you could let someone with more 308 experience take it for a test drive. I'd gladly go to Briar Rabbit with you and see if I can do better. I put in the neighborhood of 2,200 rds of match 308 down the pipe this year (2014). Also, It could be your gun. I'm not leaving that out. As an example---My first AR10 (CMMG MK3 CBR) couldn't group worth a shit at 100yards but my HK91 shot lights out. I sent it back to CMMG to find that there was a burr on the crown. They re-crowned the barrel and it shot lights out at 100 when I got it back.

Equip your car with JL or Rockford Fosgate subs when you are 16 (to get chicks) THEN Equip your car with Rimz, body kit, and spoiler when you are 18 (to get chicks) THEN Equip your car with an AEM intake and an exhaust when you are 20 (people always left out header) THEN Buy a car with a turbo, or turbo your car, or add nitrous when you are 22 (Still trying to get chicks) And at the end of all this... the chicks you wanted you may have gotten... but you might still be with that chick and your needs as an adult (who has progressed with their level of sophistication) are getting older/wiser and your girl never caught up? I saw that happen to a lot of people.... stuck with a girl who still smokes weed, loves tattoos, and listens to dubstep.... TLDR? Cannot stress ammo enough when shooting past 500 yards. Cabelas has silver state 175g for 22/box. It's amazing how spending 4-more-dollars per box can improve accuracy. How long have you been shooting the gun? How many rounds have put through it? As a point to get out to 800. It's not "new barrel time" yet. First is ammo, then "time spent shooting", then.... Maybe a trigger upgrade. I use to go 2/5 at 1,000 with my remington 700 at 900y. With a Timney trigger I now go 4/5. What optic are you using? Also, most 308 AR's are not accuracy mongers unless you are buying Larue, HK, LWRC, etc

I've bought about 5 things and sold about 10 in 2014 on various FB groups. Some more serious (less flakey) than others. On your average "Ohio guns for sale" board you will find people trying to unload glocks, XD's, and old revolvers for too high of prices. they are also the types that lowball you on your stuff. It's actually a lot like a gun show. Haters/lowballers everywhere. Also, every other deal "doesn't happen" due to a flaker. ON THE OTHER SIDE... I am a member of 2-3 groups where they are nationwide based on niche interests (Long range shooting, NFA stuff, ETC) and people are VERY easy to deal with. Never had a flaker (buyer or seller) and my stuff usually sells in a day because I offer good prices (as does everyone else). IE - I sold a Remington 700 barrel in 3 hours for 120.00 shipped, was paid in 1 minute, and shipped the barrel out that afternoon. IE - I sold a BOX full of stocks (LWRC compact, HK, and 2 Mission First Tactical) in 10 minutes for 280.00. Was paid in 2 minutes, and shipped the next morning. IE - I bought a used 762 Noveske KX3 for cheap, paid instantly, and had it in 2 business days. I could cite 3-4 other examples but you get the picture.
