Ohio's campgrounds to reopen on May 21st

I know I'm so excited! I was just talking about this with my riding buddy. We want to do an over night ride camping down in the Hocking hills area and hit a bunch of the southern roads.

@Muckles not sure what your fitting problems are but every manufacturer is different. Most companies i can't fit in any of their stuff but there are a few I do. Have you gone to a store like ironpony and just spent a whole day trying stuff on? Kind what I had to do. Once I found the size and fit, I then called Mike at @RidersDiscount for the best pricing.

Yeah, I've been down this route and just gave up. My problem is that I have a 44" waist with 28" inseam. For pants that fit at the top they usually end up being 6" too long. If they're armored, the knee pads and etc end up on my shins. The same goes for the arms in jackets. With a 51" chest the sleeves end up being at least 3-4" too long. I have a tailor I use for all my street clothes, but altering armored gear isn't in his wheelhouse. Plus I worry about the stitching being made with the proper thread to withstand an accident if it was altered.

  3. Does anyone have experience with getting armored custom textile pants and jackets. I am a hard fit and can't buy gear off the rack as it doesn't fit right. I'm to fat and short so I need to have everything tailored. At the very least I'm looking for some pants that are fully armored and made out of a high abrasion resistant material such as kevlar. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'd buy off the rack stuff and have it adjusted but it's next to impossible to get all the armor to be in the right spot without taking the whole thing apart. It's actually easier and less expensive to make it the right size the first time.

Pauly was this a recent briefing? I’ve talked to medical personnel and read where people are being sent home because their services aren’t needed. It was my understanding that most hospitals have acquired additional ventilators as well. What are we lacking?

It's the ICU space, beds and environment. Hard to scale and easily overwhelmed. Much of the other medical staff particularly ambulatory staff are not being utilized due to the lockdown. That is why you're seeing medical layoffs of non critical care staff. I worked in the hospital for 10 years and my wife still does.

Forget Jurassic park,  open Wayne National Forest and Perry APV to riders.   If you can't socially distance on dirt bikes and quads, then you're not doing it right.

How about open the campgrounds... This way us social distancing riders can do a weekend in SEO.

Yup. Let me know in advance if you want to get in on that. That place sells out pretty much every weekend. You'd start with creating an N2 account on the website which gives you access to an online portal. But the Try the Track thing is a manual registration process so I have to do that on the back-end.

Okay, let me see if I'm going to be able to do that weekend. I'll make sure to let you know.

Its probably one of the best this side of the Mississippi all things considering, new pavement (2018), layout, facilities.

I consider it my home track and I live in Cleveland. Have a lot of laps there. Heck thats where my sig pic is from.

Any current plans for which weekend people might be going to Pitt or Nelson? Would like to go when I at least kinda of know someone that might buddy up in the pits with me.

Gentlemen use your Shelter in place stimulus money and get a No-Mar. I hate to see everyone in pain.😁

I so want to do this, but I don't really have a place to store it. I have some tires that need to go on the bike now and I really don't want to pay more than $50 to get them put on. Tough spending money when your not working

We have rentals up to 60EU or 56US.

You'll most likely ride with us at our Nelsons Ledges or Pittsburgh International Race Complex weekends as those would be the closest.

Well i should fit in a euro 58, so looks like that is covered. I read through the membership handbook and checked out the schedule. I hear Pittsburgh is a nice track.

Not as much as you think. You got painters tape and a well maintained motorcycle? Do you have $75 to rent a suit, pair of boots, and gloves? Or just $50 for a suit? Then you can come do a track day with us. N2 runs a program for first time track riders where you can try out 2 sessions for free if you've never turned a wheel on track before. If you decide to ride the rest of the day you can pay a special low rate to ride the rest of the day.

Check out our rider's manual. https://www.n2td.org/manuals-and-forms/

    Our calendar: https://www.n2td.org/calendar/

    Painter's tape: check

    Well maintained bike: check

    Boots and gloves: check

Ability to squeeze my fat ass into a rental suit: questionable

Money to rent said suit: check

I'll check out the links I appreciate the information!

You got it, I will hold off for you and any one else that enjoys a sport bike spirited pace throughout the curvy asphalt Hocking Hills region. Or a Big Bike Adventure Bike power sliding wheely hill crested Forrest gravel mixed with two track.

I still can go back to the 70's

    Making OR Great Again

Some of you may have noticed we are dying here. While there are many things we could do I think rides are what we need to do. But we need to do them differently. We usually post up a ride, tell the noob or slow person we will wait at each corner and don't worry......that isn't going to work. For several reasons.

One, it's no damn fun for the slow person. They are basically riding on their own. So why not do that or find folks their own speed.

Two, even though we say and mean we don't care how slow they are or how long we have to wait at each corner it still creates stress, worry... anxiety....whatever you want to call it. And they end up pushing themselves. Maybe not dangerously but certainly above their happy zone. I know this to be a fact because it happens to me every time I ride with you. And I was told this exact same thing by a long time member here just recently.

So I will plan 4 or 5 rides this summer that will be slower rides and post them up. If you want to come and stay behind me cool. But you will not take off and go like hell and wait at corners and basically create the same situation. If you do, I will pair my Sena with you at the corner and shoot you.

If 5 or 6 of us lead a few rides like this we will easily have 20+ sane social rides this season. Maybe shorter rides around the Atwood Lake area for example. And we will still have plenty of time to go like hell on other rides.

Might help, might not. But the current course leads to a non existent OR by this time next year imnsho.

@Tonik I think you have a really valid point. I think part of the issue is that with riders you either have novice riders or very experienced riders in the motorcycle community. I feel a lot of those in the middle experience range are lost to other life forces like kids, family, jobs etc. and fall out of riding. This is similar to my experience. Many I've been riding with are quite new to the sport and I found myself being a teacher without his own teachers. In all reality, I only have a season and a half of actually ride experience in the last 15 years. Before that I had a good 6-7 Ohio seasons under my belt.

I found myself here looking for a more skilled set of riders with which to ride. The social media outlets weren't meeting my needs for exposure to more experienced riders. I found it here.

I don't think you'll be able to cultivate a larger Rider base and grow more skilled riders without making the point of entry more accessible. A "mach retard" (by the way I love this term) pace definitely isn't going to do it.

Count me in for what ever rides you got going and I'm more than willing to lead a few myself.
