3500.00 is midrange for guitars. Guitars/basses can cost upwards of 10k (and im sure higher for the extremes) from a custom builder (reference - Carl Thompson). The reason this is worth so much is because no other gibson will sound like it unless it is infact from the similar era. Similarly, people always want what they can't have and what is rare. This guitar is quite rare, and quite old... I think it doesn't need to be said but... "I'm sure its nice and broken in"... laughing-out-loud
