  1. See? I me ouch, damn. You should borrow the XR7 for Beaverun, I'll tech it, no problems.
  2. http://johngushue.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/07/13/god_listens_to_slayer.jpg
  3. Not neccesarily. They out option the Thunderbird (heavy seats, sound deadener, air ride stuff) yet have the same curb weight. Lincoln did this by using lightweight materials throughout the construction. So, when you gut the car, it's a hundred or so pounds lighter than its MN12 counterparts. You can take them down to 3000lb without cutting, then add a cage and start cutting. loose the 4r70w for a tremec and you'll lose more weight and parasitic power loss. You need to have a spring seat in your lower control arms in the rear. That's about it. Think of a rubber thing shaped like a top hat. the diameter of the spring is smaller than the diameter of the air-ride bladder seat.
  4. Yes and no. The HPDE lap days puts people of similar skill levels in the same group. My last day of HPDE 2, I was slaughtering the group like a wolf upon lambs. My first day in HPDE3, though, was the first time I'd been passed by anything in a while... it was a race prepped GT2 on R compounds.
  5. Just long boat rides with heavy bracelets.
  6. Back of the head. Rowers go backwards. Did yours have baby pontoons on the riggers, or were they more like the wider "Open water" Aldens?
  7. With a bit more cynisism: Couldn't whole-heart some workouts in front of the journalist? Exactly, note that the article says; " majority of competitive rowers are white". She's not even the only cultural misfit. also, she's spending her siblings college savings.
  8. It will be very hard to get that not to suck, unless it's Dune'esque and 4 hours long while also having the absolute best writing in the history of forever. Plus, Whendon is directing, and that guy is hit or miss. Meaning he either shits gold or just plain shits the bed.
  9. Sympathies mate, for sure, but she's still gets a "you're doing it wrong". Get in shape first, start slow, drop the pounds, THEN exert yourself. And it's not like I'm saying she's to fat to be a model. She's too out-of-shape to engage in a grueling physical activity, it's dangerous and irresponcible, and I hope there has been a waiver involved somewhere. This isn't Gattica, it's sense. Hypothetical: Rowing, tired, exhausted... asthma attack, collapes into water, lungs full of water, too heavy to be easily hoisted out by rescuers, dead. This is a very real possibility, you have to balance those boats because they're so narrow.
  10. ... this is not news because she's black or poor. It's news because she dangerously overwheight and athsmatic, in a sport that requires balance, bouyancy, and lots of fucking cardio. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/12/AR2010051205193.html She should not be there, this will not be a feel good story when she dies. At least she sculls solo. As for her mom; Yes, it's great that you support your kid in the chasing of her dreams.... but what the hell are yo setting her up for? Pro-Tip, get your kids involved in things that they can succeed at, and they'll be happier. Let'm dabble in fun stuff, but don't let them devote their time and efforts to something that's just going to crush their souls when it ends in failure.... or tragety.
  11. .... Was Micky Rourke supposed to be younger than Downey Jr in this flick. ?
  12. Would you like to be slapped by him or me? I open lap an MN12 and regularly make Fbodies and Mustangs look like absolute fools. My 190rwp tbird would turn similar laps to C5 Vetts at places like Mid Ohio and Beaverun. Pony cars hand like shit. period. They need thousands of dollars pumped into them to fix their defficiencies. I'm currently running a 3600lb, 250rwh Cougar in HPDE 3 that was never (never) passed by anything that doesn't have R compounds at this Aprils Mid Ohio event. 600hp C5s have had to get out of my way. I'll have 275 wide R compounds on it in July. You only know about main stream cars because you follow trends. The MN12 is wider, has a better suspension, can handle more tire, and handles infinitely better with no modifications than any Mustang GT or Z28 ever built. Would you like specifics? Would you like to know why the Mark 8 is a better platform than mine? You only see old folks driving these, you're infected with somethng called "Stigma." It also has the lowest drag coefficient of anything you could buy at the time, including supercars. http://www.markviii.org/LOD2/images/181%20mph%201993%20Mark%20VIII.jpg I win already. :bangbang: Great to have a Mark 8 on the board. Definately get rid of the Air Ride, its useless.
  13. too many important characters will ruin a movie. It's science. If you ask the audience to keep track of more than 4 or 5 people, they'll hate you. If you ask writers to write for that many characters, they'll half-ass each and every one.
  14. They're both good, both Oscar nominees... I guess Cheadle saw an entry into a lucrative franchise .... I wonder what each of them made.
  15. Last guy was good, they just brought in a bigger name this time 'roun d. Kind of annoying, actually. Saw it tonight, liked it, think it gave my kid ADD.
  16. Attempting to build quite a franchise. Fuck I hope the writes don't suck. I really liked the hulk as a character, I was bummed that the movies sucked.
  17. Anyone seen it? Thinking of taking my boy tonight. If it's no more PG13 than the last one, I'm thinking it should be allright.

  20. It's actually not a bad idea at all, when you consider how many managers get shot when leaving with deposits. The key is to not rely on fucktards... which is tough at Taco Bell, because no one else applies for those jobs.
  21. They handed it to her. These days folk are strapped for cash, not hard to beleive that she'd keep it. Plus if she's eating at Taco Bell, you know she makes poor life choices: http://www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/daytoncrime/entries/2010/05/12/a_young_woman_in_her.html?cxntlid=cmg_cntnt_rss
