is you system a little low on freon? if there isnt enough in the system, the low pressure switch will prevent the system engaging to keep the compressor from being damaged. i am not framiliar with mazda systems, just the gm/harris r 12 systems.

looking at the backside of the board, there should be some heavy solder traces, they go from the power input lugs to the power regulator and power capacitors. look along these heavy traces for any cracks in the board or the trace. Also, if you have a VOM, check the trace from one end to another, see if there is a bad conection, or just a lose sloder joint that intermitenetly conects when pressure is aplied or it wiggles.

You could enroll at osu and take some of the begining aviation courses, wich will get you your private liscsnce in a relatively short time. gota try, it could just be that one time the deal is sweet. when one of my co workers told me he had a 66 plymouth he was tired of looking at, and he said hed let it go for 300, i thought it had to be a pos that was rusted to the ground. for grins, I rode home with him, saw the car, creamed my pants, walked to the atm, got 300 out, and drove it home. best of luck, i hope it is legit and works out for ya.

I can throw it on a scope, see how bad it is, and if i can find parts, fix her up. mhat model, how old? depends on what is wrong on the board. if one transistor smoked and didnt take any of the preamp with it, or burn holes through the board, it could be fixable. if the board does need replaced, you may be better off buying a new amp. some proprioterry (sp) parts are imposible to find, or are so overpriced its not worth it to fix.

bad conection on the circuit board, probably as simple as re soldering a circuit trace or replacing a conection. i could take a look at it and see. symptoms, age, last time used, what did it do? If I can get my workbench finished and find the floor in my basement soon, Ill start fixing stuff like this, since it seems there is a demand for it.

i very highly doubt this kid is on anything yet, so he sould be able to perform later on without anything in his system. hate to see so much potential OD.
