  1. I'll be out of town this coming weekend, but possibly the weekend after that.
  2. UPDATE: Getting some miles on it, finally. This has been a pretty long stretch for updates, but I don't really have a whole bunch to report. The past two weeks I have basically been working out small bugs every typical project like this experiences. Rad fan wasn't cooperating for a while, had to trace down a battery draw that would mysteriously kill my battery overnight, finished my center shifter console, but most importantly I finally got together a temporary exhaust until I can piece together a nice 2.5" and got the car plated and insured. My original intention was to piece together a downpipe using parts of the original header, but turns out, it was a bit over my head. It's fairly easy to accomplish, but making a 2-1 merge collector is what I couldn't handle. I ended up ordering a downpipe from the great folks at Eurowise who, even though they were out of stock, were able to make me one on the double and get it to my door step in literal days. For the sake of getting the car ready for a local show called Water By the Bridge in Louisville, KY, I decided I wouldn't be able to get 2.5" cat-back exhaust by then, so I mated up the original diesel exhaust to the VR. I'm sure it's choking the shit out of the motor, but it's driveable and still lolz. The best part is when the soot that has built up in the muffler of the diesel exhaust blows out when I rev the motor lol. Also, if you remember earlier I had an idea for a center console that would fit over the O2A shift tower and cables... well it's 90% finished and in the car and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, to say the least. I just have to decide the best way to secure it to the tunnel, but as it is right now, it literally stays put. I'm thinking of two L-brackets secured on the inside of the console. Aside from that, I just need to keep driving it and do some really minor cosmetic things. I just put my front bumper caps on, just gotta put my rear small bumper and get the new caps on that as well. Just waiting patiently for the inner barrels of my 14" wheels as I'm really not too fond of these 15s. Really just a temporary placeholder for the time being. IMG_8798 by Andrew M. 5. I know plenty of places that can handle this, but you'll be shipping the wheels back and forth to have it done.
  6. Used DAS a couple years back to ship a car from Cali to Ohio. Enclosed trailer and insured. They did their job, not sure what else you need to hear.
  7. The fact it's considered "cosmetic" surgery blows my mind. I would absolutely LOVE to get Lasik, but I'm terrified of losing my vision. Almost happened to me once, never want to ever have anything like that to me, again.
  8. Bingo. No axle is made to deal with being low lol.

  10. Explain. First I've heard of something like this.

    New R8

Honestly, I don't think any R8 is worth buying.
  12. To give you an idea of prices on the 6D, I've been watching a pretty active Canon classified on FB and I've been seeing 6Ds with 20k clicks with grip, couple cards and batteries go between $1100 - $1200. The prices just dropped a bit within the last month or two due to a recent sale. I bought mine off eBay for $1350, 1k clicks, gripped with two batteries and two SD cards a couple months ago.
  13. 5DmkIII is a helluva camera. Remind me, what are you shooting with currently? Having used both crop and FF, I much prefer the look of my FF camera. But, there are merits to both. People who typically shoot telephoto action shots seem to prefer the 7DmkII and above because it's got such a quick AF and the crop ratio to help with zooming. Of course on a FF you can make up for the crop ratio with a correct lens, but I find the least amount of scaling you have to do to an image file, the better clarity and sharpness you'll get from a sensor/body. If you're seriously considering a 5D3, I suggest looking at a 6D. It nearly rivals the 5D3 in every way, other than very few minute functions most people might not use and at literally half the cost. 6D blows the 5D2 out of the water in tests, and 5D2 is still more expensive, somehow. I recently sold my 5Dc and upgraded to the 6D and the difference for me was astronomical. Great camera. I was looking at the 5D2 for a long time because 5D3 was way out of my budget, only to find that the 6D was a new camera the rivals the 5D3, at a much cheaper price. The low-light performance of the 6D is outrageous- this is where the camera really shines! But that's my .02. I don't see reason to drop coin on a 5D3 when there are cheaper options that perform just as well for half the cost. Edit* Here's some comparison and testing for the two cameras: http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-III-vs-Canon-EOS-6D OH, and the WiFi/GPS function is badass... you can pair your phone and camera together and you can view photos taken, directly on your phone.

    New R8

Your opinion is about as good as your trader rating.
  15. Good suggestion, I'll call them tomorrow!
  16. He was the first person I approached and he said he's not willing to risk it, which I totally understand.
  17. That's what I'm looking to accomplish, although I would have to know how to weld.
  18. Fantastic, I'm looking to have my MK1 axles done, too... but I'm in a rush and can't wait 3wks -_-
