Agreed on every point. You know I'm not an LSx guy so I honestly don't know the difference between the motors. If I did have the money and knowledge I'd probably do an LS4 but me being into these chewbacca sounding 3800's it's what I'm comfortable with.
-
It's only $4900 for the swap kit for an LS motor... http://www.v8archie.us/lsx-kit--2.html
-
That was just the one example. the LS4 in the FWD Monte/GXP uses the same 4T65HD trans as any other wbody uses. Yeah you can use a F40 and or an F23 but I guess there are adapter plates that you'll need in order to mate up the trans and the motor. The guy is still making V8 adapters though. It's blocked here at work but here's the link - http://www.v8archie.us/
-
There's a TON of shit that needs to have happen to drop an LS block into a Fiero. And it costs at least 5k+ to do the swap alone. Then if you want the 4t65 trans (that's glass already) in an LS motor be prepared to drop some $ for trans upgrades. It's not as easy as one would think. But yeah, anything can be done with enough fabrication/money.
-
You'll never see them. They're all in garages/trailered to car shows.
-
He wasn't there this year. Must have been some other car I didn't see.
-
Yeah that was pretty cool. I talked to the guy with the yellow race car on the right. Very cool dude and one hell of a car. Top speed is a little over 200 I think. The one main guy who put on the show.. Fred, had like 5-6 cars just in that room lol.

Here's my album from the show. There are a few V8's in there. http://flic.kr/s/aHsmkLTM77

Weight Year Model Engine Trans Fuel A/C Bat Other Notes a/c - yes/no, battery/ - front/back etc.

Yep. It won't take much to go sideways from a dead stop. I still haven't done any donuts or anything in it. Afraid to break something. I generally only get on it when I'm going straight. It's still sketchy when I'm going 50-60 and hit it on the freeway.

Yeah I could gut panels and stuff but I really don't feel like doing that. Here's everything that was weight that day stolen from the Fiero forum. Haven't updated this in a while. Might as well throw a few pictures in here. Put a 2" intercooler on it and a belt wrap I picked up. Went 12.1 @ 111 with a 1.74 60' at the track rental earlier this year at Kilkare: Had Leigh Palko weld up a new exhaust for me with some tips I picked up last year. Painted it using Rustoleum High Temp BBQ grill paint. Thinned with Acetone and used some Valspar enamel hardener. Use my $10 HF gun to spray it. Cost was about $60-$70 with the acetone and hardener/paint. It does have a slight brown tinge to it in the sun. When the sun isn't on it it's a decent Satin Black. Didn't put any clear on it. Probably won't. Went the 35th Fiero Car show in Peoria, IL a few weeks ago. 225+ registered Fiero's. Pretty neat. Empty tank, obviously I'm not in it.

My son had Scottys GTP shipped from Texas to here and it was roughly $450-500ish I think. Somewhere around there.
-
My mom has a portable wheel chair that she doesn't need. It was my Dads. She was looking for about $60 for it. Let me know if you're interested. It's just sitting in her garage in Westerville. I could even pick it up and deliver it if you want since you're all busted up.

The Tar pits were pretty cool when the wife and I went back in 2010. Saw the Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater. That was about it when we were there. Could only cram so much in one day there as we drove home the next day. And yes, the traffic does suck.

2018 Kilkare, was an excellent track day, post results.

12.1 @ 111 in the turd. Then ended up tossing my differential on the left turn to get my time slip. Thanks again Anthony and Tina for letting me borrow the truck and trailer to bring his POS home. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154659085@N08/shares/A8Y8G9 -
I have to have the wife take the tires in her car since there's zero room for anything...
-
Good luck. I'm sure everyone and their mom will be on the dyno. I thought about it. I still might if there are spots open but I doubt it. We should be there a little after 6 when the wife drops the kid off.
-
Thought about it. Don't have the kid tonight so we might as well do something. Where's it at? Nevermind. Googled it. Right down the street from Lucore. 8200 Business Way Ste B Plain City OH 43064
-
I just looked at the registration again and it says there's 43 spots still left? What the fuck? On that note, I'd gladly pay another $25/30 to cover the extra cost(s). Hell I'd buy another slot to take my 14 second Regal down the track. Maybe a poll to see if anyone wants to pay the extra $25? Just trying to help I guess. I spent all Winter/Spring working on my POS to NOT run a test and tune and to run here.

I'm trying but everyone seems to be more interested in putting their 500 HP car in a parking lot to try to get a trophy.

He's checking on the whole cat back with tips, mufflers, etc. Should know tomorrow or the next.

....

Just the cat back? I may have a guy in Cincy but he's wondering how much you want for your exhaust with trade.
