  1. Drove to Dan Tobin Pontiac last night to take a look at the 05 GTO up close and in person. Pictures don’t do the car justice. The hood looks much better live than in pictures. The suck part, is that the air box isn’t connected to the scoops for cold air. So you still need to purchase an aftermarket hood system for that. If I trade up then I definitely want to go with the sport trim package. 2004 GTO Phantom Black / Black 5.7L V8 Tremec M12 6-speed 1996 Z28 Pearl 2 tone Green blue / Black 5.7L V8 Tremec T56 6-speed 1985 GMC SIERRA Blue / Blue 5.7L V8 Automatic 4 speed
  2. State Poohpers have quotas. As far as I can tell Poohpers get no tax dollars and are funded entirely from praying on the public. [ 31. March 2005, 03:02 PM: Message edited by: High Octane ]
  3. Needs a 6-speed standard version
  4. I'm going to take a look at the 05 in person. The higher Hp and breaks can't hurt. From the pictures I've seen, the hood scoop makes the car look gay. 2004 GTO Phantom Black / Black 5.7L V8 Tremec M12 6-speed 1996 Z28 Pearl 2 tone Green blue / Black 5.7L V8 Tremec T56 6-speed 1985 GMC SIERRA Blue / Blue 5.7L V8 Automatic 4 speed
  5. front plates suck, the only thing they acomplish is to make your ride look like shit in the front.
  6. The Z28 and GTO get Mobile 1 every 3,000, they deserve it because they work really HARD. The Sierra gets dino-oil (Quaker State extended-life for engines over 75,000 miles, every 3,000.
  7. What your doing is comparing a high power sports car, to a high power pony car. In my limited experience Auto Crossing and Tracking the vette dominates with relative ease. Drivers equal, the pony is going to get smoked bad on all forms of competition other than a boring straight-line. I vote for the Vette.
  8. I haven't eaten yet sounds good.
  9. View of A Pontiac 04’ GTO owner. I bought my 04’ GTO in March and have put 11,000 miles on it. It’s been on MidOhio Raceway, Nelson Ledges Raceway, Beavrun Raceway, and Gingerman Raceway I’ve even OVR SCCA autocrossed it. I do agree that GM made a mistake in using Pontiac GTO for the Holden Monaro’s introduction to the US. The Holden Monaro is not “granny’s econo box tempest with a big motor”. The Monaro CV8, cost $60,490.00 AUD witch converts to $47,013.15 USD, the GTO is a steal at $33,600. The Holden Monaro, is not a straight line brick, it is a contemporary, stylish sport sedan, capable of running with and beating it’s peers S4, CTS, 330’s etc. And: For the record, if I park my 04' GTO (Holden Monaro) next to ANY year Grand Prix. There is ABSOULTY NO resemblance from any angle, between the cars. The statement that the GTO looks like a grand prix is just as absurd as claiming the Cobra looks like a Probe, or a firebird looks like a sunbird. Just plain outlandishly wrong I say.
  10. Police Going After 'Superspeeders' High Rates Of Speed Concerning Police As the holiday weekend begins, state troopers are on high alert for a growing breed of so-called "superspeeders." Police say superspeeders are drivers who top more than 100 mph or drive 20 to 40 miles over the speed limit. In 1993, state troopers said they stopped 400 superspeeders in Ohio. Last year that number tripled to more than 1,200, police said. Police say faster cars, better roads and better radar detectors are the reason for increased speeders.
  11. got bounced use dan.walters@ameteksci.com anything now? No ac work? Yes DSM? Don't know to 5 speed? Yes
  12. I guess from your second PM that you are not interested after all.

  14. To bad it's only a concept car.
  15. I've got a Tremec T56 and never had a problem with my stock rearend, but I don't drag race. I find my inner peace and harmony at speeds above 100Mph.
  16. Just when you think you seen the dumbest human trick ever possible. Some one goes out and makes a human that is even dumber, I'm beginning to believe that the level of stupidity humanity can reach is limitless. I’m sure some one will gladly pay this absurd price.
  17. Really nice ride, I went the other way, but to each they’re own and all that. My decision was actually based more on the Holden Monaro performance, than the Pontiac GTO heritage. The fact that I now own a GOAT is just a bonus. [ 16. August 2004, 02:05 PM: Message edited by: High Octane ]
  18. Below in number of cars on the road only. I never wanted to drive a car that was so common you saw hundreds of them every time you hit the road, every parking lot you see at least a dozen mustangs, no thanks. besides I already have an impractical car in my Z28. If I bought another impractical car it would have been Z06 not a ford. The original GTO was a family sedan with a big motor for racing on the weekend. My car is similar in that it is roomy and gives a good comfortable ride for about town and long trips, and kicks ass on tracks like Nelson Ledegs, MidOhio raceway, and Beavrun raceway, and soon Gingerman raceway. If the Monaro wasn’t available, then I would have bought an M3.
  19. I looked at the Cobra's and liked the power, can never have too much power. My dad drives fords and loves them, but me I'm a GM/Crysler kind of guy and if I can't buy a brand new Camero SS then I want a brand new Holden Monaro. The cool part is Holden fixed f-body gay cat hump on the passanger floor the worthless back seat's good only for people under 4 foot.
