DAT FEEL when you are getting your hair shampoo'd
Otis Nice replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Dumpster
Cutting isn't the same. Shampooing is like an HJ. Would you rather do it yourself or have a hot chick do it for you? -
You have to have made an intelligent case before you can put one to rest. My thoughts precisely. Last fight Silva was laying down, not defending, for more than 30 seconds and they didn't call it. Sonnen is down for a few, and it was (rightfully) stopped. I feel the stoppage was a good call, and so does Sonnen and any other intelligent fan. My prob is where Silva was granted the leniancy in the first fight. Just like any other sport, look at the stats. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1226856/Tito-Forrest_striking_medium.jpg http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1226860/Tito-Forrest_grappling_medium.jpg http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1226864/Tito-Forrest_performance_medium.jpg Like it or not, as someone said on my FB, even though he left like a punk (which caused him to lose what respect I did have for him), the points aren't based on post fight attitude. Dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say about MMA. Take just one of his "pitter-patter" hits. I'd love to see the results. Yup, he did. I won't cry over it. I will say, that once again, Silva showed his colors though. His "take vaseline from my face and slather my torso so I'm harder to hold onto" move was FINALLY sought out and the ref used a towel to wipe it off. Jerk move. His holding the shorts, which anyone who is (at the time) 14-0 in the UFC KNOWS is illegal? Jerk move. His knee to the BODY on a downed opponent? Legal and devestating. He won it. He's a jerk, but he won that fight. I still think he should've lost the first fight by stoppage though. If you didn't watch it how on earth can you make intelligent speculation based on a web forum? Please stop. Um....yeah, Tito looked stiff and slow. He got his face punched inside out as well. His take downs were solid, but he was out gunned by far. What happened is he got sloppy. I don't think he was gassed at all, but he was letting his emotions control him. He wanted it so bad that he was willing to try anything and it failed him...that and he caught Silvas right hook with his face. I also agree with you more about Forrest after this fight.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I love it. Although I can't stand Tito I LOVED the way he got into Shamrocks head and called all 3 fights. I love the controversy and the trash talk. Been sitting here all night watching the prefight conferences and weigh ins and am eating it up. I just can't stand Silva. I won't discredit how good he is though, but he's a tool. That's just me making an observation. I've NEVER liked Silva.

Yeah. I'm sure it's been done. Actually, a lot of last minute call in fighters have reported cutting drastic amount in a short time but they usually get whalloped due to lack of preperation and fatigue. The toll it takes on the body is crazy I think. I know for my buddy, and this may be just him and his style, he fights at 145 and walks around at 155. He tries not to get above that. If he's going to fight he starts months in advance prepping his body. I dunno though. I'm no fighter or trainer. I've lost a ton of weight but to drop that 20 in less than 24 hours seems crazy.

DAT FEEL when you are getting your hair shampoo'd

Fixed free of charge. -
I know they cut weight, but 20 pounds? Jeez. My buddy is a fighter. I'm gonna text him. Not that I'm doubting it or couldn't look it up but I'm curios as to how much he's cut in a day.

May goosta. -
Fair enough. Prob his earlier days when he was a bit younger. I think he's cool, calm, and collected now. ...and Silva dislocating his jaw def kept any ego he might have had in check.
-
Weird. Sonnen lost 20 pounds over night. That's got to be bad for his health. Weigh in. Silva showing the tool he really is. I'm ready for him to be dismantled...again. Kudos to Chael for keeping his cool.

You hate Forrest? I've never heard of anyone hating Forrest. To each their own though. He does look like an orangutan. And :lolguy: at the Silva comment.

Need me to translate? I'll try. Here goes nothing.

Hi Rob. Here car with be good touch yourself that and is if you grab.

Tito sucks. He made fun of someone tapping to strikes...then tapped to strikes against Liddell...then made fun of someone tapping to strikes. He's a stain. He's past his prime, although the same could be said for Forrest. We'll see. I'll give credit to Ortiz for his run, but like him vs. Shamrock all three times, one of the fighters is past their glory days. He didn't even WANT to fight Chuck after TUF. He's washed up. Plus, I really think Jon Jones can surpass that. Time will tell. Silva plays games. Generally they get into the heads of oponents and he knocks them the eff out. Chael knows his games and plays a trump card. I hadn't heard Chael was 20 lbs over. Link? Weigh in is at 7:00 tonight. Guess we'll see.

Probably home. Just like a big OSU game I'd rather not be interrupted.

Take them to Tractor. I hear he works wonders with cats.

1) I didn't miss your point, I disproved it. You stated, and I quote: "I'm also not a big supporter of women doing self defence training, unless they train hard and practice often they are just going to get themselves hurt and likely their attempt at resistance will be enjoyed by the attacker." If they're taking self defense they're training. If they're training they're practicing. If they're training/practicing the only ones they'll be hurting are their attackers. 2) Your grammar sucks. 3) My "epeen", as you call it, does not get ruffled. Online posts do little to sway my attitude and never inflict rage. 4) Go drown some more cats.

LOL. Me too. I don't necessarily like the guy but I think he has Silvas number. Ever see his :lolguy: Silva didn't last time. Took a whoopin' and Chael got sloppy late in the fight and got caught. Don't get me wrong. It takes serious skill to get hit 300 times and then land a triangle. I would've been unconcious long before them and I give Silva credit for coming out with a victory, although it should have (and if it were another fighter would have) been stopped when Chael was pounding his face inside out repeatedly and Silva wasn't defending last time. Oh well... Jerk. Caught it and edited when I came back in before I saw your post. lol Forrest is far from the best, but I've always liked him and he's far better than Tito ever has been. Tito has dodged more fights than Chuck Liddell punches. THANK YOU! I'm glad I'm not the only one (aside from Chael of course) who thought the first fight was robbed from him.

This and most of what you said about women and self defense is severely flawed, as Steve and pdqgp stated. Alexis Acosta over at Ohio Krav Maga was wrapped burrito style in a queen sized sheet then a queen sized heavy comforter, had 4 large men try to hold her down in a home invasion seminar and despite being (if I recall correctly) ~5'0" and 110 lbs fought them all off. She had zero athletic ability before starting Krav and was intimidated by it at first. Being fit doesn't mean jack crap in real world self defense. Being a trainer lends zero credibility to your sisters ability to not just meet an attackers level of ferocity but to rise above it and not stop until the threat is neutralized. Imi designed Krav not to earn belts or trophies but so that he, and eventually his countrymen, could live. I'm 6'1", 295 lbs and a Level 2 Student. My instructor is approx. 5'8" and 150 lbs and I can't friggin' stop the guy. We have a female in our gym who is also a Level 2 and she weighs about 125 and whoops most of our butts almost 100% of the time. In Krav size doesn't matter. It was designed to work for anyone of any size and any skill set range since it is taught to 100% of the IDF, both male and female (as you all know everyone in Israel serves for at least 2 years). Also, in Krav we're taught not to bow to an opponent on a mat or strike and wait to defend. We don't train to fight in a sanctioned arena vs. one guy with a ref to stop the fight if anything "illegal" takes place. No holds barred. Anything goes. One class we may be working on form in the gym and the other we may be outside on a gravel lot in a thunderstorm working on carotid choke from the mount and in the winter we may be out working on headlock and choke defenses on ice. No matter the situation, one must adapt, rise above, and overcome. DISCLAIMER: I'm not getting into a pissing match about Krav vs. other martial arts, I'm just using what I practice and know to disprove these ridiculous claims. Also, FWIW, along with Krav I too carry and believe in my trusty 12g, 9mm, and various other tools for HD, but as stated, they're just tools. The weapon is the person behind them and their level of training. That's why I always recommend self defense of some sort and advanced weapons training. Just my .02 on the situation as it's presented.

Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen My picks are obvious. Go.

Why not get her set up to learn a skill set to defend herself? Mace/tasers def help, but in the end they're tools to grab. Being able to defend oneself in an encounter is more valuable than a can of pepper spray IMO...especially if God forbid you can't grab said tools (i.e. spray/mace/firearm).

My fav FB post on this was the pic that read: "We need more Mayberry and less Jersey Shore". So true. So true.
