I really want to check out Texas. The impression I get is that there are quite a few old-school conservatives, along with a great racing scene, in a climate that is pretty nice year round. I don't like the idea of earthquakes (Cali), hurricanes (Florida), and everywhere else seems either boring, cold, or full of bullshit people.

My response to this is that I love cars. I do like the Impala and I've had it for most of its life so I'll have it until its in the condition my S10 is in. The S10 will be finding its way to the scrap heap this year, and I do intend on it going out with a bang. I've never been too fond of newer Jeeps, but a truck or SUV would make sense for me. This will be a little ways off, but I love all the ideas.

It'll be our back-up car, we really like having 4 cars.

I 100% love your choices and love all those cars. Here's my issue, 3800 cars are FWD unless its an f-body, which I don't need another. Impalas are getting a little too old, and I'd want to fix it up and keep it nice, so daily duties wouldn't suit me. Trucks just aren't fun unless there is snow on the ground, or I'd be making big mods. Really wish they made a RWD Cobalt.

I just can't look at something THAT small. The Cobalt we just bought is almost too small. I wonder why someone would want that. It's too small to have much power, and it's based off of a Daewoo chassis that is pathetic to say the least.

Okay so the Subi would be an option. I really don't like the look of the newer ones, but something worth entertaining. Any other things to look at?

$10k range? They seem cool, but I've never looked into them or had the pleasure of driving one.

I'm not against a truck, but thats all I've ever had before the Camaro. No I haven't got back to work, but I'm not talking about buying something right now. I just want some other ideas to research that my close minded Chevy head hasn't thought of.

Their work on my block was good, the heads are a different story, but their customer service is pathetic. I wish I could say it went smoothly.

Lol, no, but having everything paid off really helps. My wife took on the Cobalt payment herself, so this would be my deal.

So as most of you know I have a Camaro that I will not part with and don't want to use as a daily. I have an 01 Impala that was my wife's car, but its pretty worn out. I really want to look into something else in the next year or so that can be a great daily, accept a few mods, and be a pleasure to drive. I would prefer RWD or AWD, it must be reliable, and all for around $10k. disclaimer: I will not even consider a Honda, Toyota, or anything from Germany.
