Last night my wife called me around 11 pm telling me the car was acting funny like it was shuddering and didn't want to go anywhere. Then it just died.
She was on the way home from dropping her mom off in Akron for the weekend and this happened in the middle of Morrow county on 71. She pulled over with BOTH kids in the car (scared shitless obviously).
So then there's me. I came home from the bar around 8:30ish and was chilling at home waiting for her to come home. So I thought it was a belt that blew off since she said she lost the power steering. Grab a few tools and some things I thought it might be and head up 71 going about 90-100. Didn't see any cops which was nice.
I get up there about 30-40 minutes later and the car just cranks, doesn't start. I check this and that what I could at midnight with a shitty flashlight. Finally I give up, pack up the kids/wife and go home and I'll come back in the morning.
Went back up to the car this morning and brought my brother up with me incase it started and he could drive it home. We check a few things. We can't hear the fuel pump. Take off the access panel and start tapping/hitting it with one of the wrenches I had. BAM fuel pump kicks on and the car started. Stayed on and drove the damn car home.
Cars suck. Sucks even more when your wife and kids are stuck on the side of the road at midnight in the middle of no where.
Got about 4-5 hours of sleep and now I'm at work and get to work till about 2-3 AM.
Awesome!
