  1. It's a toss up. A 1200gsa or a super tenere.
  2. Ummmmmm. How far away is that camp ground?
  3. Hey Casper, being that I am new to ohio riders I was wondering if this is an open invite. Also I won't know if I can make it until things get much closer, so is there camping available?
  4. Lol. Be like riding the hard tail scoot I had before middle age hit. That thing is probably the resign I have back aches now.
  5. No, no bar connected to the swing arm. The bar going down and forward connects to a mounting point for factory racks that is behind the passenger peg. I used all the factory mounting points.
  6. I try to pack light as well. I like to use backpacking gear when I can. My tent packs down about as small as my sleeping bag.
  7. I saw that the other day, just not a hammock guy. I have an old coleman peak 1 backpacking tent. Packs nice and small and works great.
  8. Hey redkow97, it's a uly so it acutely has a sissy bar. They called it a triple tail. It folds forward on to the seat, strait up for a sissy bar or back as a rack. As for a sleeping bag I use down and it fits in the panniers Tiny. Sweet!
  9. Thanks guys. Now it's time for 2 of my favorite things. Riding and camping! Although I haven't test packed everything yet, I believe I can get everything in and under lock and key. I really hate to have stuff strapped on everywhere. It's kind of an OCD thing.
  10. Might plasticoat them to see if I like it.
  11. I'm not sure yet on painting. Gonna leave them bare for now kinda like the look. I'll think about it more when It warms up some. My garage heater can't keep up. Lol.
  12. Here's the pics that didn't post the first time.
  13. So I wanted a pair of 41L panniers and racks for the uly and didn't want to spend the money. After a little research I built my own with the help of a friend. Starting on the racks. I used 1/2 inch pipe and store bought bends. Scrape flat stock was used to make the mounts. Now on to the boxes. I don't have the setup to work with aluminum, but I have a friend who doses and offered to help. Now for mounting hardware. I found some ploy tie rod bushings and used these to make the pannier mounts. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/4eseny5e.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/qapytava.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/raryra9a.jpg And done. When it warms up I'm gonna sand them down again an coat the inside of the boxes with rustoliam clear. Other than that ready to camp. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/y6aquzyp.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/ve6ysaqa.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/6u9a6egu.jpg
  14. Put on the leathers and ran errands today. Little nippy but felt good. Only other bike I saw all day was a scooter at the Walmart.

  18. Over 20 years of experience. Moved drilling rigs and super heavy haul for most of that. Hit me with a pm.
  19. No ridicule untill the bleeding stops. Oh and try to keep the blood off the bike, thanks
  20. I prefer twinks but hairy guys will do in a pinch.
  21. After 8 years in 2 wheeled withdraw, I traded an old jeep for a 06 buell xb12x uly and I'm lovin it. Found the site just surfing the net. Will start checking in regularly and hopefully getting involved in the Ohio motorcycle community. I'm new to the sport bike and adventure end of things, always had cruisers and bar hoppers before the kids. I'm always looking for good people to ride with and looking to make some long rides in the future. Thanks.
