  2. I am having a problem with my baby. I have a 727 torqueflite behind a 440 in a 66 plymouth satelite (b-body) Today when letting out of a light, i broke lose, and it sounded like there was lose gravel on the road, but the noise came from the transmission. Under light acceleration i have no problems, but when i give it more than 1/3 throttle it makes the "lose gravel" noise. Any idea what is going on?
  3. the drivers seat in my satelite has a split in it about 10" long, on one of the seams. Anyone know a place that fixes it for a decent price? Thanks Andrew

  5. for safetys sake, dont spray starter fluid with an open flame of while smoking, otherwise bigger problems will arrise...... (not from my own experiance, but i have a friend that had no eyebrows for about a month)
  6. Having a big problem with a friends pickup. It is a 1999 chevy silverado, 5.3l v-8, z-71. The ABS motor stays on at all times. I have seen 700 for a new abs unit, and about 2 hours of labor at your friendly GM dealer. Anyone have a good abs unit laying around the wana unload cheap, or advice on who carries this part for a reasonable cost? Thanks Andrew

  9. jegs: 130-46112 get you a shift knob with the switch already installed 741-15879 will get you a throttle switch 741-15606 is a covered switch similar to arcraft switches, a good master switch for the whole system. as far a wiring it all up........ in order, the master switch will come first, followed by the throttle switch, so you are at full throttle, and not wasing that shot of n02. Then the knob switch, so it is activated only when you really want to use it. Apply the output of the final switch to a 20 or 30 amp realy, use the output of the relay to fire both the fuel and n02 selonids, and make sure you have plenty of fuel pressure. as an added safety, 741-15750 is a fuel pressure switch that will shut off your system is the fuel presure drops below a safe range, not sure if it is calibrated to a carb system or a high pressure fuel injection system
  10. just buy a wing and powdercaot it, see if you can get that extra 7 or 8 hp
  11. if you are painting a engine, the best tine is right after you get it back from the macine shop (eg. freshly hot tanked) otherwise, a good chemical cleaner and no sand blasting unless you have a death wish for your engine oh yeah, make sure the paint has a tempature rating on it. 600 should work for an engine block and heads, but higher is better [ 21 February 2002: Message edited by: Lustalbert ]
  12. really wana clear up the weirht tranfer and hopping issues, try a custom 4 link, and move your axle as far forward as you can. the further forward it is, the more wight that will be transfered when you launch
  13. every time ive ever dealt with turbos, there has been a lag time unless you have the turbos spooled up already.(i started in diesel engines) noting against turbos, i think anyone putting forced induction on a car has a sweet ride. I think a turbo setup like that is probaly a better choice for a daily driver, especialy since there are no obvious external mods. Just tlike the look of a polished 8-71 with a huge belt spinning aound it sticking out of the hood. By the way, what reared did you hafto put in that? I would think the factory 8 3/4 chrysler rear wouldnt take that power to well.
  14. Hell, if were gona go for broke, no cash flow problems, no problems finding parts, ect... 528 ci chrysler hemi (bored and stroked, $15k from chysler performance products) 2.25 intake, 1.94 exhaust 8-71 blower @ 10 lbs limit 292 adv duration cam, .530 lift 8.0:1 comp forged everything 2lbs/min nitrous(intercooler in a bottle) 1139 hp @ 6500 991 ft lbs @ 5400 (computer simulated dyno) ah, if only i was in a dream world and won the lottery.........
  15. Another one to try, Mondello (heads by Mondello, Dr. olds ect.) Not sure what he charges to do a chevy heead, but his drag porting on olds 455 heads are good for 120 hp or more he used to race chevy in ski boats, so i am sure he know some chevy tricks to
