    Barrett M95

For 11K did it come with a S&B PM2 5-25x56? If so.. then he did fine. If not... yikes!
  2. I agree that 1 AR15 won't satisfy all of my needs/wants. But two(or maybe 3) might... I could truly be happy with 1 556 SBR, 1 308 AR-variant (ar10), and 1 20inch 556 bull barrel gun.

Slickguns.com Sometimes that very setup can be had for 8500-8700 when its on sale. but 9K is still a worthy price. Then again... I'm not a Barrett Guy.... Better choices exist (but aren't semiauto) http://www.edmarms.com/weaponssystems/50bmg.html I'm very happy with mine. It's very accurate. The other one I'd look at would be.... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=482021893

M107 is an aluminum body and has a QD suppressor brake M82a1 is a steel body with their notable spikey-arrow-shaped brake. What is he trying to do with the gun? shoot shorter distances (100-600) for fun and entertain? Or get more serious and shoot long range (mile+-) If his heart is set on a Barrett and he only plans on shooting "for fun to make his friends smile" then this would be a good route... Scope included. http://www.cdnnsports.com/barrett-82a1-50bmg-29-pkg-1-10rd.html#.VUjZChtFC01
  7. What parts do you still need? I may have extras.
  8. To clarify... I am going to bring 2 or 3 steel plates to hang at about 50yards, 100yards, and 375yards. I also have tennis balls (fun to shoot, they fly up when you hit them for the most part). As a note to all - Briar Rabbit has a Rifle range that stretches out to 375 yards with areas to hang steel per 50yard increment (but some of the wires to hang stuff from are dead). I normally bring 1-2 improvised U-shaped contraptions made from galvanized steel to press into the group with the steel hanging from the top bar. Briar Rabbit also has a nice pistol range with steel targets that drop when you hit them.
  9. Yeah, bring a stand. I'll have plenty of stuff to shoot at also
  10. Won't hurt. How far dya want to shoot?
  11. Probably leave here around noon (waiting for the scope to come in the mail)... But it may come Friday. In that case is like to go earlier!
  12. Hmmm, my 7.5 runs better than my 10.5's overall. But I've never had a 12.5 which is very intriguing. And, I've always gotten shit for not doing an 11.5 when I went 10.5. If you want reliability I would not go 10.5. Just from my experiences. I have 2 10.5 uppers and 1 runs flawlessly (semi and full) and the other 10.5 has had issues (but it is also running an NES CCS retractable stock). pS - and I never clean it.
  13. Right, I understand the point you are making. is this a SHTF gun?

I guarantee this seller is offering more/better than the seller your buddy has lined up... and it's 2K less... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=480886758

Gun 5600-5800 shipped Magazine - 150.00 200 rds - 600.00 (Assuming ball ammo) Scope - 100.00 - 12,000.00 (but lets say 1100.00 assuming its a leupold mk4) Range Finder - ? Regardless, Assuming the scope is about a G... I would not pay 10K for an M95.... If you are going to pay 10K for a complete barrett rifle system you might as well buy an M107.
  16. 300-400m should still be okay at 12.5 barrel. I know a guy that shoots 300-350 with a 10.5... Though (as Hwilli said) you are going to lose velocity. Also, if you are going to try and have a well rounded gun for 15-75 yard shots as well as out to 400 I would think an ACOG (ta33 or ta50) or a 1-4 (Viper PST) would be a great choice for the diversity of shooting that you intend to do. The MicroT1 is certainly capable. I would think you would want something that has BDC type intervals for the distances you want to reach to.
  17. I am going to sight in my new bolt gun so I am going to Briar Rabbit to shoot some paper and some steel at the rifle range and then probably hit the steel pistol range. Let me know if you are interested in going!
  18. shots from yesterday... Group shot of the competition Mat (from the Powder Room) and his Ruger 6.5CM
  19. 11.5 should still be fine. 10.5 is where a gun can be very finicky with being undergassed so you may need to play with buffers. Ritter had a 12.5 gun and really liked it. I hadn't ever shot it. As a note, you could always do a 13.7 with a pinned noveske kx3/kx5 so you wouldn't need a stamp.
  20. Yep, I am not a fan of "set your rifle on the bench and your first two shots are mulligans" but that was the only sight-in or re-sight we had the chance for. Had to do some math based on my first two shots...
  21. Yep, I went today for a match at Briar Rabbit. Manages to get first place in the semiauto class. Great time shooting today!
  22. Anyone trying to shoot?
