  1. does MLS see all this kerfuffle as hurting their org at all? It seems to me the longer things drag on, the less enthuastic people are going to be about the crew staying or Cbus having another expansion team.

We're in the middle of it so it seems like a big deal, and it's surely going to hurt the brand a little bit in the short term, but the negative PR I see is mostly people holding signs at other teams' games. Which means tickets were purchased...which means the MLS got what they needed.

Until people speak with their wallets nothing will change.

As of 12:42pm EST, watching the live Twitter feed, I'm impressed by the concessions Austin's City Council is trying to avoid with Precourt.

Everything I've seen, including snippets of today's meeting, makes me think the Crew will not leave. I think Austin City Council will move forward in the process based on the assumption that they will get the language they need and make the concessions required of Precourt numerous and legally binding, which will strengthen Ohio's case against them under the Modell law, which will end up dragging the process out longer than Precourt or Garber want, which will sink the bid.

  3. We just hosted an event at Vue in German Village. We supplied the alcohol, and it wasn't tight with 150ish people. No clue on cost, the only issue we had was parking...maybe ask for a deal with the Grange garage?

    Tom

Vue is legit, and not extremely expensive. Probably could coordinate with an event valet company or something for parking.

  4. “The emails definitely show that the police lied about it being a prostitution and human trafficking mission,” the whistleblower said.

    I'm shocked!

In unrelated news, anyone want to talk about The_Donald users brigading to get James Gunn fired from GotG3, and then Dan Harmon harassed, because they dare to speak out against Trump?

    Bunch of fucking snowflakes.

Check your sources please. This guy is a known nutjob. I am mostly anti-POTUS45 but the spread of this type of actual fake news to support the notion that CPD is "out to get" Stormy Daniels is counterproductive to investigating if there actually was some malfeasance, and is outright libelous if there wasn't.

TL;DR it's all bullshit until proven otherwise. Why do you think someone would go to the Fayette Advocate before the myriad other left-leaning publications in the area???

  5. Its not legal in the state of Ohio though. Also shouldn't the establishment take some fault for it as well? Also curious if there were any other girls that danced before her and were doing the same thing. If so were they arrested or was stormy singled out?

It's required by OH law that if someone honks their horn at you in order to pass, you MUST (unless passing on the right is permitted) move to the right, maintain speed, and allow that person to pass. I would be OK if CPD saw it fit to provide a 3-to-1 officer-to-offender ratio on that sort of enforcement since that is arguably a great public safety hazard, but alas, we're stuck with a department that sees fit to enforce the titty laws.

  6. Burr Oak state park is a cool place to rent a cabin. You can find some good ones on Airbnb and VRBO.

When I planned a bachelor weekend we went down to Cincy and had an absolutely blast. We had a bit longer but it involved a couple rounds of golf, a Reds game (club level/open bar), bourbon trail, the riverboat casino, etc.

  7. Griffith Observatory is not far from the Hollywood sign, Santa Monica beach is pretty great.

Be prepared for the shit traffic. Don't get frustrated, just be prepared. It is going to SUCK. I've driven LA, DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, and Lisbon traffic. LA is my least favorite. Just have something to do in the car like a podcast or satellite radio.

Costa Mesa kinda sucks but we found a couple really good sushi places there, I think one of them was called Shunka.

Get up into the hills for some driving if you can.

  8. That Wiki mind-fucked me haha. Damn I suck at this stuff.

Thanks man- yeah, the guy at MC last night talked a lot about the Thunderbolt option but again, IDK wtf that is. So basically if I want to run things with a regular USB (my printer), I need a this?: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Compatible-MacBook-Chromebook-Galaxy/dp/B07449RJV8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1527770747&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=USB+C+to+USB&psc=1

The easy way to explain it is that USB-C (what you referred to as mini USB) is a shape of a connector, and Thunderbolt is a standard for data delivery via a connector, in this case USB-C. No big deal if you don't have Thunderbolt, for what you're using it's not likely you'll ever feel like you're missing out.

EDIT: and for monitors, I find the best deals are always just chatting up the employees in those sections at MC or BestBuy and asking if they have any open box or refurb deals, and just tell them your budget. They've always hooked me up, the last time I went to Best Buy I got a 29" widescreen monitor under $200.

  9. Might be a little late to the party, but I do account management (95%) and sales (5%) for a formerly small (25 employees) now large (900+) regional MSP.

You represent our greatest competition; cheap, break/fix, on call labor that is good enough for most businesses needs.

I'd be happy to chat by phone and tell you a bit about my job and the client-facing side of things. I'm the one who hears all the complaints about service delivery, about response times, about costs, etc. I can shed a bit of light on what most clients are really interested in.

One initial piece of advice I'll give you is to verticalize quickly. It's very useful to become known as "the IT guy for _______" because peers in certain businesses will ALWAYS be looking for ways to reduce their IT costs. We work primarily with attorneys because our old CEO was a cop for 20 years and had a lot of relationships.

  10. Not me, but when I sold cars i had a client in an Abarth drive down to Louisiana to visit family. They even called ahead of time to ask if it was ok to put regular in. They've got knock sensors and will detune if they sense bad gas so I said it was fine but to really try to go to gas stations in populated areas and use premium when possible.

They stopped in BFE and filled up with premium. Locals knew that the Premium pumps were actually full of diesel, but they didn't know that til they got to the road and the engine died.

Long story short, they had to hire a lawyer but the LA FIAT dealer came through big time with a loaner car for the week they were down there, got the new motor installed, and had them home in their own car. Lawyer found that the gas station hadn't been properly inspected in 5 years. Sued and won, my customer had nothing out of pocket except for all the gifts they bought for me (coordinating roadside assistance on a Saturday night when I was drunk and partying), the LA FIAT dealer, and the attorney.

  11. For an alternative, I believe you can get the HP Elitebook x360 1030 with 4G LTE service. Just add that bitch on your Verizon plan and forget the phone.

I've got a bunch of attorneys (as clients) who have them and they love them. One of them claims he can squeak 12 hours of battery out of his.

I'm agnostic when it comes to brand; HP, Dell, Lenovo, they're all Chinese built crap, but Dell has good warranty support. Just make sure you buy a ProSupport Plus warranty so you actually deal with someone in America.

  12. I have that Magpul stock, I just haven't put my bull barrel in it yet. Hoping to get to it this weekend or next. Everyone has pretty much hit the good stuff. I really like the 10/22, I guess that's how you end up with three of them. Anyone have one suppressed?

After having torn it down and put it back together with the new parts, I can see clearly that I will not stop at 1. Will be out testing this weekend.

  13. 2014-15 Hyundai Genesis? I see a handful on Autotrader, you can't filter by AWD easily but they're out there. 29mpg hwy, plenty of space, AWD, within price range.

They're not insanely good cars but bang-for-your-buck is gonna be hard to top in that price range.

  14. I see a red one a few times a day near me (near the Budweiser plant), have seen a black one humming around town too.

All other things aside, I don't like the all-touch interface. I like a mix, and for the $$$, there's better BEVs in its price range IMO.
