Someone also suggested using a pick, I don't have a set of those, so I'm going to pick one up and try that first.

Anyone have a good way of removing a broken / corroded prong from a relay in a fuse box? The headlights in my Fiesta stopped working, I went to pull the relay and sure enough, it was corroded and broke right off. Part of the prong is stuck in there now, and not enough for me to grab it with anything.

Buy Car Private Party In Michigan, Will BMV Care What Sale Price I Put Down?
Wease replied to Wease's topic in Passing Lane
Thanks! This is exactly what I was trying to find out! -
Might be buying a car in Michigan, private party. The seller doesn't care what price I put down, but we're talking about a 4 year old car that will probably be in the $40K range. I wasn't thinking of being stupid and putting down $1K, but will any flags get raised if I save some money on the taxes by putting down a cheaper price? What limit should I go with?

Awesome, CR lives on! 😎

"Shut Down End Of Month": So it wasn't last month?
-
I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised. I ditched Facebook years ago, and I don't think I'll join back up just for CR. I believe I was a member on the first day, joined up after coming over from COFBA. 20 years is a long, good run. Met a lot of good people on this site, I can honestly say I would not have been into cars as much as I was if it wasn't for CR and COFBA. I don't post much, but I still get on almost every day just to catch up. I'll totally miss that.

The real OG's know that it actually started with COFBA. If you know, you know...

Anyone know of or offer up winter barn storage for a car? I had a great spot out in Ostrander, but the guy just sold his house and moved. I've been keeping my '86 GT there over winter for the last few years. I don't need a spot to work on it, I just put a car cover on it, a couple of dryer sheets to keep the mice out, and leave it until April. Anyone here offer up a spot like that, or know of someone who does?

I expected pics of a brand new Blazer, but this was still a good story.
-
I also can't stand when someone takes pics and doesn't clean the car up at all. Especially the interior. Nothing tells me "I really care about selling my car" more than a dirty interior in the ad. Huge turn off for me right there if I'm looking at your car.

Straight from Harvard and I agree with it: Don't smoke. Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables. Exercise regularly. Maintain a healthy weight. If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation. Get adequate sleep. Take steps to avoid infection, such as washing your hands frequently and cooking meats thoroughly. Just taking vitamins isn't going to do shit unless you're following through on the other points here. 13+ years ago I was 105 pounds heavier than I am now. A few on this site knew me back then. I hit a wall, got serious about my health, and follow most of the points above. I should eat more fruits and veggies, probably. Anyway, I rarely get sick now, and I'm in the best shape of my life at almost 50 years old. I have yearly blood draws / health screens through my company and my Pharmacist Daughter looks at the numbers and says "I rarely see numbers this good from anybody, much less someone of your age." So follow the above and take it seriously, your health / immune system will improve dramatically and you'll feel better for it. I know, right? This totally gets swept under the run and it pisses me off.

This right here. Very little has been said about actually taking care of yourself. This has been a great opportunity to push eating better / working out / generally having a better lifestyle, but nope, let's turn it into "Better get that magic pill to make COVID go away!"

I find it funny that apparently I have a "team".

Who is happy with anything Biden has done so far? He's been a total goat fuck the last 7-8 months.

This is the reason I jumped on selling my G8 when I did. I figured I'd get $15K out of it, at best, in a normal market. Given its condition and miles. I ended up getting full asking price of $18K out of it. Hell, maybe I could have gotten more if I waited, but I wasn't going to screw around and the market change on me. That being said, I'd like to replace with it with another sporty sedan, but I'm waiting until prices come down. I'm not one to wait around on a car either, so it really sucks seeing cars I like, but I'm not paying $5K+ more for them right now. I'm hoping by the Spring prices come back down, but I'm not holding my breath...
-
This for sure. I had my G8 sold in no time for full value using this. Had to turn my Facebook back on to use it, but it was great.

On my way into work today, there was a group of people with large signs of "Impeach Biden" by the 270 on ramp. No surprise there, given the current shit show...

I had one of those when I was in the Air Force. Fun car. Some stupid girl hit it in a parking lot near my dorm while reaching into her back seat, not paying attention to where she was going. I was crushed. Sold it soon after.

Yeah QSL was nuts, you couldn't get near the burnouts, people were totally packed in there. There were more people than cool cars, which was disappointing. I parked my '86 in the Target lot and walked over with my son. And then some dumbass almost hit us showing off as we crossed the street...
-
Last couple years, CPD has shown up to QSL and allowed burnouts, so I'm hoping that's the same this year. I might head up after dinner if the rain holds off.

All of that right there confirms why I'd never buy a car online without seeing it in person, test driving, etc.

2 owner Pontiac G8 GT, I've owned it since 2013. 88K miles, it has a cold air intake and a catback exhaust (can't remember which one right now, it was on the car when I bought it). It's in really great shape, no rips in the leather seats, a couple of rock chips here and there, but really nice for 88K miles. I don't drive it in the winter either, nor have I ever raced it. Tires are fairly new, it also has new shocks, struts, and control arms just a few weeks ago. Everything works on it, the only major work I had done was replace the lifters about 2 years ago, which is something that can plague the V8 in these cars. Lucore did the work for me. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer G8 GT locally, asking $18K or best offer: http://wease.net/G8/G81.JPG http://wease.net/G8/G82.JPG http://wease.net/G8/G83.JPG http://wease.net/G8/G84.JPG http://wease.net/G8/G85.JPG

This right here. I stopped off at Wendy's after my kid's soccer game on Saturday and the drive through was long and slow. So fuck it, I went inside. No one in line there, but I still waited around forever. I worked at a Wendy's in high school and shit would have hit the fan if we had customers waiting that long for food. Then it dawned on me, what you said above. They just don't have the workers right now, or ones that give enough of a shit. So sad. Working fast food and shit jobs helped me become the person I am today. We need more people to get that and want to work harder to better themselves.
