  1. Friend had them sitting around and hooked them into the case and wired them.... then told me he did it.
  2. Rubbermaid tub, HVAC filter material, and silicone caulking. The garage produces loads of dust, metal, wood, plastic, etc. I have a centrifugal fan that pulls air through the filter and keeps positive pressure in the case at all times. The processor itself has it's own duct straight to the filter-box, it's visible as the desktop image.
  3. ...but it will save me having to print out my shop manuals. http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/9483/dscn3795.jpg I'd been cobbling together spare parts for a while, and finally got the power cord for the monitor. It required DC (from a docking station) and needed a converter.
  4. You're full of shit? Anorexic VEGAN.
  5. Good times.... but he was apparently pulling the kid in traffic. If the kid biffed it, other cars would have slid right over him.
  6. Giving corvette convertible owners the respect they deserve.
  7. Thank god that Al Gore invented the internet.
  8. What is doesn't say: Which direction is the lotus actually traveling?
  9. ... the Lotus. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1191050/Father-faces-jail-towing-son-sledge-4x4-lifetime-experience.html
  10. Because this is a thread about buying a reasonably priced home television, not next-gen tech that starts out at four times the cost of a standard LCD/plasma tv.
  11. I haven't been able to find any kind of up-scaling in the cable box, BUT I did swap to AV cables, looks a hell of a lot better than the coaxial. I think I may be able to live with it. I'm still not using the whole screen, though.
  12. What of these "near HD Upconverting" boxes? Should I just exchange the thing?
  13. ok, got 1080p.... is there any way to make my TV channels not look like shit? Should I take it back and exchange for a 720p?
  14. Hmm, for Fiddy bux, I'd like to see a picture, and maybe get a measurement of the top of the microwave (to make sure i can mount it under my cabinets). Much appreciated!
  15. I don't have an ultrasound probe, but I have something similar, and I can hummm.
  16. So, low miles? lol I'll take whatever info you can get, pics/price? thanks all, will be pulling the trigger on one of these within a week.
  17. Explains why my shower looks like new after all these years.
  18. http://www.fashionista.com/2009/06/would_you_try_this_the_spermin.php Giggity.
  19. I still beleive it was the Five Pointed Palm Exploding Heart Technique, finally catching up.
  20. True, but that doesn't give me the coin. Plus, I'm comnig off of a 27-30" Advent cathode ray, it's going to be hard not to impress me.
  21. Ok, I done a bad thing. Over my lunch break, I went to Best Buy to pick up the afore mentioned Insignia 32". Well, turns out I was mistaken, they're $430, not $320. This is where my logic got fuzzy: 430 is still the cheapest I'd be getting a decent 32" TV for. The woman side of my brain chimed in here and said "Well, you're spending $430 on a bargain brand anyways, why not spend 100 more and get 1080p in a 40 inch? " I found one on display, watched it for a couple minute, turned up the speakers to give'm a listen... and walked out with the 40" TV, 60% over planned $. Funny how that kind of money can be reasoned away. lol http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9329381&type=product&id=1218086176467
  22. I'd love to follow those recomendations, but the entry-model Panny 32" plasma is almost $200 more than the LCD I'm looking at now. I can't justify almost doubling the price for all that stuff.
  23. The local best buy has a couple of deals going on presently, both LCD: Insignia NS-LCD32-09 720p 32", $320 Proscan brand 1080p 40", $550ish Any reviews on either? I may move on the Insignia as early as tomarrow, the online reviews seem good. ps, just caught a glimpse of my lose voltage in the back of my ol tube TV. Neat lil light show.
  24. Looking for a nuker in good shape. Replacing one that's old and loud.
  25. Hey, I forgot you used to work at Best Buy. I'll be keeping the purchase under $500, right now there's a sale at Ye Ol Target with some Samsungs down at $399. They're roughly the same size as what I have, so I won't be hurting by taking the deal. I can control the lighting around the TV, so glare can be worked around. Are the LCD's generaly cheaper than Plasma's? My mother got a flat-panel something, and surfing chanels is torture because of the delay. Is that the response time you're referring to?
