I am pretty sure, CPD types can weigh in on this, that "ticket quotas" are a myth dreampt up by those that don't like to pay for their transgressions. Isn't it a "real crime" if someone is racing and they accidentally kill another motorist? Preventing this is crime prevention by those standards. Additionally many traffic stops result in discovery of drugs, weapons, imported cigars and some other really nasty stuff.

No, they never ask for a badge or anything. I didn't used to look, but since I took the attitude that I would make it as inexpensive as possible, the bosses now know I am not on a boondoggle and send me on more trips.

I wanted to start a thread with travel a way to help people get discounts on hotels etc... As you all may or may not know, I travel for work. Since I do I have quite a few ways to save money on Hotels and Rental cars etc... For instance, Blackstone Group has a pretty good rate at Hiltons if you use Corporate code N9880578 Anyone else have these types of codes? I have them for National Rental Car and Starwood Hotels (Sheraton, W, Westin, etc...) You don't have to feel bad about using the codes, the way it works is they get that rate because they are going to have a certain number of occupied days, you are just increasing that. For instance, the Cisco rate for the Santa Clara Hilton was $150/night, but since they have so many people stay it got cut to $144/night this year. If this thread doesn't help you or you don't want to participate, there is a back button on most browsers....

I guess working for the Government does have its perks

I get to travel a bit and stay in places like that. Go skiiing in the mall (this is a no $hitter, they have a ski slope). -
Take it to Taylor Tire, they have a balancer that takes it up to z rated speed (and are VERY knowledgeable about these things)

Go into the phone settings and tell it to allow GPS, options, advanced options, gps, location ON, data source bt.... Unless you don't have location on, then I got nothing.

Gas is one of those items that no matter how expensive it is, someone will bitch! Really though, Bush got blamed for Katrina, gas prices, etc... I don't think that we can point one man at things like that. For instance, if Obama made the market go up yesterday, where the hell is he today?

You need to have a goes into/goes out of, mindset. where is the fan getting the air from? eventually the bathroom will be out of air to draw, open a door or something. Dehumidifier?

I work in a way different environment than Columbus. Plus I have about 10 years experience doing this, and I have contacts all over the industry. Like I said, I have been invited to have drinks with some guys at another company (this is how interviews go for these types of positions). I just wonder if now is the right time... Yes I get to go to cool places, that is part of the whole headache. (next stop is Phuket Thailand http://www.indigo-pearl.com/index.html

The point of work is to move money from their bank account, to mine.

I have interviews lined up already. I am just wondering if I am justified in my own head. I don't have problems finding work, I have plenty of networking contacts in Silicon Valley. I just don't want to ruin those relationships. Working with people that invented things like NAT is just very invigorating, until office politics comes up.
-
I tend to work for Silicon Valley startups. I have jumped around a bit and can usually tell when the end is near. I am at this point with my current job. I have some interviews lined up, but I have some new things coming down the line that I want to work with. I guess my question is, when do you all know that you aren't contributing anymore and start looking?

You said a few things that don't go together. Bigger the screen, more the power drain. I have a very early on TomTom. The battery life is awesome=small screen. I have used a Garmin and didn't like the onscreen functions as much as the TomTom. I also use my BB Storm with google maps and that works too but isn't always accurate with my position.

I would be a distant memory living in a far away place.

well, since you didn't say what program.... I am unsure if we can help you. If it was microsoft, it saves it automatically in "saved documents" or something like that. Open the program and file-open recent. The next time it asks "are you sure you want to quit without saving" say no.

Most weed killer dissolves in water and stops working after 24 hours. Was it RoundUp? That is def. 24 hours after water touches it. scattering seed is the least effective way of getting grass to grow. you need to cover it with a light layer of topsoil and water it 2x per day. If you can get a slit-seeder you won't have any problems.

have you turned on your home a/c yet?

I have a 1 year old furnace and AC unit (it is propane but can be converted to gas). I pulled it out for the geo-thermal. $1000 and it is yours if the warranty folks aren't going to come around. -
It used to be called Remembrance Day (still is in Canada) and I think that name is better. Kathy Lee on the Today Show, this morning, said something about memorial day being for the troops. Memorial Day is only for the fallen. On the submarine, we set a complete place setting on one of the chief's tables and left it stand from 0000 til 2359. We kept it there for all of those that gave their lives in service, for those on "eternal patrol".

$8000.00 It is expensive to fly 12000 miles. The only seats they had left were first class.

You probably don't want a plastic one anyway, the static will do strange things and the plastic will abraid faster than the steel.

I am going to Thailand next Sunday and split my ITIN out to SFO to decrease the cost. CMH is just so limited sometimes. From CMH - HKT (Phuket), the ticket was over $8000. I booked a $400 flight to SFO, and a $1400 flight SFO - HKT. You just need to know the station pairs with the least expensive routes. I also play the mileage and status games, United is running a Double EQM promotion right now, so I get double miles on my SFO - ICN (Seoul) flight. I live this stuff all the time. Let me know if you need anything else.

What are you going to do with it?

If seeds won't grow in your yard, sod wont either. Have you tried using a seed planter, not a scatter and pray method? I planted 2 acres with a Brillion seeder and it all came up. The key to grass is excellent soil contact and loads of water. Sod has the same requirements, costs tons, and doesn't promise any better results. If you have poor soil, the sod will just die.

I have Geo-Thermal. Heat, AC, Hot Water, I don't sweat any of it. If it is 71 in the house and I want 72, I turn that badboy up.
