OK, are the Smart Phones supposed to be cheaper on Amazon? If I want the Fascinate, it says it's $600. Would be like $200 after the mail in rebate, but it's a 2 year agreement...

Another question: So I wouldn't have a contract with my phone? Would it be just pay as you go? Thanks for all the help, by the way...

OK, so this is what I see for my best option: 1. Buy supported phone on Amazon. 2. Bring phone to Verizon store, upgrade my plan, and add phone to the plan. 3. Get cheap phone for mother-in-law And I'll still get my 20% discount on all of this. Sound about right?

I was thinking of getting whatever free phone they have for my mother-in-law. But whatever I buy on Amazon, it has to be a phone they support at Verizon, right?

So if I buy the phone on Amazon, how do I add it to the plan? Do I have to go into the store?

I tell you what, you know California's got it going on with the weather and scenery, but I wouldn't trade Ohio for it. I lived out there in the 90's, never again. I can actually afford a real house with some land, not to mention retire when I want, here in Ohio. Not to mention traffic, taxes, and stupid laws. :nod: Nazifornia: Great place to visit, wouldn't want to live there...

How does that work? You buy the phone there and how do you add it to your plan? First I need to upgrade my plan, I'm assuming...

Quick background: My wife and daughter are on Verizon, they both have the LG enV 3. They have a 700 shared minute plan, unlimited texting and pics, no internet. I get a 20% discount through my work, so the total cost is about $114 a month. Now me and my mother-in-law are are on Sprint, but our contract is about to expire next month. We've both got basic flip phones, 550 shared minutes, I have 250 texts, she has none. Costs me about $80 a month. Now, I'd like to get us both on Verizon. I think. I basically want to do whatever will cost me the least amount of money per month. I will still get my mother-in-law the most basic phone I can, with no features or texting. She won't use them. However, I'm gonna be pissed if I have to pay some data plan bullshit on that phone. Now with me, I'm just not sure what I want. Do I spring for a Smart Phone? I know I want something I can text with more easily and I actually do like my wife's LG for that. But if I'm going to spend the same amount on a data plan for a Droid or simple texting phone like the LG, why not just get the Droid? I haven't been in the Verizon store yet. I also want to know what's the best approach to take here. I've heard that it's better to buy the phone online and go from there. Any truth to that? Help me out, guys...

Just an update to this, I filled up today after using Kroger 93 and my MPG was 26.2. That's a 3.3 difference between what I got with Speedway 92 and Kroger 93...

All stock, 129K miles. 25 MPG with a 15.5 gallon tank, filling it up around with around 1.5 gallons left = 350 miles per tank. I know it's not their own, I'm just saying that I use it and Giant Eagle (which I know is Citgo) because of the 10-20 cents per gallon discount I routinely get.

I guess that's possible, but it also happened to me over the summer, back in maybe June or July. I just never have any luck with it and I'm sure it's because it's "second tier" stuff.

I doubt you'll get many legit responses on this board. Not too many hockey fans on here. I never thought Briere was that cheap of a guy. But I guess he was last night, eh?

On rare occasions I put it in my car, like last week when gas was about to shoot up 30 cents overnight, I stopped off and put their "top" stuff in my SVT Contour. I think it's 92 octane. It never fails, I get really shitty gas mileage. I've always been anal about the gas mileage in my cars. I fill them up and figure it out nearly every time. In the Contour, I typically get 25-26 MPG in the warmer months. I filled up yesterday after a tank of Speedway, and it was 22.9! WTF? Is the stuff just that bad? I stick to Kroger or Giant Eagle almost all the time, due to the discounts, but like I said, sometimes I do put other stuff in there. Anyway else have similar "luck" with Speedway?

There were some thefts of this nature in my office parking lot. But not since we have our own security driving around and watching shit... :nod:
