Most recent progress of my VFR street fighter project.
  4. First off glad your ok - bikes are replacable unless its very sentimental - I recently left a stop light and had an older lady cut in between stopped traffic from her driveway, her driveway was about 300yds from light and had to use all of my skill to not run down the passenger side of her car. I have been endorsed since 1994? and average 10k-15k/year. If your starting that "list" here are a few good starters; (1)Always ride in daylight with highbeams on unless your a few car lengths behind someone(was told this at a safety class I took to reduce my bike insurance); (2)Always slow down at intersections when there is vehicles stopped or approaching the stop sign/signal; (3)Flash high/low a few times when cars are preparing to turn or go across your path; (4)Look way ahead in direction of travel, if your looking left/right at scenery you have shortened reaction time substantially. Lastly - FOCUS...FOCUS...FOCUS - always be on the defense hop my 2¢ helps someone
  5. I originally bought the second VFR because my brother said he wanted it as I had the cash to pick it up pretty cheap. He changed his mind and I decided to make it a project after teardown. Bike had been laid down but not real bad and I wanted to order some china fairings at first, then decided to make a street fighter out of it.
  6. I'm about 3½ hours north of Cincinnati, I am pretty much right on the lake near Camp Perry National Guard base or twenty minutes west of Cedar Point Amusement Park if you have been there.
  7. Just looking for other riders in my area to ride around with. If you live near Port Clinton and like to ride daily or even if you live within 20-30 miles of me I take longer rides on weekends, hit me up here or https://www.facebook.com/bill.wadsworth.106?ref=bookmark&__nodl&_rdr - I ride as much as possible, last year I think it was around 15K between four bikes. Most of my friends don't have motorcycles and friends I used to ride with either moved or are just to busy.
  8. In case someone else needs info, a friend of mine used this method and it was quite stable - https://youtu.be/3zLXrq8pIpw
  9. It's the stock header with a stainless slip on tube, the slip on is actually on my other VFR but will get put back on, I shortened the Two Brothers oval by about 60% and was testing it out. My other VFR had a Danmoto that I ended up putting on my nighthawk to try and quiet it down but its still LOUD. The nighthawk had a 4 into 2(stock) and when I put JE pistons and jetted it I also bought a MAC 4 into 1. The MAC had a baffle but I chopped the baffle to relieve some back pressure but it just wasn't enough and without the baffle it was deffening.
  10. This is a 98 VFR800 that had some damaged fairing and I disassembled it down to frame/engine. It has a Buell XB9R tail section, Danmoto 180° digital cockpit, SV650 clip-ons and some street fighter headlights. My plan is to use it for an everyday bike(rain or shine). Maybe over next winter I might polish frame and wheel lips as I did to my other VFR. I haven't got it finished up yet, still working on some wiring(tuck/hide) and cant decide what color to paint.
  11. Thanks for all the Welcome's, I have checked out Nelson Ledges and Mid-Ohio for track days. Do you have to join sprtbike tracktime to run at Mid-Ohio? I have been remodeling my house and probably won't make it to many track days this year. Track time at Mid-Ohio seems a little steep at $195, but it is a whole lot nicer than Nelson Ledges. I would like to find someone close to me so I can get a better understanding of do's and dont's and what is expected.

  16. Hello members - My name is Bill and I am new to the forum world. My main reason for joining is to find some people to ride with and I would also like to find someone to go to track days as most of the people I was riding with have either moved or quit riding. I have been riding dirt bikes and atv's since I was young and currently have five bikes and ride daily.
