Thorne, quit being a girl and drive your car.. it's not loud and you have nothing to worry about. I took my VW and beat the shit out of it while I was there, and made it back without a single hiccup. If anything, taking a VW is much more of a risk than a Subie, lol. Even then, I made 43mpg on the way back after giving her a good flogging.. it's good for the car every once and a while!

So you don't know exactly what the car is doing, and you don't know if it's backfiring through the throttle body or not.. I see this going somewhere fast. If it hasn't had a tune-up anytime in this era, check the plugs, wires, maybe the AFM or TB if they're dirty, air filter.. etc. You can at least check that yourself and report back... hell, maybe even drive it and give us a better description of the problem.

Christian, I know the difference between the two, but no point in arguing the difference in terms to Thorne . I wanted to make it clear, however, that it is a reciculated Greddy unit.
