  1. It all depends what you want. It’d be similar to asking how to build a fast Corvette.

I’ve done remodels for $3k and I’ve done them for $15k. Give us to meat here and I can give you a good answer. Size? Quality? High end? Appliances? Flooring?

Brad, thanks for your response. Rough guess here, but the thought would be remove a wall and take the current 12x12 kitchen, and combine it with the 12x12 dining room, thus creating a large kitchen. The entire first floor would have all the flooring replaced as well, and new drywalled ceilings so there's that expense too. For the kitchen there would be moving of utilities, potential moving of windows, etc. Mid-high end everything would be my initial thought. I did something similar at my last house, but did all the work myself, if I remember right I was at $10k all in, but it was a much smaller space.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  2. We are just in the thinking stages of this process, but wanted to get some input. Has anyone used a contractor for a large scale kitchen/house remodel? If so, who, how did it go, and would you recommend them? It seems odd to me that rough online estimates are $15k-$150k...pretty large gap.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  3. My 05 Honda pilot used to do this too. Only at very light throttle. I replaced some solenoids for 3rd and 4th gear hoping it would fix it, it didn't. I never got it resolved before selling it. Seems like its a pretty common issue.

The software flash could change line pressure or shift points and get rid of it I suppose. I never tried taking mine to the dealer.

We had my wife's previous, previous Odyssey at Roush for the same issue, plus serious 3-4 shift issues, plus all kinds of dash lights. Roush quoted a new transmission, plus labor. We sold it for nothing, and told the new owner it needed a transmission. I ran into the new owner three months later, and he told my that Germain Honda put two solenoids in it, and it ran like new.

Long story short, get a second opinion if you feel you need to, and Odyssey transmissions sucked until 06+.

    Thanks,

    Tom

  4. Great pickup, sounds like you are fixing all the things needed. Does it need a low pressure fuel sensor still? I'm curious how bad that job is. This should be an easy flip, if you decide to sell it.

  5. Why's everyone so down on pavers?

    +1

I'm curious on this too. I get stamped concrete is normally significantly cheaper, but what are the other pros vs. cons? It's not fun when concrete cracks, pavers are replaceable.

BTW...I've seen pictures of Sam's work, and it all looks amazing.

  6. Yokohoma geolander a/t. 265/70/16. Still great tread depth, no issues in snow this year. I haven't measured the tread depth, but here's the old penny shot.

Currently on the 4runner untill the G8 sells and I buy from Derek, but if someone wants them I'll go ahead and buy the larger tires.

    $250

Great deal here...like all good sets of tires, these came from Derek too.

  7. So, I might buy one-two (new to us) used cars. A brief online search keeps pointing to a wholesaler just south of Cleveland (kdkauto.com). It seems like those guys are only making a couple hundred per car...anyone legit doing this in town? Craigslist is a joke like always.

    Thanks,

    Tom
