Waiting till I get a new job to build a new machine or buy a new laptop. I have an interview next week with a company, that hopefully goes well. My laptop is an HP AthlonX2 piece of shit, and my desktop is about out of steam. Oh well, guess I will save up and build a proper i7 machine when I get some dough.

We had a discussion in my Career Development class about some companies doing this kind of thing as part of the interview. Maybe you failed?

Well, you guys are already wrong with the "not going far". Public beta starts this summer, with the service being 100% released by the end of the year. This is not Vaporware like the Phantom console, this product has been in development in secret for the past 7 years.

When I built this machine, I bought a relatively cheap at the time Core 2 4300 @ 1.8, and its sort of at it's limit. I am also starting to do some stuff with more programs that actually use multiple cores, and this processor is pretty much done for. So which one of the ones above will give me the best performance for my buck for gaming, HD video watching and sometimes editing and encoding. Current Specs: Core 2 Duo E4300 MSI P6N SLI 1 x GeForce 8800 GTS 2 x 1Gig DDR2 (forget the brand) 1 x Western Digital 750gig SATA 1 x Samsung 250 gig IDE USB external 1 x Samsung DVD-RW drive 1000 w Thermaltake PSU

This concept by itself is one of those things were I went "Shit, why didn't I think of that..." OnLive is a service that allows you to play video games remotely, as if they were running on your machine. Imagine using Remote Desktop for gaming, except its a service and the games are all running and the graphics are being rendered on extremely high end servers. The big deal is "YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE TO UPGRADE HARDWARE EVER AGAIN". Some of the demo's they had outlined at the presentation is running Crysis on an extremely low end laptop. The service would run on PC's, Macs, and TV's. Imaging having a Mac that can play all PC games. Absolutely incredible. I am so excited its incredible. They said that the set top box for TV's are so cheap to produce that they can give them away with the service. A better example is this old long running anime series called Cyber Formula, which was basically a giant parody of F1 anyway (they even have a character named Knight Shumacher, take a guess who hes named after), making this even more hilarious. Edit: BTW, my avatar is from Cyber Formula.
