Yeah, I read that thread before. Great numbers but they don't really tell you some of the main details, like cam specs. When LG posts up some high HP numbers on other projects, they never say what the cam is, but it is usually VERY big. The LS3 is going to be one awesome engine for the new Camaro.

It seems that this is the 2nd time the Comp 918s are having issues. The 1st rule for anyone going to aftermarket valve springs is to get some heat in the engine before you go for a drive. Dual springs can also break but less of a chance of dropping a valve. I've read and heard of people chasing a misfire problem and it ended up being a broken dual spring. Their cars ran fine for the most part though.

Very impressive for "ONLY" 6 cyl. I talked to Brian Turner on the phone about it and its truely amazing. I'm just wondering how long it will stay together.

If you like the challenge and have the extra time and cash, go for it, other wise, just buy a used TBSS and save yourself a lot of headaches.

Thats what the cops think as well. I got a no front plate ticket for my Camaro SS in Gahanna as well on I-270 a few years ago. I have Collector tags and I had it in the pass side windshield, cop didn't care...

Eagle Muffler on the East side does custom work like that. They welded a cutout and a few O2 bungs on my car and I don't have cats. The guy that does it is into circle track cars, cool guy, name is Mark. BTW - Do you really have a 2001 SS thats SOM in color? If it has chrome 10 spokes, a 6 speed, T-Tops, leather and no traction control, I know that car, there is a story behind it. Bill

So what you are saying is that you made 27 RWHP by using a custom y-pipe compared to an aftermarket y-pipe like a Hooker or equivlent and no tuning? Very impressive if thats the case. I currently have a Hooker 3" y-pipe.

I would have expected 18-19 MPG on the highway... Your SD closed loop (using the front O2s for part throttle) right? Maybe doing 80 on the highway is affecting your MPG? lol...
