  1. It's about fucking time someone with sense came along.
  2. I'm interested in the Shocker. May I see some pictures?
  3. Quit being a dumbass Kerry. Buy ramen until the end of the year.
  4. Subaru again counting on their fanboys to cover the bill instead of doing something new or daring to attract other buyers. yawn
  5. I really enjoyed my drives of the Honda Ridgeline. Got one on order.
  6. :lolguy: :lolguy: :lolguy: :lolguy: :lolguy: :lolguy: Thanks for that. I went a slightly different direction than I expected. I sent the Porsche off to have a new, professionally-built race motor put into it. So I'm going to keep it. I have the Viper at Clifford Automotive getting a respray back to the OEM paint color to boost its value and I've got a trade offer when it returns at a local dealership for a brand new Honda Ridgeline and some cash back. I know it seems a little sideways but I've entered my 30's and it seems like the right choice to slow down. This will help me get a rig to tow the Porsche. Having lower gas costs (the Viper was like $150 a week with bad traffic) are important because my research and sources tell me the market's due to crash in 6 months here in Columbus.
  7. Looking good! I'm going to go see the Akron boys this year.
  8. Rick fixed the seep in my oil pan and relocated some sensors into an exhaust pipe for me. No shop around town was capable of cutting and fabbing it for me. Outstanding work. Wouldn't have guessed this. Hopefully he stays among the rest of us during that'll of that.
  9. He's been mistaken as me a few times actually. My car is black with white and gay-green stripes. http://i.imgur.com/CpKzHeD.jpg

  11. Not me man. I'm East side and I work downtown.
  12. Just to address a couple of your questions: Intake - Grab a cheap Edelbrock Carb - Holley or QFT. You'll want a 500cfm at your power. 650 if you want to have the room to grow on your cylinder heads. Cam - That's really dependent upon preference. Distributor - Use a oem reman. and the Ford Duraspark unit. Oil pan - Use the stock pan and buy a baffle kit that's how I did mine. They don't really have a lot of oiling issues with a proper baffle and oil pump shaft. As for those exploder heads...I hate them and they're heavy. You should just do the aluminum x heads for <$1K and skip having to work on it again.
  13. I'm not quite sure how to answer that. I hit my lines, I'm comfortable in traffic. I'm still in "learning mode" and am working toward my comp license this year. I think my annual review would read "performing as expected". I took the Viper out to Mid Ohio for the April Shawshank weekend. It was 40 degrees and damp and I was running 1:50x. The only benchmark I can find is a bolt on car with Hoosier slicks and a pro driver ran 1:37-1:38 at SCCA runoffs, with ideal conditions. The faster guys with 944 SPEC go 1:42-1:45. I intend to find out in June where I land with that.

  15. I could consider replacing both cars with ONE do all, be-all champion; true master race. I share the garage and hate having to shuffle one car out from the other when I decide the one tucked away is the one I want. IF I were dumb enough to trade in both I could spend reasonably around $80K on a single car. That car would have to be a unicorn. Mild gas consumption, stupid fast, nimble and offer creature comforts.
  16. I don't like BMW or a lot of their drivers. I don't want something that I'll have to put much work into (thinking that Camaro would fall into that category). Slow down there Boss Hogg...that's fail wheel drive. Both amigo.
  17. All good points Andy. But I'm looking for something with slightly more ability in the straights than the Porsche. And my Viper is sort of, well, retarded. It would give a veteran racer some pucker moments in its current form. Maybe if it at least had ABS. That's also my daily driver...
  18. Mr. Rainwater is right. I forgot this is a car forum and curb weights are like bra sizes...the definition of what's big and small can vary. A "light car" is <3450lbs to me. I hope that helps.
  19. If I buy one Brian will sell his. I don't want to break up a happy relationship. Then he's left with that cool sweater he has and no 1LE.
  20. So I'm searching for a new car. I told myself I wouldn't do it this year because it seems like I've had a new one every year for the past decade from varying degrees of econobox, projects and fun cars. I might be sick. Anyway, I'm looking to replace the Porsche with something a little faster that's maybe probably not another Porsche, preferably. $30K is the MAX of my budget. This is my track car currently and I would like this one to serve the same purpose. I'm open to AWD and RWD, not FWD. It needs to be fast, but not too fast. Light-weight and get good gas mileage so that track weekends aren't retarded expensive in consumables. I don’t want something that’s yellow, red or silver. My other car is silver and the other two make me think of McBappies. Oh ya, no automatics. Get dat bull ish outta here.
