That attitude is the only reason he pproved you. tongue.gif Big Papa, its realy quite simple, try not to take offence: -Have you participated in an autocross, track event, or rally? -Do you posses a vehicle devoted to such practices? -Have you engaged in rediculous E-flaming? Its simply not the place for ya.

I never said get caught. If you can't do something as simple and quick as that and not get caught, you suck at life and deserve to do time.

That pic is the current Papal whip, a benze M class. I don't think the new prancing pony popemobile will be reveled untill it is given to the pope, its Ferraris style. "You dont need a teaser, it is a Ferrari and you will love it." Ferrari has been dominant in motor racing loooong before 1990. They just kinda sucked at F1 for a while back then.

Horrible movie, I haven't laughed so hard, so consistently, in a long time. If you haven't seen it yet, dont let anyone tell you about it, half the hilarity is the suprises. For the first time ever, I actuly found myself offended by a movie/show/media form. Didn't think they should have used Arlington or the Vietnam Memorial. Guess it kinda makes me like the movie more. Republicans, you're going to love this flick, garaunteed. graemlins/thumb.gif

figured I'd check on more time since new faces have joined since my last trip. As some of you may know, I have picked up the habbit of Mountaineering, aka Alpinism. I am currently planning yet another winter attempt at Longs Peak (Front Range Colordo). After having my ass kicked off the mountain by a storm last winter, I'm heding back with new insight and a slightly new plan. But, not to be anti social, I figure I'd offer up some spots to potential climbing team members on here. On new rule, different then the last. If you have no expereince, dont even think of asking to join in. Relying on an inexperienced climber is more dangerous then climbing alone. so for this, I'll be needing a wee lil "resume" of sorts. Requirements: -Experience with altitude -Experience with extreme cold (expect 20 below + hurricane force winds) -Prior climbing experience -tripple digit IQ -tough mother fucker There is choice of routes up this mountain in the winter, ranging from simple class 4-5 climbing/scrambling to a 1300ft sheer alpine wall. We will use one of 2 routes, depending on experience level. Basicaly, the easy ones, though still very dangerous. What I need prior to this climb is line experience. I dont have what I would consider adiquate experience with vertical rock. I need to learn lines, knots, anchors, and belay techniques. I have more ice experience then rock, and its not realy comperble, crampons/axes grip ice better then hands and boots grip rock. I'f I posses this knowlege, it opens up a new route to me, one that is comperbly safer then the so clled "non technical" one. Any rock climbers here that can 'larn' me this stuff? The route: 7 miles of this: http://climbingredrocks.com/community/trips/longs/5Hikeup.jpg We sleep here; http://www.climbingboulder.com/community/trips/longs/7BF_tents.jpg and either do the last 1000 feet traversing ledges like these, and gaining altitude in colouirs.... http://mattmahoney.net/longs/longs8.jpg or, wo do the more technical Cables route, straigh up this: http://www.camp4.com/photos/Mountain/longs1.jpg there's about 1000 fett of that, we hook tot he left and out of frame. It gets very verticle at points, but the snow and ice ctualy help things out.

oh shit, thats where he went!? Security detail for convoys is deffinately not a safe line of work these days. Tell him to watch his ass and sit on his helmet. -
this rant is spawned by something I heard on the ol radio today, an MI Homes ad: "Despeite what you may have heard, interest rates are still at all time lows..." Yeah that old Alan Greenspan dude doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. Is anyone else out there disturbed and slightly worried by the amount of companies making it easy for people to get into catastrophic debt? -Check Cashers. You get a cash advance tht you need to pay off the next week. After you pay it off, You're left with less then before, and therefore need another advance just to get by. It begines a visious cycle that results in the individual being in debt by weeks and weeks of pay, plus intrest. -"Smart loan" programs. It is not smart becuse people don't realize WHY the monthly payments are lower and WHY they will die before ever owning a stick of lumber in their house. -Intrest Only Payments. This is the worst I've seen and should be illegal. Never paying anything toward the principle is the worst idea in the history of money, and theirs people dumb enough to do it. -Easy loan places. "got bad credit? got no credit? bankrupcy? divorce? felony convictions?"...THEN YOU DONT NEED A LOAN! Lending money to people who obviously cant afford it. Normaly I'm all about the stupid people of the world feeling the worth of their mistakes, and dont generaly care about those who prey on idiocy. BUT this is leading us headlong into another depression, because, as it turns out, America is 80% stupid people. A quarter billion people filing bankrupcy WILL effect you no matter how financily secure you are. Thoughts? Clay, I'm looking forwrd to your input, you're knee deep in most hings fiscal. [ 14. I was speaking with USAF nd Navy recruiters, last meeting was sept 9, 2001. After sept 11 I reconsidered, knowing that many would use it as an excuse to do many things that were not in the best intrests of our nation. Not one to be a paun in some ones political game, I decided aginst it. Shame, too, I ws looking forward to it, the Navy has the best pilots in the world. When we're faced with a militry threat, one tht can actualy be fought by military ction, I'll be the first in line no matter how old I happen to be. I have the upmost respect for those who have served andI support our troops 100%. I have absolutely no faith in the leadership that is needlessly burning up thier lives. My father, uncle, a couple co-workers and a good freind of mine are vietnam vets. One, Glen Conn, was a corps'man (feild medical) and still carries shrapnel in his body. He'd dump the clip from his side arm as soon as he got, he ws that devoted to not killing anyone. My bossman worked on the ol deisel electric "sea poacher" in the engine room. After WWII, he ws a machinist with the Polaris project. His son, one of my best freinds, joined the navy 6 weeks before sept 11, and is now on duty in the gulf. They all share my feelings about these recent events. Our soldiers are too important to be wasted. Dont know any warriors, though. -
Can Am Targa Florio Mille Miglia (the real one ala 1921-1957) SCCA Pro Rally Spoiled Children Crashing Automobiles Thus I can see the insurance risk. tongue.gif Rally is literly the oldest form or motor racing on the planet. If you consider races held on public roads to be rallies, it hs been around for at least 3 millenia. These days we see the last few remining examples of real, true racing being pushed aside, ascimilated, or ultimately starved into oblivion. In lew of what? Bright, flashy, entertaining bastardized versions of pro wresting and soap operas on wheels. Max Mosely is the FIA's Tony George. He's even pointing Formula On int he direction of the IRL. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PINNACLE OF MOTORSPORT, YOU DO NOT SLOW THE CARS DOWN! How the hell is "one engine per every 2 races" going to make things more competitive?

Thats it, I'm putting a hit out on Max Mosley.
