  1. Count me in for the slow group. I'll post over on the western thread so they know I'm coming.
  2. How about fleabay for an aero stitch light suit? Fall is right around the corner and I'd bet some will start showing up.
  3. And new tires! The only way this could have been better would have been to happen in the spring so you could ride all summer. Still plenty of rideable days in the year though. Awesome man, enjoy! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. For me it's about how you feel about doing maintenance or paying to have it done. I know of a couple of guys that have over 100K on their yzf600rs and take care of them really well. In those cases, high mileage just means that you'll be picking up repairs that come later in a bike's life like rings, gears, other slower wearing parts. A young bike might have those too if it's abused but you'll get more of the standard maintenance items like chain, sprocket, fluids, tires. Trick here is to get one where it's well maintained so that you don't immediately have to jump in and do all those things. There are bargains but usually because maintenance was "deferred" by the PO. Engineering factors into this as well but I don't have enough familiarity with the different makes to say which ones are good out to 60k etc.
  5. Nice find there! Check the tire date because those look like originals. You can ride an older tire but the difference between them and new ones is like night and day.
  6. Nah, anyone can do it with the how-to guides on the site. I should bring my sync tool to the gap meet next year and do a "sync party" as long as the AF screws are uncapped :-)
  7. Cool! Just broke the AF mixture screw seals and synced my carbs Friday - huge difference. If your AF screws are still sealed, you should get in there and check. Mine were way off from the factory.
  8. Hey Josh, check yzf600r.com for sale forum too. Welcome back to the thundercat club if you find one again! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Rode all winter with mine and it was worth every penny! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Glad to meet everyone, it was a pleasure riding with you. Thanks Helmutt for leading the group down and back.
  11. I'm still in too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Brr, I did a gear check this morning with my leathers and two layers of thermals, 37 is way too cold for that so I'll be falling back to my windproof pants and jacket tomorrow morning! Pinlock was great but I fogged on the outer edges where it doesn't cover the faceshield.
  13. Can I join you folks for a coffee and cinnamon roll at bobs? Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  14. Count me in for the slow group, I've posted in the thread for the S/SW meetup to let them know I'll be there.
  15. I'm in! See all of you at compacc the morning of.
  16. I picked one up after the first of the year and I think it's pretty good although being a new rider I haven't worn anything else to compare it against. I have a two-piece and the zippers are pretty bulletproof - no danger of the top and bottom separating. It is lined with a mesh fabric but I think it would be even more comfortable with underarmour or some other performance underwear. Graphics are a little loud compared to some of the more conservative suits out there but they work for me.
  17. Howdy fellow buckeyes and non-buckeyes alike! I just started riding last year and have been lurking the forums on tapatalk since last fall. I ride a factory blue 2007 Yamaha yzf600r, mostly stock except for a delkevic slip on and the PO removed the graphics and put on some vinyl Kanji lettering (bottom of fairing says Yamaha, middle says yzf600r in case anyone sees it and you're wondering). I'm hoping to join you all for the epic ride next month and what could be more convenient than living across town from competition acc? You guys get some lively discussions on the forum!
