  1. I stand by in saying that I didn't know the frame was bad and definitely didn't know it was rusted out like that. Obviously I poured a ton of money into it the last year alone, between rack and pinion replacement ($800), tires ($450), brake/power steering lines ($500)....all within the last 8 months, that's crazy to think I would repair any of that crap had I known it was like that. It was all done at Kights Auto in Ashville, Ohio. They always were prompt and friendly, and had good reviews...I thought they were good and honest people. We drove the truck to North Carolina every year. . . that's kind of what it was for. . and it never left us stranded and never fell apart, we just wanted to get into something with lower miles and that's what we did. I feel awful, but at the same time. . . Rocky made it seem like he was going to flip it and even replaced the wheel bearing before having a change of heart. I did what he asked and then the next morning the money was spent and that evening he asked if he could have his money back. I am not a bad person. . . a lot of back and forth here with this and it's unfortunate that I am being painted out to be some asshole that's trying to pull the wool over another member's eyes. . . I've absolutely never done that here or anywhere else. I've hired many people here (Jason when he was out of work to paint our house, Dozzier's Garage when he was still in town, Exoteric to detail cars, Ryan to change motorcycle tires, etc etc etc) and have had ZERO issues with anyone. I'm not one to go back and forth and to keep repeating myself, so this is the last post I will make on this topic. I'm sorry you feel that I cheated you Rocky. . . I just hope you honestly don't feel that I meant things to go the way they went.
  2. Ok, I absolutely didn't know about the frame. I provided recent records where I had it repaired (over $500 worth) and obviously would have not sold it had I known. The CEL I was told was an o2 sensor and nothing to worry about. I figured a car that needed a couple things with over 200K was a good deal for $1,000. Rocky even hooked up his code reader and said he wasn't worried about it, and cleared the codes prior to purchasing. I wasn't trying to hide anything. I certainly wouldn't come here and try to give someone (what I thought) was a good deal on something, and ruin a 17 year reputation with this community for $1,000. I have hired and worked with so many great people from this site, and feel privileged to be a part of it. Anyone who has dealt with me here knows I'm a decent person. . . I'm sorry this went south. . . and sorry I didn't want to refund you over a day later after I had used the funds and we even discussed you fixing it and selling it and me getting that title done ASAP (which I did).
  3. I didn’t drive it because it needed a hub, which you replaced. I was not in desperate need, and never said that. I don’t understand why we are doing this here. I did do what you wanted the day you bought it. Apparently making me look bad and calling me less of a man gives you some gratification and thats fine. I wish you the best in your current and future endeavors.
  4. Ok. I went straight away that day to get you the title notarized and sent out as you requested and you proceeded with repairing the hub and said you were going to sell it. Yes, I spent the money because you had clearly made it sound like you were immediately flipping it but then had a change of heart. I am not going to go back and forth about it man. I am sorry it wasn’t a perfect car for $1,000, and I feel like a fool for trusting the local shop here, but I don’t think I should have to bend over backwards because you have buyers remorse after fixing it.
  5. I don't think this is a very fair review. Firstly, I had ZERO idea the frame was bad. The recent records I provided where I just spent over $500 on repairing lines, and just put tires on the thing should prove that. Rocky came out and checked it out and then put it on his flatbed (where he could have checked it out more) and left. He then later text me and said the frame was in bad shape but was going to continue to repair the wheel bearing and sell it. I said, that sucks..do you think you can break even? He said he hopes so. . . and requested I get title to him ASAP. So I drove to Jackson (where my father in law was) and had him notarize the title first thing and overnight it to Rocky and provided him with that tracking/proof. I felt bad and was disturbed the shop I had spent thousands at had never mentioned these problems to me, but it seemed like Rocky was at least going to break even, and so the following morning...my wife and I put the money down on another SUV for our family. We don't have the luxury of having a lot of excess money so $1,000 is a lot of money for us. It wasn't til last night that Rocky asked for his money back because he felt bad about selling it. I don't think that's fair, and I had already got the title sent overnight to him and he said he was going to get rid of it. While I didn't think it was a great deal for either of us. . . he made it seem he was going to flip it and everything was fine. So now I should try and come back up with his money, and he gets to run my name into the ground? I have been a member of this site for YEARS...I have never had any ill intent towards anyone, and have dealt with many of you over the years with nothing but praise. I guess I will accept being banned if that's the way it goes. . . . but I at least wanted to give my side of the story and at least go out knowing I did that much.
  6. Looking to get rid of our spare vehicle. Had it since fall of 2015. . . replaced a lot on it. . . still nice for what it is. . . needs a couple things. Drove it to North Carolina and back last summer without issue! IF INTERESTED, PLEASE TEXT/CALL ME AT 740-215-3442...I don't get on here much these days CR Price: $1300 Details: 2004 GMC Envoy SLT XUV (top slides forward to haul tall things I guess) Power everything Leather heated seats 4.2L I6 4x4 Tow package w/ 4 pin adapater Miles: 208K (90% highway) Non smoking household, so no weird odors or any of that Issues: Needs front left cv axle replaced (clicking a bit, tear in boot so will need replaced) Needs front left wheel bearing & hub (just started last time I drove it, front left wheel makes bad bearing sound when driven) Needs automated ABS bleed performed...did brake work, did not have time to take in for automated bleed so brake pedal is only about 80%. Passenger side is scraped a bit on lower side by previous owner backing it into garage...doesn't look that bad (see pics). Midgate window (behind rear seats) is stuck down, which does not affect the ability to fold down seats at all, so it never bothered me to replace the motor in it. Driver seatbelt doesn't retract all the way...still works fine and secures/locks on fast brake New since I've had it: AC compressor with recharge (blows cold) All new tires last summer New pioneer double din stereo w/ bluetooth & hands free control module (steering wheel controls work) Speakers all replaced w/ Kicker components Right front cv & tie rods New front rotors New fuel lines (Known to rust out on these) New power steering lines (known to rust out on these) New steering rack & pinion Think that's about it. . . I'm probably forgetting something. Would make someone a good work vehicle or beater. I just need it out of my driveway. I have the title in hand, HOWEVER..it's in my father-in-laws name as I bought it from him and we never got around to transferring the title to me. He lives in Chillicothe and will meet at bank to do notarization for anyone wanting to buy. Haven't posted anywhere else yet, thought I would start here. I obviously have a lot more in it than I am asking, but feel with the issues it does have that it's fair. Thanks all! PICS
  7. Pm'd. . . my family and I could use it
  8. Only ever met Jason but he was a great dude and from what I have heard she was an amazing woman. Prayers and good vibes to you and your family brother!
  9. If anyone would like to shoot me Duff’s number I would love to call him ASAP!
  10. Hey old friends! Looking to replace our a/c unit as it failed/started leaking last year and is still on old expensive coolant so re-filling it over and over is becoming expensive so looking for at least a 14 seer replacement. It's a 2,000 sq ft home so probably looking for a 3 ton unit. Any idea on what a good price around the area is for something like this? Also. . . any benefits of me ordering a unit from a site like hvac direct and having someone install it? Or do companies even dabble in installing 3rd party systems? I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks in advance! -Bill
  11. That's awesome. . you rarely see a prelude with those kind of reliable miles as they are just driven to hell by teenagers. Has any recent maintenance been done (brakes/tires/battery/etc) and has any major maintenance been performed recently or at all other than timing belt at 270k.
