How does housing work if you are in the military? If I were to join I'd have to have an apartment or something since I have a 2 year old. Does the military have on-base paid child care or anything like that?

I've heard that being a mechanic in the miltary is horrible. The only things you'll be working on are huge diesels. My buddy was telling me about throwing a starter on one of the vehicles and the starter weighed like 50lbs. So he's trying to hold this 50lb starter up and get a bolt started. It's funny how he talks about it though. I've been thinking the same thing though lately. I'm not sure I would do it b/c I have a 2 year old son and I'd miss out on 4 years of his life. If I wasn't in this position I'd already be in the military.

I remember there used to be a few guys on here that were managers at parts stores. I wanted to see if any of them could give me a hook up. I'd like to get some management experience either full or part time. I have several ASE's and GM certs. I have been in the auto business for 5 years. Let me know if anyone can give me a hand, you won't be disappointed.

Quit being a douche. He's knowledgeable in the subject and he was helping him. You did not figure any taxes/title/fees into your price at all. You're not going to get a car out the door at $11K at many used dealerships. You're going to have to pay the fees.

I guess it looks like a very leinent punishment, but 30 days in jail, 2 years house arrest (work privelages), 8 years probation, 1,000 hours community service, lifetime driving suspension, 5 million to the family, and a lifetime with that burden on your shoulders doesn't look that bad either.

Well it sounds like the victims family is requesting the smaller sentence. I wouldn't mind getting his by a car if I knew my son would have 5 million in his bank account. It's justice in one form or another. I think most families would take 30 days in jail and 5 million than just 15 years in prision.

Who cares? It's just a car, you should have money saved up for the rest of your life and don't worry about going fast in a car. Later in life it'll make things easier and you'll have money to do this.
