  1. 3 hours ago, Isaac's Papa said:

Some will blame the right, because they're idiots. Others will blame the left, because they're also idiots. The government has no power or money that we don't give them. Fact of the matter is we're all idiots consumed by fantasy agendas and ideology. We allow the talking heads to create fear and alarmism. We then gobble that nonsense whole and want to know who's gonna fix our indigestion. Or, rather, who's to blame for my big fat tummy ache. News flash, princess... you are to blame. Stop swallowing bullshit and you'll start to feel better. Stop feeding the propaganda machine and it will find another pile of assholes to pester.

Turn off the idiot box and go outside. Look around. Meet new people. Don't discuss politics. Don't discuss religion. Breathe some fresh air. Look up and see that the sky is not falling. Shut the fuck up and live your own life and leave mine the fuck alone. I don't have time for your alarmist nonsense.

    Also, fuck Hillary.

I figured this out about a year ago and have been living like this. No TV. No news. Do whatever the fuck I want. It's amazing how much better life has been. Not giving a shit about anything helps a lot too. I still don't completely know what happened in South Carolina, and I don't care.

What would really make the world a better place is simple: Mind your own damn business.

  2. When I had my Grom they sent me a recall to replace a stupid emissions sticker on the swingarm. I called the dealer and asked if I could just stop by and get the sticker since I was going to rip it off anyway. "No, we have to have the bike here".

    I never took it in.

  3. "Bicyclists don't pay road tax" is a bullshit argument. MOST bicyclists also own a vehicle that they already paid road tax on. Yes, I said most, there are exceptions, but not very common.

Maybe we should have a "Walker's tax" for people that walk on the sidewalk. Put a tax receipt (License plate) on your ass. Damn I should be a politician.

  4. How's the gas mileage and range? I was considering the VFR12 when I bought my GSXS but I seem to remember people had issue with gas tank size and mileage. Didn't Honda increase tank size after a certain year?

  5. Anyone riding to view the eclipse Monday August 21st? I noticed the path of totality will pass right over the Deal's Gap area. I'm thinking the top of the Cherohala would be a cool place to view it from.

I do have to work until 5 on Sunday and there's no way I can get out of it, so I'd have to slab it down there all evening if I do end up going.

  6. There's some jewels in those slideshows....

Top 5 Reasons To Wear A Bandana
"Maybe you don't care much for fashion, but rather want that aggressive, tough image. Well, bandanas can accomplish that, too. You might want to remember that wearing a bandana, especially around your face, will make you look like an outlaw on the run. If you are okay with that, then by all means channel your inner Jesse James."

Top 6 Reasons Why Riders Don't Wave Back
"...Not to mention, many of us Harley owners love polishing on our chrome to bring out that brilliant shine and make our bikes look top notch, so it is very well possible our arms may be a bit too sore to lift off of the handlebars to gesture a wave."

  7. Pretty much since new, the front brakes of my GSXS squeal, but only in the last 10-20 feet of coming to a stop. It is super annoying. I switched to EBC sintered pads, that didn't help.

I thought about maybe lightly cross-hatching the rotors? Putting some goo on the backsides of the pads? Any ideas?

  8. The Air Force is now putting the GUU-5/P in the survival kits for combat, basically a break down version of the AR15.

Not much space available in the survival kits to begin with, I have no idea how we're going to squeeze those things in there now.

  9. I use these, but they're molded around earbuds. They work great at blocking unwanted noise, and even with the music going, I can hear what I need to around me (traffic, sirens, etc). http://earfuze.com/ It does get a little old having to plug the cord into the Sena every time I put the helmet on though.

I have been thinking about trying just the Sena speakers in my helmet and wearing earplugs, but I feel like the sound quality (of the music) would be awful. Anybody have any input on that?

  10. The other I was on the highway doing around 75 and felt a bang. The engine immediately quit, and I coasted to the side of the road. My chain broke. I'm lucky it didn't get under the tire. It hadn't been giving me any indication anything was wrong, I lube it every day I ride, and adjusted it when needed. I knew it had some miles on it, but when I got home and checked my records, I was surprised. It actually had 19,000 miles on it.

It shattered the clutch pushrod, broke the side sprocket cover, the chain whipped up and bent my license plate, bent the chain guard, and broke the underseat plastic. It broke the magneto cover where it shielded the wires, but luckily it didn't put any holes in the case. It did smash the magneto wires, I'm going to try to repair the wires, they're attached to the stator and a new one is $250. The wires are smashed right where they enter the rubber plug, so it's going to be tough.

I think I'll pay more attention next time and just replace the chain at 15,000 miles.

  11. I ditched Verizon when they were going to charge me more for my grandfathered unlimited data plan.... and didn't bother to notify me about the increase in cost.

Have been on ATT, and haven't had any issues. All the other guys at work complain about having slow/no signal in our building, I'm fine on ATT. Even cheaper than the same plan from Verizon.

I'm happy with them, don't have any issues. But I'm not one of those that's on the phone 24/7, and if I'm on a motorcycle trip and don't have any signal (like much of the smoky mtns), who cares, I'm on a bike life is good.

    YMMV
