The ad seemed to be a typical "I hate to sell my baby but an opportunity of a lifetime has presented itself" instead of a "I have a car for sale" ad. Again, my impression is omission of the actual intent. Trust me, I'm not losing sleep over old ugly hipster porsches.... Let's just say I can visualize who this guy is, what he looks like, and how he does business.

I have no issue with people making dollars. I have issues with people saying one thing and doing another.
-
google his phone number (from his ad). Seems to flip a fuck ton of vehicles....

hahahahahahah... you have been saying that for years! See you tonight for our gun date at Aimhi!

Here's an example.... Chicago is a city where time-of-day matters for traffic. Altanta is NOT a city where time of day matters for traffic. It's always clogged.

I had no issues with heat or battery-killing. I mean, it drain the battery like any open app would that is similar. but it didn't suck the ever-loving life out of it.

5AM, The Lex floats...

Just made a trip to FL a month ago for a wedding. 75 through ATL. I got to Naples in 15 hours with stops for a pregnant wife and food. Download the app "waze" and go 90mph.

Agreed^^^ And, agreed on the point of "zero sentiment" on my guns. I sold my first gun to fund my second gun. Who cares. This isn't "insert dramatic honor-based epic saga movie title where tradition of coveting passed-down items is key"... It's 2015, grand pappy's shitty beat up heirloom belongs in trade where you toss in cash to upgrade to something with an RMR carved into the top of it. Who is with me? I'm kidding, I don't care what kind of guns you have or what you do with them. I just have no familiarity with the sentiment of family guns. Enjoy!

Shief and Geeto, why don't you two just fuck already and get it over with? OP, your thread sucks. Old hipster Porsches with neo-flat-brim-hipster drivers suck. Etc...

Jesus dude. Settle down.... I sense... Anger? Why? Then, answer this question. What makes the 2000 dollar safes easy to break open.. And the 6,000 dollar safes tough?

Such a learning experience and GLAD I learned it now. Makes me look at (and appreciate) Striker-fire guns in a totally different light.

I love the shoe analysts at CR. you guys REAAAAALLY know how to get lost in the minutiae. Keep it simple. Spend 100-200 dollars on a pair of real leather shoes where you recognize the brand name, are comfortable, and don't look retarded. END THREAD

This should be written in stone. buy leather shoes (instead of plastic). You won't look like a schmuck either...

there was a thread about this exact topic a year ago... Depending on your environment you have a couple of options. I wear these daily. My wife says they are too casual but I wear slacks/polo every day. http://www.dsw.com/shoe/cole+haan+air+somerset+loafer?prodId=282509&productRef=SEARCH&activeBrand=4294966711+4294963666+4294963143 If I want to dress it up but not look like an old dud I have a couple pairs of these... http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mezlan+duke+cap+toe+oxford?prodId=230602&productRef=SEARCH&activeBrand=4294965892+4294963666+4294963143

Agree, learning took place and I toggled it in my mind through the first couple hours of class. Should I run safety on and fully cocked? Should I run decocked with safety off? I tried it with the safety on and fully cocked and it took extra time to swipe the ambi-safety down (especially when I missed it and hand to incorporate my other hand). I ended up figuring that "no safety, but de-cocked" was my "safest" bet as a newbie. BUT, after the class I thought to myself "A VP9 would alleviate all these problems". So, I'm going to pick one up before the next class (I'm just so accustomed to the HK mag release). I'm glad I'm "figuring these things out" now versus when it really matters. Next on the list is to work on building a piston upper for the carbine course.

Well, I must say. I attended my first actual training class (basic pistol) and it was very informative. It was hosted by GunEnvy and used a combination of instructors (Terry Philips, Combat vet/now CPD) and Jonathan O'Conner from Gunenvy). The course lasted 8 hours (8-5) this past Saturday and we shot about 550 rounds. We started at static shooting, moved to "movement" type shooting where we were taught to move while engaging the threat, then did adrenaline simulation by physical activity to get the heart rate up (though I guarantee a real threat would be significantly different ) and then worked on reloads and such. We also did some time "who is the quickest" shooting with reloads etc. That was fun. All in all I think they have a good thing going. The P30L ran great. But I am convinced that (for training/self defense) I am going to switch to a trigger safety striker fire gun (something I never thought i'd do). Too much to fiddle with when drawing/gripping with a manual safety and I do not like the first trigger pull at the weight it is set at when de-cocked. They are going to be doing more classes (Intermediate Pistol, Advanced Pistol, and several carbine courses). The class I took was 250 bucks. I felt it was well-worth the price. Here are the next classes: August 30 - Intermediate Handgun September 13th - Basic Combat Handgun September 19th - Basic Carbine October 25th - CHL Practical Skills I will be hoping to attend the 3 top ones... but it all depends when baby #2 comes (disposable time shrinks!). PICS Me moving/shooting Instructor Terry Phillips Terry Training Larry's Daughter I don't work for Gunenvy. Nor am I affiliated. They have done good work on my guns in the past and I am just excited to share my experience with their training classes.

I also this it come down to how much the criminal knows about the contents within the safe. I once heard (and it could be accurate or not) that most house-robberies are by someone you knew.. Or someone that knew/profiled you.

I believe my regular insurance covers up to 2500 or 5K in guns. Any serious collector should use a 3rd party "pay per year" agency that specializes in understanding WHY your Transferrable Machine gun is worth more now than it was 5 years ago when you bought it for 5K less. This is simple people. I use a safe to ensure my children don't have an accident (When they get to the age of curiosity). I have insurance to make sure I don't take a bath in the event of a fire/crash/theft. Sledhead, "standard firearms" versus "collectors firearms" is nil if you have more wrapped up into your "standard firearms" than your homeonwer policy will cover. IE - You can own 30 glock 19's and they still may exceed the limit that your policy will cover.
-
It is true that insurance is a yearly cost. But, if your safe gets overcooked in a fire the contents will get damaged as well. Why not both? I assume every gun owner (in this forum) has a safe. Bear in mind that most safes can be unlocked in a matter of 15-30 seconds by a pro (this statement coming from a 12 year CPD veteran).

I'm shooting Sunday if anyone is down

So, you can get protection from damage, theft, fire, lost, damaged in car accident... EXCEPT for if it breaks during use.... for cheap. And, you have to itemize any gun over 10k and anything under 10k will be blanketed. You can insure guns, optics, Suppressors, and accessories. If a gun breaks while using it you are fucked. But policies like that are about 30 bucks a year per 10k in guns. So 100k in guns in theory is about 300/year to insure from a company called Historic Firearms. If you want a policy that protects guns if the break/blow up during use the cost multiplied by about 5x.

That's a nice luxury. You have 1000+ yards to work with?
