  1. All I ever see about air shows is when the plains crash into a crowd of people...

I've seen the plains gently rise to the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains. But that was not an air show. It was a drive through Nebraska!

  2. Good luck, probably one of the hardest clubs to get on. Only one I know that is harder would be double eagle. You'll have to know a member or have some kind of business connection to a company that has a member to sponsor you.

I made it to the final 2 for Clubhouse Manager of Double Eagle about 15 years ago. I guess my interview with John H. McConnell didn't go as well as I thought.

I can get myself and a friend on any of these courses. It would require calling in favors from my fellow Club Managers, or from my members. Not really something I do on a whim, or for cash.

usually whatever it costs to maintain the club....divided by the number of members

Double Eagle does a lottery. One member is picked to pay the Club's expenses and receives a 30 year exemption from being included in the lottery.

  3. 5X Fail

Instead of being the self proclaimed grammar nazi, maybe you should focus on your spelling.

Wow! 23 hours and 21 posts later and someone finally noticed, and it wasn't even you first! Anyone with spell checking software, which I have on, should have had the whole post underlined. BTW, the n in Nazi is always to be capitalized!

Nicely done Brian, I own you a beer. It's been too long since we had one!

I never proclaimed myself the Grammar Nazi, it was a moniker given to me by the giver of blue letters: root (Chris).

  4. Nice deal. Just picked up a 2008 Forum LRG Deck off craigslist. tis the season indeed :) Also, marshalls has a bunch of 08 - 09 Burton shit for DIRTY cheap. Got a new set of pants and gloves for under 100$.

TJMAXX has Spyder and North Face shit uber cheeeeep as well. Got a Spyder Component jacket and a Spyder underlayer shirt for $110.

  5. Theres usually a button on the unit itself that you need to press to allow new keypads. For whatever reason it may just need to be re-added. Check your manual, or get online.

Correct. Google the directions for resetting. I will more than likely involve a ladder and some sequence of buttons and lights flashing. It's easier to have a helper with you.

  6. Get in your car right now, and drive as fast as you can to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

It's pretty enough on its own, then add this:

Waves are supposed to hit 20-25ft before the gale is done.

See 25ft sea wavse and try not to be impressed. See 25ft freshwater waves and try not to be incontinent; they're much steeper, faster, and in much quicker succession.

    Eric,

Please dumb down your posts if you want CR members to comprehend them. I have placed the vocabulary violation in bolded letters.

    Respects,

    Grammar Nazi

  7. 1. The Cleveland Browns Suck! They epitomize all that is suck in the NFL. Thank god I am not a Browns fan.

    2. Max and Erma's lunchtime "Erma Combo" is the bomb! It includes a cup of the awesome Tortilla soup, a 6 oz. cheeseburger with seasoned fries, and a warm chocolate chip cookie all for $8.99. Such a pleasurable bloat!

    3. I hate my job through the holidays! Early tomorrow morning I begin a 21 consecutive day, 12 or more hour per day, stretch where I will be physically and mentally taxed to the limit. Not to mention the mind-numbingly endless stream of Christmas music.

I will be popping by and chatting/posting at random in the next few weeks. If i happen to offend you with my schizophrenic lashes out at your stupidity, be forewarned! I don't, and won't, give a fuck!

And yes OBESERVATIONS, as my man handles have grown to epic proportions!

  8. I know a guy who opened up his first Jimmy John's this year with plans to open up more. For reference http://www.jimmyjohns.com/franchise/investment.aspx

Said guy was my Boss for 3 years. I see him every few weeks. He has been open for almost a year and is barely profitable. He works behind the counter 80 hours a week, and does more work at home on his computer. His store will be profitable before most, but he lives the business. I used to have drinks with him once or twice a week. It's now been 5 months.

Franchaising can be profitable but it takes years, if not decades, to build a fleet of stores. You need several stores to live comfortably.
