  1. Here is the first thing I see when I pulled the motor. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/ls2sam/IMG00052-20100906-1406.jpg Some carnage http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/ls2sam/IMG00054-20100906-1935.jpg Part of camshaft missing http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/ls2sam/IMG00055-20100906-1935.jpg There it is http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t214/ls2sam/IMG00056-20100906-1935.jpg
  2. I'm always on wastegate. I have not turned the boost up in awhile. The highest i have had it this year was 17#. It needs a better ignition setup with a better intake manifold and some injectors. I dont mind losing when I know all my car will do is get faster. The cleveland guys are some nice guys and I had a good time with linn in the back seat to help the car hook.
  3. Again thanks for having us. I pulled the car off the trailer and it feels like something might have broke in the motor. It is running really bad and vibrating the car bad. Gonna look into it this week sometime. I had a good time and you guys have some fast cars.
  4. Welp, the 350 motor in my boat let go the other day. I pulled it out today and tore it apart. Camshaft came out in 2 piece, and a few rods are fuzzed to the crank. So now its time for a new motor. I have a few questions first. I am goin to do a 6L ls style motor in my boat. I wanna know do normal boat motors have an external water pump to pump the water to the water pump on the motor? Like the lower unit pump???? Secondly, does the water that flows through the exhaust go actually in the exhaust or chambers surrounding the exhaust. Basically I gotta take some stock 6L manifold, turn the upside down and switch sides. I wanna run water through them somehow and keep the water out of the motor. Also what kind of cam selection do I need to look for? Any help is appreciated.
  5. Cause you titled the thread "get you some blackmess" So we are here to "get us some"
  6. I will be at buckeye I think this sunday testing out the motor on the boat. Had a issue with it earlier this week and hopefully got it fixed. Dunno yet.
  7. Well after looking around some more, Matt I think you are correct with what I should do. I wanna get the boat to the 70mph mark. After making this post I did some more looking around and it would prolly be alil less expensive if I were to just rebuild the 350 and make it rev higher those being able to put more prop to it and hopefully being able to reach my goal. I figure a lower end refresh and a top end build with better heads, cam, intake and carb and valvetrain. Also I wont have to worry about changing stuff up on the motor mounts and lower unit. Then maybe the following yr do a lower unit swap and then strap a blower to the tree fifty...
  8. Sure am, actually i have done alot of looking and it seems that the only thing that hurts the alpha drive is the low end torque of flooring it out of the hole and any speed over 75 mph. But a low hp motor, 330hp and under should be ok for the alpha drive. I know its not recommended but I think it will be ok if I'm careful. Its kinda like making over 500rwhp on a stock 5.0L block. Cant be stupid with it.
  9. Uh, Im not sure that will work. I have all the stuff to stay with a gm motor to bolt to the lower unit.
  10. a stock 454 motor. If anyone knows anyone selling one, let me know. I wanna swap out motors and do a n/a build with it. Let me know. High hours are ok with me.
  11. I got worked that first race without brake boosting and I left a tad early on the 2nd. My bad, its hard to keep the car stable while brake boosting. Good runs in all though.
  12. I think I am heading to buckeye for alil bit.
  13. You guys got my number, I got the rest of the week off so let me know.
  14. With a 50 ft trailer alone, that thing has to be a bitch to drive. That thing has to be close to 100' long total.
  15. Thanks for the phone call idiots....

  18. My hats are off to you guys. This is what cr use to be when it first started, small and it makes it feel like a better car community.
  19. It makes a huge difference on the take offs. I took off 2 tenths off my 60' and it helps when you are testing the car at marion which isnt any better then the streets.
  20. I'm down for whenever, just let me know. Scott, have you looked into a progressive box for the nitrous?
