  1. I lol at the people saying, 'it's all who you hang out with, my friends are...' then try to use that as a reason why there is no 'Millennial problem.' Sure, this guys circle of friends can influence his thinking, the same as yours does to you. This isn't about old people looking down at the whipper-snappers, and this isn't about people dis-interested in being car enthusiasts. This is about the number of people in this generation that are completely apathetic about driving at all. Sure, your dad, uncle, cousins, etc don't know anything about cars. But they've wanted to drive ever since they were a little kid, and they were probably in line at the DMV before it opened on their 16th birthday. The Millennial problem is not some anecdotal bull shit people have dreamed up due to their clueless friends. This is a widespread trend that has been proven with research. This generation is waiting longer to get their drivers license (if they get it at all), and fewer are purchasing vehicles.
  2. p.s. For the Diesel Grand Cherokee: If you opt for the two-wheel-drive model, you get the 7400-pound maximum towing capacity and 30 mpg on the highway, providing a range of over 730 miles. Choosing 4WD means a choice of three systems--full-time (Quadra-Trac I, essentially AWD), part-time with a two-speed transfer case (Quadra-Trac II), and Quadra-Drive II, which adds an electronic limited-slip differential--and the crawl ratio can be as good as 44:1. The penalties aren't severe, either: fuel economy goes down to 28 mpg on the highway and towing capacity is a mere 200 pounds lower Read more: http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/suv/163_2014_jeep_grand_cherokee_diesel_first_drive/#ixzz2RraUSDPy
  3. I'm lumping Hipsters and Millennial's together in my rant because they are both in the 20-30 something range, although I hate it when someone refers to me as a Millennial. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Y Exactly what I have seen, although this is more in the 20-27 range. Most of the people in the age range that I went to school with (28-34) I've had drastically different experience with. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hipster Also, in their 20's and 30's but I see them as a more extreme result of trophy-kid syndrome. This sub-culture bothers me the most, as they are almost completely unemployable in society. Hipsters are Millennial's, but not all Millennial's are Hipsters.
  4. The Old WK Diesel used a Mercedes diesel, the new one uses a Fiat/VM diesel.
  5. I have said it once and I'll say it again. I have a complete lack of faith in the younger generation. I have interviewed multiple millennial's for positions at my company and all of them show a complete lack of comprehension, poor problem solving, extremely cocky/self-centered, and aren't very articulate. This generation is used to being entertained 24/7, having all the answers at their finger tips, and being told that everything they do is awesome (no matter how bad they suck). They are lazy, stupid, and think that they deserve to get paid like an executive for doing Burger King-type work. Fuck hipsters.
  6. Not even the new Grand Cherokee Diesel?
  7. http://www.ultimateburger.net/ ? Thanks for the tip, but that one's going to be a tough sell for the wife (she can't eat gluten).
  8. You made GM's Fan Friday Facebook cover photo!
  9. Awesome. We booked based on what rooms have been renovated, so we should be ok there. We rented a car and plan on stopping at Target for some supplies after we leave the airport.
  10. Yeah, it got here yesterday. I really appreciate it.
  11. Gotta give a big thanks to gillbot for going out of his way to help me out. Even if there are a lot of trolls, there are still a great bunch of people on CR.
  12. Thanks for the tip! Looks like it's right next to our hotel (we're at the Hilton). We'll have to check it out.
  13. Wow. Almost makes me want a Mustang. Just curious, up top the boost creeps up, but power flattens out. Any idea why? Exhaust restriction? Cam lift/timing? Head flow?
  14. Nice work. I'll be leaving for the big island Hawaii next week. I should add that up too, since most of it's been done with points.
  15. Did you just offer up pics of your wife's box?
  16. April 13, 2012 he made the first post about trying to line up races, and that was after it was at IPS for a while.
  17. This morning a neighbor tweeted a bullet hole through his wall and desk chair.
  18. True, and my Swiss Army backpack is similar also. The suspicious thing about this guy is he is photographed several times with his backpack, but just before the bomb went off he is seen moving through the crowd away from the bombs location (where he is originally pictured) but he no longer has his backpack.
  19. You mean like this guys? http://i.imgur.com/39KZqbbh.jpg http://imgur.com/a/sUrnA
  20. I still don't think it's those guys, since the one photo is after the explosions and they are still wearing their backpacks. Now the guy in the white hat that is seen leaving the area without his backpack is another story.
  21. Glad to hear she is ok. That has to be nerve wracking. Some news stories are already revising the story of the 8 year old boy too. He was there with his family and was standing on the fence with a few other little kids (sisters?). His father was not running that day. However it happend it's a sad story, but there are some news outlets reporting that the boy ran out and hugged his dad as he approached the finish line, only to step back to the curb and die, but this morning they said that was false.
  22. One thing that stands out to me is how long after the initial explosion the flags were violently blowing around. They were relatively calm just before the explosion, so either the wind coincidentally increased, or there was a long and large expansion of gasses. The hospital is saying that the shrapnel they are pulling out of the victims are not typical, but mostly regular objects you would find on the street. It was definitely a simple home-built device, and the fact that no one has claimed responsibility leads me to believe it's some crazy individual acting alone.
  23. Development cars are driven in all conditions. That's what M-plates (Manufacturer license plates) are for. They're not customer vehicles that only get brought out on a sunny day.
