basically got into a heated argument with Matt Heafy. For those of you who do not know this half-assed POS "celebrity", he is the frontman for Trivium. I will tell you now that the kid is a cocky POS. It was broken up before the fists started flying.
I don't know a damn thing about guitar gear, but I can help you with any bass gear What exactly are you looking for in a bass? How many strings, weight limit, price range, tonal range, neck preference, and brand?
